It's so strange that no one really mentioned it. In Sonic Adventure Eggman got his nickname. The first time you meet Eggman he says "I'm Dr. Robotnik." and Sonic replays by calling him Eggman and he goes along with it to this very day. I think that is a really important moment.
Back then Sonic Adventure 2 was praised and was a good game and now it's like everyone hates it just because it's overrated. Its like how everyone wanted Sega to bring back Classic Sonic so they did and now the fandom says he's being used too much. (Only 2 games! Not including Mania.) And now, Sonic is nothing but a meme so no one can take the fans seriously. The community is just flip-floppy and doesn't know what it wants at all.

It's not just that, it's also because people keep comparing them to the newer games and when you do that, obviously the first two Adventure games are gonna fall flat but it's not a fair criticism since the first two Adventure games were just that, the FIRST. They were bound to make mistakes.
Then that's not a good reason either. There is many game series where people preferred the older games to newer ones aswell. Do people think that back then game creators were able to do everything they can do nowadays? Every game have their mistakes, there isn't a perfect game out there.
I'm biased but my grandma and I played this on her GameCube for hours at a time. Besides Zelda and Mario this was the game I remember playing most with her. I didn't realize people didn't like it. I really had so much fun playing this game.

One of my favorite things about the chao garden was when your chao really trusts you. Anybody remember how it would come running to you if you whistled? That was adorable. It also smiled and clapped if you carried it once it trusted you too.

Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle) is my favorite Sonic game of all time hell my favorite game of all time in general. I grew up with it and it was the game I've played the most (nearly 450 hours put into it). First played it in 2008 and 9 years later I still play it. The hate between the mechs and hunting stages are understandable (to an extent) but are still fun. Yes the mechs stages are really slow but that's just because not everything has to be fast pace (remember, Tails and Eggman aren't Sonic and Shadow, they're not meant to be fast so it makes sense). And the hunting stages are just annoying because the hints aren't helpful? Well take your time to learn the stage. Yes, it will take a while the first few attempts, but the more you play the more you learn where everything is. So when you use a hint TV you'll know where to go. It doesn't even take me 3 minutes to complete the stages anymore (except the space stages because of how big they are) but same with Tails and Eggman, Knuckles and Rouge not meant to be fast so their stages not being fast makes sense! Plus considering the Chao is the best feature in the Sonic Adventure series. It's what we spend a huge majority the play time doing. SA2 made huge improvements, like not going to pet your chao and accidentally attacking it because you weren't close enough. Chao Race had a lot more stages and added difficulty. Chao Karate was just awesome, and just many more stuff that made it amazing. If only they'd bring Chao back. Hell make a game that only focuses on Chao Sega, I'll sure as hell buy it and so will many others. Overall, this game was gold to me. Some mistakes here and there but they can easily be overlooked. It's sad it didn't age well, because no matter what you guys say it's still one of the best Sonic games ever. Sure as hell a lot better than the games we've been getting in the past years.
Don't you just hate this trend in Sonic where we're told to just accept Classic Sonic in everything because it is classic therefore perfect but bring up anything like the Adventure games and prepare for people going on about how buggy they are and how overrated they are and how badly they've aged. It's really discordant to try and make someone question there nostalgia no matter how much I like the first game over the sequel it's all up for whatever you grew up with. Not ever had the joy of Sonic in the 90s so this snoddy behavior towards modern fans is thoroughly unjustified and shows how difficult it is to please everyone when they want different things.
I think classic games are much overrated than SA2 heck I played them for the sake of trying to see why the fanboys treat them like a god book and guess what , they were boring most of parts , I lost many times and get restart the game again they were not speed at all parts . I played Sonic 1 ,2 &3 didn't enjoy them much as modren games then I give up on classic games and continue with modren ones .

