Another reason why he could have valued Daki, is because she was able to consume people with no one finding out. This allowed for her brother to continuously get stronger and be protected as his strength grew. She was a hidden conduit for slowly strengthening him.
Also because the fact that she's an oiran and make high quantity that's why muzan still valued her. The same as Upper Moon Five who make pots if i remember.

I love Gyotaro and Daki as demons; they were really amazing. Another thing that I liked about them is how they kind of mirrored/paralleled Tanjiro's and Nezuko's sibling relationship because we see how both Gyotaro and Tanjiro will do anything to protect their younger sibling as we've seen throughout the story. With Gytaro getting revenge on the samurai and coming out to help Daki when she feels overwhelmed or outmatched when fighting, down to becoming a demon of it means his sister can live. Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corp to find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human and does whatever to make sure she's safe while he fought, like when he fought Rui. Daki and Nezuko are kinds of the same because they became demons. We can see that they are very powerful and strong but lack a little bit in their fight styles (if that makes sense) and also have a child mindset considering that both of them turned into demons at age 13. Then there's the fact that both Gyotaro's and Daki's sibling relationship is strong, just like Tanjiro's and Nezuko's, it was interesting to see.
Fun Fact, their poses, Daki and Gyutaro, specifically when Gyutaro was coming out of Daki, it was a reference from how Gyutaro was hugging Ume in the promise flashback. Before they walked together in Hell.
also the fact that both siblings have abilities that play of eachother , like how tanjiro's flame breathing was enhanced with nezuko's blood to make it stronger .
Humanity and society failed the two siblings tremendously. It comes as no surprise that they became demons and doled out the same pain and suffering back to humanity. All they did was put a mirror up to society. There is a saying "fear the living, not the dead." That rings true here in our world as much as it rings true in theirs. After all the things those two siblings went through and had to endure, if we are being real, most of us would turn out the same too. Born into the lowest class and the entertainment district, no less. Being named after a venereal disease that killed their mother. That is just dark and sad. And life doesn't get any easier either.

@@rohits7364 Giyutaro essentially became a demon to save his sister. Tough decision to make. When one becomes a demon, they give up their humanity, that’s part of the condition. Which is why all the demons lose their memories. Gyutaro can't go into the light/heaven, as you can tell he is still in demon form. He knows he has to pay for his sins committed as a demon, and was ready to burden all of it for Ume as well. Ume reverted back to her human form and was given a second chance to enter the light/heaven or be reborn in a better life of Samsara. It wasn't Ume's decision to become a demon, it was thrusted upon her. And Ume only attacked the "Samurai" (more like an abusive and perverted John or privileged customer) because he was sexually assaulting her and had talked ill of Gyutaro. So she stabbed him in the eye in self-defense and he went to the extreme - bounded her and burnt her alive. But Gyutaro underestimated his sister's love and affection for him. How could she in good conscience live in paradise knowing that her beloved older brother, the one casted out by society from birth through no fault of his own, whom protected and raised her, will be suffering alone undeservingly. Growing up he would give the better portions of the food to her to ensure she is healthy unlike him and his ailing/deformed body (also due to physical abuse). She wouldn't be able to live with that. So in the end, she chose to journey to hell with her brother. To me their backstory was one of the saddest. Others are good too, you'll see when the time comes. The siblings though, literally asked for none of the hardships and unjust treatments they received. And to top it off, they only had each other from the very beginning as kids. And when they died, they were still very young. What did it for me was the last cut-scene of them as younglings huddling together in the rain, cold, and dirt with no food. They literally had nothing. And unlike Tanjiro, Giyutaro was unfortunately visited by an insidious Upper-Moon Demon instead of a kind-hearted Hashira in the his most darkest time of need. It goes to show how strong their bond was, that even heaven and hell couldn't break.
I think the only reason Muzan called Daki that stuff was to manipulate her. With the male demon moons he used fear to make them do his bidding. Daki being a woman used a different kind of manipulation
This is possible, but Muzan in general seems to prefer ordering demons around and flexing his overwhelming strength. He usually doesn't even bother manipulating.

When he used his strength to manipulate the Female members of the spider family gave up pretty easy and wanted to run away. Using a manipulation tactic by making them feel special seems to make one work harder in female anime characters.

