- In this video while talking more about my first ever CLR Nation Meetup, I'm sharing with you just a few of the reasons why Cologne is one of the best cities in Germany. From its amazing food to its lively nightlife (both of which were displayed in Part II of this series), there's a lot to love about this city. So if you're looking for a great place to live or even visit, then you should definitely check out Cologne! It's definitely got to be one of the best cities in Germany, and should be considered.

Yes, I enjoy riding the train. No driving, no parking stress, restroom or food anytime without disrupting my journey by pulling off the highway and stopping.

Most places in Europe that have lots of new buildings due to destruction during the wars will be considered ugly. It’s kinda mean when you think about it, but I doubt that mindset will ever change.

@@ChristopherLRussell Yeah, maybe next year visit Düsseldorf for their Japanese Street Food Festival which takes place in August? Or maybe the Gourmet Food Festival which is also in August? I'm making myself hungry!!
The place where you were staying is close to the traide fair and the Lanxess arena where concerts and hockey games are played. It's only quiet on Sundays because it's not really the center of the city, which is near the Dome cathedral. Next time, holler at me because I grew up and still live in this city but prefer not the inner city. Mostly because when you get older, the noise and cost of living inside the city is just way too much. There are food spots which are open every day of the week but if you are coming from out of town you don't really know it. Next time try "Keupstraße" which is basically a lil Turkey where there's a street with just turkish food spots, barbers, ect. - you can even take the local train No. 4 which takes you to Mülheim/Wiener Platz and from there it's like 5 mins walk.

Deutz is not a very interesting place to spend time at. You should have driven to the city Ehrenstrasse or Mittelstrasse for a nice breakfast café.
Way too expensive and for a guy who hasn't much time left, Deutzer Freiheit is pretty much nearby and it's closer to the river "Rhein".

Köln is often seen as ugly, because it was devestated in WW2 and only few historic buildings survived (like the Dom). Instead many boring looking buildings have been build in the 50s as a fast replacememt
Ugly?! The Dom and especially the Altstadt which is near the river is a beautiful sight, especially if you're lookin from the other side of the river. We have lots of beautiful parks on each side of the river, where everybody mingles if the weather is fine.
@@rikkidgermano9640 I never said there aren't any nice views, but there is no comparison to other citys, where you struggle to find ugly buildings (stereotypical and very touristy would be Rothenburg ob der Tauber).
@@lphaetaamma291 You have probably never been to Cologne or maybe once. I grew up here and I have yet to hear that Cologne is often seen as "ugly". Please do not state it like it's well known. When it comes to major cities, Cologne is one of the more beautiful ones but ugly?! The crane houses maybe, not a great sight to see but overall there's plenty of nicer things to see around the city and beauty always lies in the eyes of the beholder!
@@rikkidgermano9640 maybe "ugly" is the wrong word, but you are right, the devestation of WW2 and the rebuild in the 50s have also happend in many other citys, and especialy the mayor ones. And I think that what I meant might be very subjective, because I personaly like the feeling of a medieval Altstadt much better than any "modern" replacement.
Mate, as a result of "relaxed mask restrictions" in the USA, we now have 2 out of 4 ppl in my household down with COVID. All of us had avoided it for 2.5 years, but as a result of not masking, we now have 2 cases and some crazy amount of effort trying to avoid the other 2 catching it. Masks work, as long as everyone wears one.
I don’t want to go into this because of its sensitivity with some folks, but all I’m saying is that if YOU or anyone else, wants to wear them, it’s YOUR choice.
I just want MY choice.
Mandates take away my RIGHT TO CHOOSE.
One HAS to agree with that.
And that’s all I’m saying about it. I wish you, your household, and anyone else health.🤷🏾♂️❤️
