As Pitou pointed out, Gon had to sacrifice his Nen in order to obtain all this power. He essentially made a "cursed" vow. However, his body and mind could not sustain that kind of power. Gon didn't actually age decades but his body did and of course there's a price for that. Also, his body was able to grow like that specifically because he's an enhancer and can literally "enhance" his body, the same way he healed himself faster when he broke an arm(twice), except this is just way, way more extreme(too extreme). What Kurapika did was different; Kurapika's vow was balanced and didn't ask for immense power but just enough to get rid of the Troupe but while not being able to use it against anyone else. It was nothing Kurapika couldn't handle at that point in time(worth nothing Kurapika is also 17 and not literally a child, physically speaking). That vow is also what might hold back Kurapika overall as a Nen user(which he might not care about as long as he kills/capture the Troupe and gets back the eyes of his people). On a side note: that image of Gon is actually one of the most popular along with being one of the best selling HXH action figures.
You forgot that Kurapika's ability literally uses his life as a price. He already lost 5 years of his life during his brief encounter with the phantom troupes. He loses 1 hour for every 1 sec his emperor time ability is active. It's reason he got very sick after he released Chrollo.

22:23 She's happy because that power is used on her instead of The King. Btw, the translation is incorrect in 6:14, instead of "His power is equal to that of the King", it should've been "His fangs might sink into the King."
While it's true that the King would *definitely* kill him, I do wonder what he could have the potential to do. At the very least, to the pre-awakened King. Whether that be if he could jump him initially (like with Meleoron), or how long he could survive in the face of the King. Which I think may still be shorter than Netero, since while he's likely stronger, he doesn't have the "safe" knockback 99 hands bring.
Exactly, that line always annoys me. Another mistranslated line is Netero's "you know nothing of humanity's potentional for malevolence" which ties into the themes of human war.
Maybe I'm having a Mandela effect but waaay back when, what I thought I read was, Pitou was happy about Gon's first punch because upon being hit by it, Pitou realized Gon isn't strong enough to kill the King or something to that effect because the first punch didn't Kill Pitou immediately.
So, I don’t know if anyone explain it but here it is. What Gon used is called “Vow and Limitation”. He basically asked the “Nen” to give him all of his potential in exchange for shortening his lifespan and his Nen itself. His body “aged” because his teen body wouldn’t have been able to handle all of the incoming power. It’s like having a litre of water and a small glass, you’ll need a bigger container to hold the whole litre of water. Kurapika actually did the same thing but the BIG difference is that Kurapika put an actual “limitation” on his deal which is he’ll die if he uses his powers on anyone other than the phantom troupe. Gon’s only “limitation” is that he’ll only have this power until Pitou’s dead(at least that’s what I think it is because it wasn’t exactly specified, so it’s just my own guess). It’s like Gon and Kurapika wrote a cheque to Nen in exchange for power but Kurapika put a price on his but Gon gave Nen a blank one and said “take whatever you want”. That why he said “I don’t care anymore if this is the end, so I’m gonna use everything”. And what happen to Pitou is called “Nen after death”, pitou’s devotion to the king is so strong that the Nen basically took over the body and wants to finish the “mission” of killing Gon. Phantom Troupe also talked about this at the end of the Yorknew City Arc. Kinda long but I think I covered it all.
10/10 An Insane Episode Gon vs. Neferpitou is my favorite fight in all of anime. I can hardly even do it justice by a review. The music slowly creeping in on us until it explodes in intensity and shows us Gon Freeccs become a Monster is one of my favorite moments in this show. Gon murders Pitou and the fight never makes her seem underpowered. Pitou is second only to Meruem in terms of Chimera Ants and this episode shows just how strong she still is, but also how much stronger Gon is than her. The moment at the end where Killua and Gon make eye contact is another reason this episode is held to such a high standard.
This scene deconstructs the classic shonen "power up" trope beautifully imo. I get that y'all think it's random but 99.9% of shonen does it. Nearly every main character in a shonen has this random, out of the blue, power up (e.g super saiyen, 2nd gear, sage mode, etc) but in HxH, we get to see a more realistic version of acquiring unfounded power, and the cost and consequences of using it.