look I didn't grow up with both classic and adevnture , what I said on classic games was an opinion I grow up a little from Sonic satam and Sonic X I played those games as an adult and I liked adventure more than classic , but I'm aware of their flaws and I can't blame Sonic team since they were the first 3d Sonic games but I can see the possibility to improve. now I also understand if fans like the classic games and I can accept that from them even that I didn't enjoy them my self , but what pisses me off is how classic fanbrats are treating any game inferior isn't classic and treat classic games like the god made them .They still bitching on modren games although they got what they want from Mania and won't leave the rest of non classic fans in peace . I understand the GC port of Adventure 1 wasn't polished as well, but what about SA2B? Because the only issues I really had or remembered were the Mad Space planetoid gravity and the lack of editing for the English dub.

I miss the old times when Game Grumps hadn't played Sonic Adventure and suck at it yet. Back then, the Adventure games were thought of as the best 3D Sonic games. Now, "they don't work at all. They suck. They are unplayable. They are bad games". Both games have problems but they're made bigger by the internet and people who frankly, don't know how to play well. In SA, Sonic and Tails stages don't seem to be as bashed; they just have "many glitches" because people try to find them and they don't forgive anymore it's the first 3D Sonic game, so we'll skip them. Knuckles' hunting stages are fun. You have a sandbox-type stage, and Knuckles is able to traverse them pretty fast with his climbing and gliding, plus there are springs and rockets to help you. I think the only problematic stage is Sky Deck because you are forced to return to one point and move a lever to change the stage. Amy is a bit hated so let's check her out: she has a slower paced gameplay, that's true but there's fun in that. It seems people don't know any strategy to build up speed, like they want her story to end. Just jump and swing Amy's hammer midair. You build enough speed to have the vault move available, so use that to turn, jump, attack, etc. It becomes much better this way. I think Hot Shelter for her it's a very interesting stage that's long, but enjoyable. Gamma is kinda licked. Its stages are short and the only one where the timer might be a problem is Hot Shelter. Big the Cat is... well... kinda fun tbh. Hear me out, when you know how to catch fish fast, his gameplay is kinda enjoyable. It's not what we want from a Sonic game, absolutely, but I'm working with what we do have. There's an option called Tutorial or Controls when you pick every character. I hated Big the Cat, the fishing seemed random. Then I discover that option. When I learned the controls, oh boy did his stages just flew by. Here's what you have to do if you just wanna unlock the final story: Find Froggy, throw the line close by, wait for it to be at around the same height as Froggy, MOVE the control stick (not reel in) because that attracts fish and Froggy, when it's noticed you wait, when Froggy bites the line you press A + DOWN on the control stick. Now just gradually hold A to reel in Froggy, maybe move the control stick a bit to counter Froggy's movement but that way you'll catch it in less than a minute. Extra content: the Chao aren't as fun but they are still a distraction, there are many new objetives in every stage and minigames, a mission mode in the Gamecube version, and in it you unlock classic Mega Drive games. They kinda suck but they're literally full games for getting emblems! Though for some reason there's something in Sonic 1 in Labyrinth Zone that makes the game reset or something and I can't never pass it...