I think the promise to always be together was also a reason why they share the same rank. And Daki died when Gyutarou was not with her so maybe he didn’t want that to happen again so they became a demon who can only be killed at the same time.
Did Daki die though? I don’t think you can become a demon if you’re already dead. Nezuko was close to death but she wasn’t actually fully dead since she inadvertently became a demon.

@@AnimeUproar wait i have a theory. What if Mume is already dead and Daki is a mere representation of Mume. An imposter if you will. We never saw what Mume was like when she was alive. All we know is that she's pretty and poked a samurai in the eye. That's it. We saw their backstory solely on Gyutaros perspective. The 2nd upper moon (who isn't unfamiliar with pretty girls) that gave them blood could've made another body for Daki with fabricated memories of Mume through Gyutaro. We know memories can be transfered through blood (Daki remembering Yuriichi). This might be why she's allowed in heaven. Lmk if i missed anything lol. Feel free to dispute.
No he never said that he could be a higher rank. He said that he had potential to rise as a stronger demon but bc he was always protecting daki he was never able to improve and reach that potential
That also somehow shows how strong uzui actually is given that he was keeping up well with gyutato during their fight sure he did have help from tanjiro and the others but he was poisoned at the very start.
Maybe Muzan praised Daki because it's somehow like a motivation for her to keep forward and reach further. Although he had already known beforehand that Daki had been always a hindrance, he still gave her some good words because she contributed a bit much. She could eat 6-7 (if it serves me right) hashiras by herself, so Muzan just praised her since he may believe Daki had the potential to be as strong as an upper moon.
When Muzan was speaking to Daki about killing Nezuko, could her brother hear the conversation or was he dormant until she asked him/he sensed that she needed his help?

Daki and Gyuutaro are my favourite characters in the whole series. I find their backstory super depressing and it makes me pity them. They’re also just some of the coolest characters, on par with Kokushibo for me
And dont forget. Ume/daki have given second chance to go to the light(presumably heaven or being reborn) after she died. But she chooses to go to hell with her brother cause she only want to be his little sister only. Their bond is a wholesome yet tragic... Yes gyutaro was a bad teacher for ume(even gyutaro himself regret it) but he is the best family member for her.
Well , Muzan only kept daki around because yes , the money she made as an oiran made it easier for Muzan to go around and stuff but also because she was very easy manipulate and do his deeds , like how gyutaro said , ume was a very easy person so influence and he says that if she wasn’t born with him but instead with normal family , she could have had a normal life or even become an successful oiran , and that she only ended up the way she did because that’s what he taught her , “ take what’s yours before others take it “ , so Muzan manipulates daki to do his biding and praises her making her feel incredible , when we know he doesn’t mean what he says and all .
Muzan actually favoured Gyutaro more than Daki. So in order to get Gyutaro to climbs ranks he had to praise Daki because if Daki wanted to do it, Gyutaro would follow.
Daki and gyutaros whole dynamic always makes me wonder. What if tanjiro was approached by a demon instead of giyu and given the same offer? Knowing him he would have done whatever to save her at the time. Just think about it.

Even we say daki doesnt exist and gyutaro fought all five of them including nezuko who can use blood demon art to erase poison and burns demons.. i dont think gyutaro will win.. nezuko was really needed at that fight but the author doesnt want to because the fight will be over early in this season
If Daki didnt exist, Gyutaro would have for sure eaten more humans and would have been even stronger - just the diff between eating 15 and 22 Hashira is massive!! But I think what Muzan meant was that Gyutari should have taken controll of Daki to fight!

This origin story is good. But no backstory will ever come close to Akaza. Don't know how good was the mangaka's mood. It was phenomenal. But then I see the ending of the manga and I have to question how badly can a story end, it gives GOT a run for its money

I always loved the dark mirror character archetype and that's essentially what these two are for Tanjiro and Nezuko. I love it when main characters encounter twisted and or dark reflections of themselves and other characters, not necessarily evil twins or evil counterparts from an alternate universe, but characters who are so similar that if their circumstances were flipped maybe their positions in the world would be too.
To me both daki and gyuutaro are the dark reflection of tanjiro and nezuko both care their little sisters both want to help them both in similar situations and they are similar but different and their story is very sad because what to them. Maybe someday they'll reincarnated to the next life. Maybe demons but they really do care for each other.
I think the ending scene is so interesting. Eventhough gyuutarou says he doesn't want anything to do with ume he still tells her to go where the light is (heaven) and he himself chooses to go to hell. So even if he doesn't want her with him anymore he still protects her.