I love this episode, truly a masterpiece. I feel like that image of gon not being around is the whole point of this episode, it’s just unexpected that others don’t want to spoil it for anyone so that they can experience it themselves. Which I appreciate.
Yeah Pitou had already passed on, but we were warned by the Phantom Troupe about post-mortem Nen that can grow even stronger. That's the reason they haven't pursued Kurapika while his chain is on Chrollo's heart. Pitou doesn't know yet what happened away from the castle, so when they say Gon is powerful enough to threaten the King, that means before he absorbed Pouf and Youpi's strength. Still pretty crazy tbf.
The best part of HxH is the power balance, We see so many anime with huge power they getting without knowing where or how but with HxH there's always balance and limit and mot of all price to pay! that's why HxH it's one of my top 3 anime of all time. Togashi made this story with every arc can it be it's own standalone anime series like the Greed Island, Tower of Heaven and the Chimera Ants all of those arcs just to show how genius that man is.
Netero didn't add years to his life. Since Nen is life energy, being able to hold it in means you live longer. Most people just leak their nen all their lives, and this is why Netero showed his age AFTER he unleashed all his nen. Any nen user can become really old assuming they don't die in combat. Also Gon's contract was that he would sacrifice all the potential of his body and Nen to become the strongest version of himself for a temporary amount of time. In other words, if anyone other than Gon or Killua (and very very few others) made the exact same deal, they would still lose to Pitou because their potential wouldn't be good enough. Gon and Killua were called "1 in 10 Million talents", so it stands to reason that at any given time there are only 800 people alive who COULD become that strong.
Few of the comments each of you made really pieces it together. Bisky's physical transformation, Kurapika's restrictions (which he explained to Gon in York New) and Gon's emotional instability when it comes to what he promises or decides he will do. This is one of those episodes you notice more foreshadowing and thematic mirroring each time you re-watch the series. Togashi really just goes no limits on the writing, and considering the age of this series, decades before its time.
Killua thinking of Bisky wasn’t them covering for criticism it was just good writing because that is exactly what Killua would probably think of and likewise realize its not related at all there is nothing to cover for as the mechanism of using conditions was already explained so the idea of Gon getting extreme power through possibly sacrificing years of his life energy or his entire potential to use nen is completely consistent. Pitou wasn’t glad that she was able to protect the King by getting Gon who she correctly believed was a threat to sacrifice his power in order to fight her and hence ensuring he would be unable to ever threaten the King.
It’s not that gon just aged himself. He gave all the rest of his time alive and pulled it forward to him at his pure peak. This is peak gon in 20 years
I'm glad you guys finally reached this episode free from spoilers. I've been watching every week and waiting for your HXH releases just to see this moment. Definitely worth the wait!
It is also worthing noting how this transformation is a subversion of the "transformation trope" in most shonen (first super sayan form, natsu's dragon force, etc). Those moments usually come with hope and power of friendship, to save loved ones and defeat the main villain. However in this one, Gon is doing this for himself/his own emotions, Pitou is not the main villain of the arc and this is totally not happening to save a friend of something like that, its hate and revenge all the way. I actually felt bad for gon in my first watch.
Lol I was having a marathon of their HxH videos the whole day, I thought they had already finished the series. My heart sank when I saw that there's no more episodes after this and now I have to wait. Anyway really been loving their reactions to this great series.
This fight is the culmination of 130 episodes of Hunter X Hunter. There is so much payoff on Gon's suicidal tendencies, Nen restrictions and Nen after death (which was introduced all the way back at the end of the phantom troupe arc) This is also the only scene where Killua's footsteps are audible. Gon's ultimate form is in the Jump Force video game (He immediately dies after using it): ruclips.net/video/DhIfV3GEowA/видео.html This form doesn't get referenced on merc or other forms of media often because this is him at his lowest point.