In SA2, many things are improved from SA. The story is better yes, though that sound designer must have taken many free days because the music is too loud! (Everything I say applies to the Gamecube versions as I owned them). The Sonic/Shadow stages are better than SA, the Light Speed is greatly improved and the grinding brings joy. The Mechs stages are an improvement on Gamma's style, or they're suposed to be, let's check: so, they're bigger and you have a health bar that replenishes when you collect rings. People say the mechs control awkwardly but it's something to get used to, they have a slow acceleration which is good for their kind of stages. They sometimes require you to explore a small area to find a missile to open the way and so on. This mechanics work wonders if done right and it's shown in Weapons Bed, Cosmic Wall, the Streets and Space stages for Tails (forgot their names). I think the Mechs stages are better than the small Gamma time attack stages. Now we have the hunting stages with Knuckles and Rouge. They work the same with two differences: the Emerald Radar is now locked into one piece at a time until you collect that, and the Hint system changed. In SA, the Radar activated for all three pieces; that made the beeping more annoying but it was faster to search around the stage. In SA2, though you can search, find and collect pieces not highlighted by the radar, it's better for you to focus on the one that's highlighted as the hints are also focus on that one. In SA, the hint system is found via the Red Balls (not spoiling) of Light that when touched will fly to the direction of the nearest piece, most of the time it just shows you the general way to go but they work. In SA2, you have three hints for each piece that you get from monitors and can be revised in the pause screen. They can be useful, maybe telling exactly where to dig (beetle on the wall, behind weird scarecrow, etc), they can be general locations (go up, down, green room, etc) and they can have weird riddles. When your attention is focused to one piece and you have all three hints, you should be able to find it quickly albeit your score is lower but for first-time players the score shouldn't matter until they're ready to go for 100% completion. I think the Hunting is better in SA but the stages are so small that I prefer them from SA2; though you find some problems in stages that make you go around: the problematic stages are Death Chamber and it's Rouge counterpart(because it's a closed stage with many confusing corridors), Mad Space and Meteor Herd(because of the focus on one emerald, you might need to go to the top of the stage, then the bottom then top again. And they are big vertical stages. They'd be good without the radar restrictions). Extra content wise: SA2 has a lot. Fun Multiplayer, extra modes like the Kart racing, Boss rushes and the more complex and amazing Chao Garden which you can invest hours into, and many many many more objectives to complete in all stages; including getting A ranks in all of them to 100% complete the game. Verdict: I don't know why people bash this games, it's unreal. I maybe can understand people just want to "go fast" in Sonic games; even many Sonic fans RUclipsrs say that. But all of them seem to forget Sonic is a platforming, you didn't always go fast in the classic games but they are still amazing experiences, specially Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I think the hunting stages highlight that freedom roaming Sonic sometimes have. If they're fun and work, I don't see the reason to bash it.
Tbh, SA1 is very glitchy, and I would consider it as glitchy as Sonic 06 considering that you do a glitch with literally anything. In both games there were many times where clipped through the wall or the floor.
In SA1, I was playing the Casino level and I went to the shower and Tails just fell out of the sky and took a shower with Sonic. And then, at the end, he just fell out of nowhere.
Hey Peter, gonna drop some extra knowledge for you. The beep thing is called a Treasure Radar, and it doesn't actually track all of the emeralds/keys in a level at once, instead it tracks them one at a time. That's why you can be near an item and not have the radar be beeping; it's because that is not the one it is currently tracking.
SA2's Chao Garden is something infinitely unique to me. It's like the treasure trove of perfection in my eyes. I loved everything about it. It still means a lot to me. And even if they ever brought back the Chao Garden, I would love it but it would never hold up to SA2 Garden or even SA1 Garden (which I also enjoyed when I played it). I guess we all have that one heavily nostalgic game and for me that's the 2 Adventure games and their Chao Gardens.