demonslayer has such loveable villains,every character has such a good background story good or evil doesn't matter in this show you will feel for most of them if not all when you get to learn their background story.
Can't wait for Entertainment District to get dubbed and on Netflix to cry like a baby when Daki follows Gyutaro to Tartarus, instead of accept salvation, in order to show her brother how much she loves him and how grateful she is for every sacrifice he made for her! I remember seeing the anime showing the shots of the snow,hands holding together, and reminded me of when I read it in the manga, made me feel emotional of how much overwhelming it was.
Personally I like Kokushibo, Douma and Muzan... Kokushibo is badass and his backstory made me cry; I felt pity for Douma but his character is very entertaining; I like Muzan because of his backstory is very interesting to me...
I dont think doma deserves any pity he was treated as a god ever since he was a child which gave him a sense of superiority over others and manifested his twisted mindset that he has to kill people to end their suffering.

Gyutaro is the purest form of protective sibling in a cruel world. I cried when they died. I believe if they got shown the right way, they would change and help the Demon Slayers. They were dealt a shitty hand, and people were shitty to them. And Uma also loved her brother/father figure so much she endangered her own life because someone insulted him. Their story is sad but beautiful. Also Uma could have went to heaven, since her turning wasn't her chosing, but she decided to go with her brother to hell, because... "We will be together forever."
In regards to them being connected as 1 unit it's possible that the boy when choosing to become a demon chose to give up his eye. Being that they both share sight and the 3rd eye on the sister is the same a the brothers and that he never opens his right eye it would make sense.
It was really sad when I saw daki and her brothers heads fall off I felt like crying because the way I saw him treat daki like she was so so special I felt like I wanted them to win but they lost I actually knew sad parts of their past I really cried when there was an explosion of blood at least they died together and went to hell together :(

He visited Daki because Muzans true special power was nothing more then targeting the most broken people. Every single demon was broken, and he knew what to give them to make them loyal. For Kokoshibo it was recognition that he was finally the best. For Akaza it was meaning, For Daki it was praise. He gave them all what they needed to keep them mentally chained to him. They already lost what little they had when they become demons in the end making him all they have left.
One of the saddest backstories in anime. Even sadder when you realize Gyutaro was going to shoulder all the suffering in hell himself so Daki could join the light and she still refused to leave him
Daki with the third eye would have stood a chance against tengen. Her brother obviously is overwhelming tengen because his way of fighting is to poison the enemy and wait until they’re too weak to fight then finish them off. Tanjiro is definitely the key.
Tengen was only able to decapite daki because he is shinobu , not a swordsmith, despite daki not having an upper moon strength when gyutaro is not around , she still killed 7 hashiras .

Guytoro had to help her against rengoku level hashiras since he got the double. Tengen is lucky since he had back up. In the 2nd Fan book of Demon Slayer, there is a section that explains Muzan’s opinion on the upper rank demons. Muzan does not really like Daki, because he thinks that she is some kind of a brat and dumb, he thinks Gyutaro is the true upper rank 6. But, he can tolerate Daki because she has a very pretty face, and that face of hers and her position as a high class oiran makes a lot of money. Muzan himself, despite being a demon, he loves the convenient of having a lot of money. That’s why he values his money making demons like Daki and Gyokko.
Akaza and those two has the saddest stories ever, in my opinion i think Akaza should have gone to heaven even though he would have chosen to go to hell anyway. Gyutaro is such a sweet brother, there bond is tragic, terrifying yet precious and the old woman should have kept her mouth shut. It’s interesting that Demon Slayer has a recurring theme of unique characters that were all in their own journeys to redemption from their tragic pasts. Most demons (not really Doma, he’s just a psychopath) had to seek a resolution by joining Muzan. -Daki and Gyutaro (tragic past of two siblings who loved and cared about no one but each other) kill those “beneath” them out of vengeful envy. -Akaza (also one of the saddest backstories) lost everyone he loved and became bloodthirsty to fuel his wrath. The Hashiras learned to overcome their conflicts for the greater good, while the demons fueled their unresolved and conflicted pasts for vengeance.

