Correct. They are not the same. SAs want athletic teamwork experience. Just look at what % of a typical class played one or more varsity sports (see the class profiles on each SA website). It's typically 90% +. Marching band does have other attributes...but 90% of those Appointed to a SA did not to Marching Band in high school. it's that simple.