Mine was The original Sonic, but never owned it, SA2 was the first I had, to this day still my favorite next to Shadow the Hedgehog, which is hated but I liked it even though I understand it’s flaws.
Still my favorite Sonic game of all time. The story was dramatic, characters were actually being used (unlike these days where they're all just shallow forms of themselves), Shadow WASN'T an complete Edgelord like he is now, Eggman was actually threatening, Sonic wasn't spouting terrible cringe one-liners, music was hype as fuck, grinding took skill, 2-player game modes, Tails being forced to step up to challenges, ans Super Sonic/Shadow was amazing. Can we just get an official Sonic Adventure 3 or something along these lines (Sonic 06 doesn't count and neither does Unleashed)???
I like both adventure games, but the treasure hunting stages were far better in adventure 1 just because in adventure 1 the emerald radar would go off for any of the 3 emerald pieces while in adventure 2 it only goes off for one at a time.
That's one of the only thing I would fix if they made an adventure 3. Make the treasure hunting stages not as massive (the first few aren't bad), fix the camera, make 3 stories Hero/Dark and Neutral annnd make sure the chao garden is back.
BlastKappa Sometimes I wonder if the people who only want fast-paced gameplay only want to play as Sonic (Peter loves Silvs so obviously this doesn't apply to him). Like, it's just me but not every character is fast. I personally want to play as Big again but with more polished gameplay; even if it is just fishing. Or as the Chaotix but they get like, something you'd expect from detectives. or just stealth gameplay for Espio (but assassinating robots instead of living things). or an actual game with Mighty and Ray. Or a Knuckles game with good treasure hunting mechanics and an awesome beat-em-up gameplay style. And of course, Silvs! And Blaze! There are so many characters that need their own games. But people are so close-minded and SEGA is so scared that that it won't happen, even though these games could be so good. Sonic is amazing but his face shouldn't be what sells all the time. didn't mean to go on a tangent, it's just I'm passionate about this opinion ^^;
OMG PETER 4 years ago I bought and downloaded SA2 on Ps3, but I was sad that the only reason I bought it was that I couldn't find SA1, which was the one I played, and have fond memories of from when I was 7. Also I kept hearing that it sucked so I only played a tiny bit. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH MIND SHATTERING AWESOMENESS I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT ON! I'm going to redownload it immediately and play it. i dont even care about chaosgarden. it is just one of the two games that got multiple gameplaystyles and sonicstories almost perfectly(the other one is sonic3&knackles) and except for the emerald radar sucking and some minor designoversights,the leveldesign is really good(i mean,i cant say sonic3&knuckles had perfect leveldesign when that sandlevel exists)
5:36 i understand this video is now two years old, but the part of "where it doesnt even beep at all", thats actually because its not the correct one the game wants you to find. even though you could stand right next to the key/piece of emerald, the game wants you to find the other ones first. also, gosh, yeah that beeping is annoying!
What people often don't know is that the Emeralds you collect in the Knuckles stages are in a certain order that the game thinks you'll actually collect them in. So if the Piece number one isn't next to you but piece number 2 is, the Suyabt won't beep. And if vice versa, it will beep.
To be completely honest, 06 was a prototype of the original due to it being rushed. It could have been good in gameplay due to it having 2 things 1. Multiple characters. 2. Unique abilitys
I feel like this game starts out so good, and then just kinda loses it as time goes on. This is coming from somebody who played and adored this game growing up too. I still think City Escape is the best level in Sonic history. but fuck mad space
P Films Sonic games in recent years have all come out near Winter(in November, to be precise.) Most of the time when people say "Holiday 2017," they're referring to around Christmas time. So judging by the past few games, it'll probably be coming out early November.