I think the only reason Muzan called Daki that stuff was to manipulate her. With the male demon moons he used fear to make them do his bidding. Daki being a woman used a different kind of manipulation

This is possible, but Muzan in general seems to prefer ordering demons around and flexing his overwhelming strength. He usually doesn't even bother manipulating.
@@AnimeUproar That is also a good way of seeing it, the reason I think Muzan is manipulating her in that sense is by looking back at Lower moon Rui. When he used his strength to manipulate the Female members of the spider family gave up pretty easy and wanted to run away. Using a manipulation tactic by making them feel special seems to make one work harder in female anime characters.

I think the promise to always be together was also a reason why they share the same rank. And Daki died when Gyutarou was not with her so maybe he didn’t want that to happen again so they became a demon who can only be killed at the same time.
Did Daki die though? I don’t think you can become a demon if you’re already dead. Nezuko was close to death but she wasn’t actually fully dead since she inadvertently became a demon.

All we know is that she's pretty and poked a samurai in the eye. That's it. We saw their backstory solely on Gyutaros perspective. The 2nd upper moon (who isn't unfamiliar with pretty girls) that gave them blood could've made another body for Daki with fabricated memories of Mume through Gyutaro. We know memories can be transfered through blood (Daki remembering Yuriichi). This might be why she's allowed in heaven. Lmk if i missed anything lol. Feel free to dispute.

I just want to say that these past 3 episodes of demon slayer have been some of the best anime I’ve watched in a while.
Same the animation of the fight between uzui and gyutaro was just epic. I also like how they put some reference of Rengoku in there.

Maybe Muzan praised Daki because it's somehow like a motivation for her to keep forward and reach further. Although he had already known beforehand that Daki had been always a hindrance, he still gave her some good words because she contributed a bit much. She could eat 6-7 (if it serves me right) hashiras by herself, so Muzan just praised her since he may believe Daki had the potential to be as strong as an upper moon.
When Muzan was speaking to Daki about killing Nezuko, could her brother hear the conversation or was he dormant until she asked him/he sensed that she needed his help?
Gyutaro was dormant until he sensed his sister’s sadness DONT forget that they are connected

Daki and Gyuutaro are my favourite characters in the whole series. I find their backstory super depressing and it makes me pity them. They’re also just some of the coolest characters, on par with Kokushibo for me
And dont forget. Ume/daki have given second chance to go to the light(presumably heaven or being reborn) after she died. But she chooses to go to hell with her brother cause she only want to be his little sister only. Their bond is a wholesome yet tragic... Yes gyutaro was a bad teacher for ume(even gyutaro himself regret it) but he is the best family member for her.
Well , Muzan only kept daki around because yes , the money she made as an oiran made it easier for Muzan to go around and stuff but also because she was very easy manipulate and do his deeds , like how gyutaro said , ume was a very easy person so influence and he says that if she wasn’t born with him but instead with normal family , she could have had a normal life or even become an successful oiran , and that she only ended up the way she did because that’s what he taught her , “ take what’s yours before others take it “ , so Muzan manipulates daki to do his biding and praises her making her feel incredible , when we know he doesn’t mean what he says and all .

Secondly, Muzan started looking for Tanjiro specifically because Tanjiro quickly gained a reputation, especially after the demons knew his sister was a demon that protected humans.

Even we say daki doesnt exist and gyutaro fought all five of them including nezuko who can use blood demon art to erase poison and burns demons.. i dont think gyutaro will win.. nezuko was really needed at that fight but the author doesnt want to because the fight will be over early in this season
If Daki didnt exist, Gyutaro would have for sure eaten more humans and would have been even stronger - just the diff between eating 15 and 22 Hashira is massive!!
But I think what Muzan meant was that Gyutari should have taken controll of Daki to fight!

This origin story is good. But no backstory will ever come close to Akaza. Don't know how good was the mangaka's mood. It was phenomenal. But then I see the ending of the manga and I have to question how badly can a story end, it gives GOT a run for its money

The main reason for Muzan telling Daki that she is special is a way to manipulate her better and get her to kill the Kamado siblings.
I always loved the dark mirror character archetype and that's essentially what these two are for Tanjiro and Nezuko. I love it when main characters encounter twisted and or dark reflections of themselves and other characters, not necessarily evil twins or evil counterparts from an alternate universe, but characters who are so similar that if their circumstances were flipped maybe their positions in the world would be too.
I guessing that we are gonna see douma (upper moon 2) ANIMATED on the next episode OMG!!!