The most anticipated episode of the series after you've watched it. Great reaction, even after I watched hxh multiple times seeing this episode still hits different. The emotions, the resolves, the intensity, the unexpected sequences, what an amazing episode thank you all for your fresh reactions
Seeing this on anime the first time reminded me of Uvogin. He probably strived for this level of power. Which also reminded me of Hiei comparing his punch to Toguro. 😅
Gon got the idea of nen condition from Kurapika. look how interested Gon when Kurapika explained it them and even want Kurapika to chain his heart for no reason 😅
This is not what gon would have become with constant training over decades btw, nen restrictions boosts the result which is why his "adult" base form gets so strong, Gon puts a a vow and restriction on himself to use everything and gives his nen a blank check to i dont care what the drawback is, which is insane since your mental state and resolve affects your nen which is it why gons aura spiked when he met pitou again, so a kid with a mental breakdown uses that as a foundation to enhance himself in exchange for all his potential including nen and life. compared to Kurapika who just shaves of hours of his life to use emperor time, Gon just offered up everything for a one time ability.
So am I the only one who noticed two things from what Gon did😅😅😅 First off from the previous episode the CEO of the Hunter x Hunter Association (can't remember his name... Isaac I think) he mentioned that nothing compares to the danger of human malice, which I'm pretty sure Gon just showed the pure power n intent of it and then the other thing is that there was this thing Kurapika did to become powerful enough to beat the Spider clan... He put a condition on himself😅 and I'm very much sure Gon, through the raw drive n power of malice, put the conditioned nen on himself to absolutely OBLITERATE Pitou at the sacrifice of his life force😅 Again... Am I the only one who caught on to this
Gon not just lost her decades worth of life force. He also lost the ability to use Nen. And remember that Nen or Aura is basically part of a body just like how a Soul is. (Everyone has nen, people only had to learn how to use it). So Gon sacrificing everything for the sake of killing Pitou is basically suicide. But he deems it as payment for Kite's sacrifice for him.
Not Miss Sam saying Gon was rocking booty shorts😅😂🤣. Shout out to her for not seeing an image of Manboy Gon, it was one of the first things images I saw of the series, so I was kind of spoiled on the scene before fully indulging in the series. One of the reasons I’ve stopped watching anime compilations 😅.
Idk how Adult Gon wouldve fared against the King, it seems like he does damage but he probably wouldnt be able to get a Jajanken off idk maybe he could use rock paper and scissors and might do well
Gon made a contract like kurapika did with the chains if he used the chains on someone that was part of the spiders he would die so gon knew to win he would have to do as drastic as this
Actually, Kurapika has 2 differents vows/set of rules. First, he would die if he uses chain jail on anyone who's not a spider. This rule is only restricted to the one ability, chain jail which forces a Zetsu state on its target making it impossible for him to use Nen. Kurapika could still use his other chain abilities on other people without any consequences. The second vow is related to his special Nen class. His ability emperor time which allows him to use his Nen at 100% output in every category can only used by sacrifice his life force. For every 1 second active, he pays 1 hour of his life and he can't maintain the ability for a long time or else he will get sick very fast. It's the reason why he had fever and slept for days after finishing his fight with the phantom troupe.
Gon has been built up as a kid with tremendous potential. Wing explained how rare both Gon and Killua are. While during the story we've seen how much more reckless Gon is than Killua. So Gon used up all of his life energy to accelerate and enhance himself to a state where he could be able to use all of that potential he has within him. If for example Zushi attempted this to avenge Wing's death (if that happened). Then the outcome would've been different. Because Zushi isn't an enhancer and secondly Zushi's personality is a lot different. He isn't as reckless as Gon and top of of that Zushi isn't as talented as Gon. His potential was lower. Zushi was still very talented, but had less potential than Gon and Killua. If Zushi for some reason was as reckless and attempted this and also was an enhancer, he wouldn't even be this strong due to having less potential. And Killua wouldn't have attempted this because we've seen that he's a lot more cautious than Gon. Even after removing the needle Illumi put in him he still is conditioned to be cautious. SPOILERS: Which Killua even refers to later on.

