To add to the info sharing, here's my Tesla tire experience: Model Y - OEM Continentals: good tire all around, but noticeably louder than the Hankooks. - Hankook ION Evo: good efficiency and noticeable affect on sound Model 3 (Highland) - OEM Michelin: Again, a good all around tire, but not outstanding in any particular dimension - Goodyear ElectricDrive 2: Outstanding comfort, good efficiency, excellent noise. As for analysis on noise levels, I understand it's worth trying to be objective and using a decibel meter, but I think it's more about frequency than the overall decibels. For example, I wouldn't be surprised if most EV tires registered the same decibels, if a test was performed in a perfect lab environment. But, the difference in the type of sound (i.e., frequency) would stand out immediately to the human ear. Ideally a tire makes a low droning noise so it fades into the background. I think the Hankooks and Goodyears do that for me. Hopefully this helps...and keep making these videos!
Thanks for another tire video! These are my favorites and it’s so interesting to see the performance as well as efficiency/range of each tire. These OEM Goodyear Eagle F1 tires seem pretty good for what you get. Makes me wonder how they would compare to Goodyear’s new EV specific ElectricDrive 2 (the OG ElectricDrive GT tires were meh). Keep up the good work man!
so what tires did you end up thinking were the best or your money? Sounds like the cheaper west lakes are a pretty good deal... links/final comments weren't posted
Hey Geebs, I have an older Model 3 Performance and recently changed the stock 20s for some Tsportline 18”. I updated the wheel size accordingly. While the energy consumption has decreased by approximately 10 % and the projected range in the energy app/graph also improved, the battery indicator (where you switch from percentage or miles) still says the same range as before I made the switch. Just wondering if yours is the same?
I have LRMY with 20 wheels, what kind of range improvement could a 19” or even an 18” get? Only vids on 18” rims for MY have had larger diameter tires than the 20”, but no information on the range.
Anyone know how the Michelin Primacy tires perform? Got our Model Y long range and it came with the Goodyear but missing the quietness and smoothness of my Michelin Primacy.
I have the Sailun tires because they came with my aftermarket wheels. They do a great job for a cheap tire. But of course there are many downsides of cheap rubber if you are a spirited driver. This test is more for the Tesla driver that just rolls many dry highway miles in the summer.
Can you recommend the best tires for 19 inch model y 2021? Very interesting because i bought a tesla model y 2021 from tesla and i got continental tires, held up so far considering i put 26k miles on them in 6 months.
I need new ones for my ‘23 Model Y Long range. Have to get them this spring, running my Michelin winter tires now in Washington state. Thanks Gjeebs! And I never heard which tire you recommended????

Thanks for never forgetting about our Model Y gang. The car that put you on Google Maps. Thanks chief.

It’d be nice if you put the stats on the screen at the same time. I’m not taking notes over here and making my own chart. 😊
Hey Ben, I have a 2023 RWD M3. If you need an older M3 to do testing on...let me know. I'm in North PXH/Scottsdale.
i recently put a set of ps4 all seasons on my car and my efficiency has dropped roughly 25 wh/mi went from 270-275 to 300+ same driving habits and all
Great videos, GJEEBS. So, what are the recommended tires to run? I have an older 2013 model S P85. Also, my cabin db's are in the 80s, I believe.

I have the Hankook's on my Model Y, not only quieter, but smoother ride.
Yea I really like the hankooks
How about Goodyear Electric Drive 2 19"?

Thanks for the tire update. It will be a long time before I need new tires on my Model 3, but it never hurts to watch a good video.

New refresh Y just released.
Wait until you sell it 😂😂 Resale value is 50% off retail. Just after 2 years. 🤷♂️
Michelin best tires period. Range is does not save your life or provide correct handling.
Fake news 😢
What is fake?
'sigh'