To me both daki and gyuutaro are the dark reflection of tanjiro and nezuko both care their little sisters both want to help them both in similar situations and they are similar but different and their story is very sad because what to them. Maybe someday they'll reincarnated to the next life. Maybe demons but they really do care for each other.
I think the ending scene is so interesting. Eventhough gyuutarou says he doesn't want anything to do with ume he still tells her to go where the light is (heaven) and he himself chooses to go to hell. So even if he doesn't want her with him anymore he still protects her.

I remember seeing the anime showing the shots of the snow,hands holding together, and reminded me of when I read it in the manga, made me feel emotional of how much overwhelming it was.
Personally I like Kokushibo, Douma and Muzan... Kokushibo is badass and his backstory made me cry; I felt pity for Douma but his character is very entertaining; I like Muzan because of his backstory is very interesting to me...

Gyutaro is the purest form of protective sibling in a cruel world. I cried when they died. I believe if they got shown the right way, they would change and help the Demon Slayers.
They were dealt a shitty hand, and people were shitty to them. And Uma also loved her brother/father figure so much she endangered her own life because someone insulted him.
Their story is sad but beautiful.
Also Uma could have went to heaven, since her turning wasn't her chosing, but she decided to go with her brother to hell, because... "We will be together forever."
A theory I have is why ume could go to heaven was because her brother was willing to take both of their sins they committed its demons

In regards to them being connected as 1 unit it's possible that the boy when choosing to become a demon chose to give up his eye. Being that they both share sight and the 3rd eye on the sister is the same a the brothers and that he never opens his right eye it would make sense.

It was really sad when I saw daki and her brothers heads fall off I felt like crying because the way I saw him treat daki like she was so so special I felt like I wanted them to win but they lost I actually knew sad parts of their past I really cried when there was an explosion of blood at least they died together and went to hell together :(

He visited Daki because Muzans true special power was nothing more then targeting the most broken people. Every single demon was broken, and he knew what to give them to make them loyal. For Kokoshibo it was recognition that he was finally the best. For Akaza it was meaning, For Daki it was praise. He gave them all what they needed to keep them mentally chained to him. They already lost what little they had when they become demons in the end making him all they have left.
One of the saddest backstories in anime. Even sadder when you realize Gyutaro was going to shoulder all the suffering in hell himself so Daki could join the light and she still refused to leave him
Daki with the third eye would have stood a chance against tengen. Her brother obviously is overwhelming tengen because his way of fighting is to poison the enemy and wait until they’re too weak to fight then finish them off. Tanjiro is definitely the key.
Tengen was only able to decapite daki because he is shinobu , not a swordsmith, despite daki not having an upper moon strength when gyutaro is not around , she still killed 7 hashiras .

Guytoro had to help her against rengoku level hashiras since he got the double. Tengen is lucky since he had back up. Daki never moved out of town since she was working as a stripper there basically all hashiras and demon slayer encountered her there how come they ignore her for centuries lol?

In the 2nd Fan book of Demon Slayer, there is a section that explains Muzan’s opinion on the upper rank demons.
Muzan does not really like Daki, because he thinks that she is some kind of a brat and dumb, he thinks Gyutaro is the true upper rank 6. But, he can tolerate Daki because she has a very pretty face, and that face of hers and her position as a high class oiran makes a lot of money. Muzan himself, despite being a demon, he loves the convenient of having a lot of money. That’s why he values his money making demons like Daki and Gyokko.
Those suits ain't cheap, that's for sure.

It’s interesting that Demon Slayer has a recurring theme of unique characters that were all in their own journeys to redemption from their tragic pasts.
Most demons (not really Doma, he’s just a psychopath) had to seek a resolution by joining Muzan.
-Daki and Gyutaro (tragic past of two siblings who loved and cared about no one but each other) kill those “beneath” them out of vengeful envy.
-Akaza (also one of the saddest backstories) lost everyone he loved and became bloodthirsty to fuel his wrath.
The Hashiras learned to overcome their conflicts for the greater good, while the demons fueled their unresolved and conflicted pasts for vengeance.