10/10
An Insane Episode
Gon vs.
Los Angeles loves you, and Thank you for giving us great reactions
Thank you for always supporting us Tekno!! 💜 -Morgan
Baby Gon ❌
Baby's Gone ✅
In the future arcs there's a charachter who's one in a billion. Meaning he's one of 8 people with that kind of potential
my most favorite episode of anime ever, and sam's reaction is about how i felt with my sadness
This is the first ep we can hear the killuas footsteps.
I've been waiting for this episode. Not only for HxH, but one of the best episodes of whole anime sector.
This fight is the culmination of 130 episodes of Hunter X Hunter. There is so much payoff on Gon's suicidal tendencies, Nen restrictions and Nen after death (which was introduced all the way back at the end of the phantom troupe arc)
This is also the only scene where Killua's footsteps are audible.
Gon's ultimate form is in the Jump Force video game (He immediately dies after using it):
ruclips.net/video/DhIfV3GEowA/видео.html
This form doesn't get referenced on merc or other forms of media often because this is him at his lowest point.
The most anticipated episode of the series after you've watched it. Great reaction, even after I watched hxh multiple times seeing this episode still hits different. The emotions, the resolves, the intensity, the unexpected sequences, what an amazing episode thank you all for your fresh reactions
Remember that just before he transformed, Gon said "I'll give everything."
He sacrificed everything.
Seeing this on anime the first time reminded me of Uvogin. He probably strived for this level of power. Which also reminded me of Hiei comparing his punch to Toguro. 😅
They cut off many important dialogues
Gon got the idea of nen condition from Kurapika. look how interested Gon when Kurapika explained it them and even want Kurapika to chain his heart for no reason 😅
Remember that the Nen of the dead is stronger because of the hatred it contains... It's mentioned through the series.
It's brilliant, isn't it? The author basically said in this episode, 'You can have your revenge, but it won't leave a good taste in your mouth. 😂
This is what Miwa thought she was going to do against fake Geto 😭
This is not what gon would have become with constant training over decades btw, nen restrictions boosts the result which is why his "adult" base form gets so strong,
Gon puts a a vow and restriction on himself to use everything and gives his nen a blank check to i dont care what the drawback is, which is insane since your mental state and resolve affects your nen which is it why gons aura spiked when he met pitou again, so a kid with a mental breakdown uses that as a foundation to enhance himself in exchange for all his potential including nen and life.
compared to Kurapika who just shaves of hours of his life to use emperor time, Gon just offered up everything for a one time ability.
So am I the only one who noticed two things from what Gon did😅😅😅
First off from the previous episode the CEO of the Hunter x Hunter Association (can't remember his name... Isaac I think) he mentioned that nothing compares to the danger of human malice, which I'm pretty sure Gon just showed the pure power n intent of it and then the other thing is that there was this thing Kurapika did to become powerful enough to beat the Spider clan...
He put a condition on himself😅 and I'm very much sure Gon, through the raw drive n power of malice, put the conditioned nen on himself to absolutely OBLITERATE Pitou at the sacrifice of his life force😅
Again... Am I the only one who caught on to this
Legendary episode
Glad you weren’t spoiled on gon’s transformation a boy into a man your lucky because it’s been out for a long time ❤
W viewers for not hyping this shit up since episode 1. So many other channels have had the surprise spoiled
That's the one we all been waiting for. This show is truly something else.
1 min of silence for those trees
Damn finally you guys made it to this episode 😱
Gon not just lost her decades worth of life force. He also lost the ability to use Nen.
And remember that Nen or Aura is basically part of a body just like how a Soul is. (Everyone has nen, people only had to learn how to use it).
So Gon sacrificing everything for the sake of killing Pitou is basically suicide. But he deems it as payment for Kite's sacrifice for him.
Its actually more likely that gon in that form was in his 50s-70s, since more aura=stronger ten= aging less
Such a satisfying fight it was
This is what I've been waiting for, for 130 episodes... again
7:47 “ I have never seen that image of Gon in any media” what a weird thing to say 🤔
I'm kinda in the same camp as Sam as far as the reveal. The only things I've seen is the part where he's powering up and the eyes open
Greatest episode of all time.