Also, the reason the "SUYABT" doesn't beep when you're close to something you're supposed to find is because sometimes you find the piece of the Master Emerald or the key that you're not supposed to find yet, so it doesn't beep.
To open chao eggs, you must hold "B" or action button a few seconds. Then, leave him in the ground. If it doesn't start shaking, grab him again and press the action button for a few seconds again until it shakes on the floor. When it shakes, the chao has been born safely.
I didn't grow up with the Adventure games. My first Sonic game was Unleashed, I didn't play SA2 until much later and, despite the initial shock at how different the controls were, I managed to get into it. I loved it. Still do. I'll concede that it's a bit rough around the edges nowadays, but it's still extremely fun.

No one except for people who wernt even sonic fans to begin with stated that adventure games "sucked". This sort of thing is the reason the mainstream says "sonic fans don't know what they want" because THEY think they know what we want even if it is obvious at this point, A good game. Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle) is my favorite Sonic game of all time hell my favorite game of all time in general. I grew up with it and it was the game I've played the most (nearly 450 hours put into it). First played it in 2008 and 9 years later I still play it. The hate between the mechs and hunting stages are understandable (to an extent) but are still fun. Yes the mechs stages are really slow but that's just because not everything has to be fast pace (remember, Tails and Eggman aren't Sonic and Shadow, they're not meant to be fast so it makes sense). And the hunting stages are just annoying because the hints aren't helpful? Well take your time to learn the stage. Yes, it will take a while the first few attempts, but the more you play the more you learn where everything is. So when you use a hint TV you'll know where to go. It doesn't even take me 3 minutes to complete the stages anymore (except the space stages because of how big they are) but same with Tails and Eggman, Knuckles and Rouge not meant to be fast so their stages not being fast makes sense! Plus considering the Chao is the best feature in the Sonic Adventure series. It's what we spend a huge majority the play time doing. SA2 made huge improvements, like not going to pet your chao and accidentally attacking it because you weren't close enough. Chao Race had a lot more stages and added difficulty. Chao Karate was just awesome, and just many more stuff that made it amazing. If only they'd bring Chao back. Hell make a game that only focuses on Chao Sega, I'll sure as hell buy it and so will many others.
Overall, this game was gold to me. Some mistakes here and there but they can easily be overlooked. It's sad it didn't age well, because no matter what you guys say it's still one of the best Sonic games ever. Sure as hell a lot better than the games we've been getting in the past years.

Don't you just hate this trend in Sonic where we're told to just accept Classic Sonic in everything because it is classic therefore perfect but bring up anything like the Adventure games and prepare for people going on about how buggy they are and how overrated they are and how badly they've aged. It's really discordant to try and make someone question there nostalgia no matter how much I like the first game over the sequel it's all up for whatever you grew up with. Not ever had the joy of Sonic in the 90s so this snoddy behavior towards modern fans is thoroughly unjustified and shows how difficult it is to please everyone when they want different things.