Idk how Adult Gon wouldve fared against the King, it seems like he does damage but he probably wouldnt be able to get a Jajanken off idk maybe he could use rock paper and scissors and might do well
gon digivolved into ADULT GON
Gon let her take his arm like she didi to kite
The Greatest Rage moment oat
Calling him gone got me twisted 😂
would love to see yall react to apothecary diaries. its sooo good (i prefer dub since in my opinion her voice actor for dub fits her personality more) but sub is really good too
I love Gon so when I first saw this episode I was shocked. Who else besides Gon can defeat Pito?
Probably Netero... rip
Netero could have. Pitou cant react to his attacks like the King could - it would only be a matter of time until Pitou died
Ah yes, this is that FATEDIC EPISODE
IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
Great! They hate the King! This would be interesting reaction for the next couples of episodes.
Great reaction! Damn, what an episode!
honestly, pitou was gonna kill gon anyways so at least he got the last laugh PAHAHAAHA
i feel like the quality of the reactions is going downhill, i honestly dont like this new webcam format, i'd rather have just the 2 of you (morgan and sam) doing the reaction in the old style than this , but thats just my opinion
Your opinion is trash. We've been watching all 4 of them for a year now, how tf could we leave anyone out
@@shoganai2545 its an opinion dumbf..k, i dont like this setup because there is a delay between their reactions and i clearely am not the only one disliking it because the views dropped too
My GF after this episode : "Fuck Gon, he kills Pitou ! I dont like him, hes a scum"
Only because she loves CAT so she loved Pitou 😂😂😂
Real scum are those who can't differentiate between right and wrong.
Real scum is your girlfriend.
Halter Top Gon is not to be messed with. I need to know what conditioner he uses though
You haven't seen the scariest character yet, that is next arc
BTW these sacrifices aren't just temporary bs, Gon loses years of his life and loses all his Nen ability permanently.
He also lost his status as the main character. In fact, he only appears once, as a side character, in the next 2 arcs and he will most likely not even show up in any future arc.
Now yall see what Hisoka saw 🤭😂😂
What a long journey here
All these reactions are so boring, i remembered i fucking jumped out of my seat back then
Yeah well you were probably sitting alone in your dark room.
They can't jump from their connected mics or scream in the mics
Maybe use your head
@@shoganai2545 You're so deep in their ass lmao.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!
What an episode ❤🎉
I think if Pouf didn't call Pitou she would have tried to kill Gon more sneaky like instead of up front I'm gonna kill you.
gon the fastest glow up
RIP Gon
don't worry, you'll have your soul explained 😂
Girl on the right has no idea what a solar beam is 😂
Why isn’t everyone together???
Gon on so many accasions acted selfishly and without thinking and never had long term consequences so he never learned his lesson so all that culminated to this thinking of no one elese only wanting revenge for kite he took way everything
As an enhancer Gon simply enhanced his age.
They're only concerned about "killua" .. whether he's ok or not😂😂😂
They don't give a f*ck about Gon or his part throughout the episode 😅😅
Atleast only thing they've to say is
"Poor trees" 😂😂..
Like f**K Gon who cares
Because he's the main character they don't think he can die. I thought Gon might be dead after this one 😂
No legs shown again wtf
This is one of the most emotional episode of all animes, and still they were able to have the most "bland" reaction I've seen from all 999x reactions I've seen from this moment. hahha 💩
Parker you have to finish the story of hunter x hunter, you don't have to understand everything now. Even after you're all done with the episodes the true story of Hunter x Hunter is just beginning
Making jokes and laughing in such a amazing episode it is sad to see.
Very bad cut.
hhahahhahaha remember how funny it was when you forced urself to gom from like 13 years to idk 25 😂😂😂😂😂😂 hahahahahaha
La furia de un hombre gentil 😢
When Gon didn't find his daddy he bacame a daddy
Razor?