I miss the old times when Game Grumps hadn't played Sonic Adventure and suck at it yet. Back then, the Adventure games were thought of as the best 3D Sonic games. Now, "they don't work at all. They suck. They are unplayable. They are bad games". Both games have problems but they're made bigger by the internet and people who frankly, don't know how to play well.
In SA, Sonic and Tails stages don't seem to be as bashed; they just have "many glitches" because people try to find them and they don't forgive anymore it's the first 3D Sonic game, so we'll skip them. Knuckles' hunting stages are fun. You have a sandbox-type stage, and Knuckles is able to traverse them pretty fast with his climbing and gliding, plus there are springs and rockets to help you. I think the only problematic stage is Sky Deck because you are forced to return to one point and move a lever to change the stage. Amy is a bit hated so let's check her out: she has a slower paced gameplay, that's true but there's fun in that. It seems people don't know any strategy to build up speed, like they want her story to end. Just jump and swing Amy's hammer midair. You build enough speed to have the vault move available, so use that to turn, jump, attack, etc. It becomes much better this way. I think Hot Shelter for her it's a very interesting stage that's long, but enjoyable. Gamma is kinda licked. Its stages are short and the only one where the timer might be a problem is Hot Shelter. Big the Cat is... well... kinda fun tbh. Hear me out, when you know how to catch fish fast, his gameplay is kinda enjoyable. It's not what we want from a Sonic game, absolutely, but I'm working with what we do have. There's an option called Tutorial or Controls when you pick every character. I hated Big the Cat, the fishing seemed random. Then I discover that option. When I learned the controls, oh boy did his stages just flew by. Here's what you have to do if you just wanna unlock the final story: Find Froggy, throw the line close by, wait for it to be at around the same height as Froggy, MOVE the control stick (not reel in) because that attracts fish and Froggy, when it's noticed you wait, when Froggy bites the line you press A + DOWN on the control stick. Now just gradually hold A to reel in Froggy, maybe move the control stick a bit to counter Froggy's movement but that way you'll catch it in less than a minute. Extra content: the Chao aren't as fun but they are still a distraction, there are many new objetives in every stage and minigames, a mission mode in the Gamecube version, and in it you unlock classic Mega Drive games. They kinda suck but they're literally full games for getting emblems! Though for some reason there's something in Sonic 1 in Labyrinth Zone that makes the game reset or something and I can't never pass it...
In SA2, many things are improved from SA. The story is better yes, though that sound designer must have taken many free days because the music is too loud! (Everything I say applies to the Gamecube versions as I owned them). The Sonic/Shadow stages are better than SA, the Light Speed is greatly improved and the grinding brings joy. The Mechs stages are an improvement on Gamma's style, or they're suposed to be, let's check: so, they're bigger and you have a health bar that replenishes when you collect rings. People say the mechs control awkwardly but it's something to get used to, they have a slow acceleration which is good for their kind of stages. They sometimes require you to explore a small area to find a missile to open the way and so on. This mechanics work wonders if done right and it's shown in Weapons Bed, Cosmic Wall, the Streets and Space stages for Tails (forgot their names). I think the Mechs stages are better than the small Gamma time attack stages. Now we have the hunting stages with Knuckles and Rouge. They work the same with two differences: the Emerald Radar is now locked into one piece at a time until you collect that, and the Hint system changed. In SA, the Radar activated for all three pieces; that made the beeping more annoying but it was faster to search around the stage. In SA2, though you can search, find and collect pieces not highlighted by the radar, it's better for you to focus on the one that's highlighted as the hints are also focus on that one. In SA, the hint system is found via the Red Balls (not spoiling) of Light that when touched will fly to the direction of the nearest piece, most of the time it just shows you the general way to go but they work. In SA2, you have three hints for each piece that you get from monitors and can be revised in the pause screen. They can be useful, maybe telling exactly where to dig (beetle on the wall, behind weird scarecrow, etc), they can be general locations (go up, down, green room, etc) and they can have weird riddles. When your attention is focused to one piece and you have all three hints, you should be able to find it quickly albeit your score is lower but for first-time players the score shouldn't matter until they're ready to go for 100% completion. I think the Hunting is better in SA but the stages are so small that I prefer them from SA2; though you find some problems in stages that make you go around: the problematic stages are Death Chamber and it's Rouge counterpart(because it's a closed stage with many confusing corridors), Mad Space and Meteor Herd(because of the focus on one emerald, you might need to go to the top of the stage, then the bottom then top again. And they are big vertical stages. They'd be good without the radar restrictions).
Extra content wise: SA2 has a lot. Fun Multiplayer, extra modes like the Kart racing, Boss rushes and the more complex and amazing Chao Garden which you can invest hours into, and many many many more objectives to complete in all stages; including getting A ranks in all of them to 100% complete the game.
Verdict: I don't know why people bash this games, it's unreal. I maybe can understand people just want to "go fast" in Sonic games; even many Sonic fans RUclipsrs say that. But all of them seem to forget Sonic is a platforming, you didn't always go fast in the classic games but they are still amazing experiences, specially Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I think the hunting stages highlight that freedom roaming Sonic sometimes have. If they're fun and work, I don't see the reason to bash it.

Tbh, SA1 is very glitchy, and I would consider it as glitchy as Sonic 06 considering that you do a glitch with literally anything. In both games there were many times where clipped through the wall or the floor.

The beep thing is called a Treasure Radar, and it doesn't actually track all of the emeralds/keys in a level at once, instead it tracks them one at a time. That's why you can be near an item and not have the radar be beeping; it's because that is not the one it is currently tracking.
SA2's Chao Garden is something infinitely unique to me. It's like the treasure trove of perfection in my eyes. I loved everything about it. It still means a lot to me. And even if they ever brought back the Chao Garden, I would love it but it would never hold up to SA2 Garden or even SA1 Garden (which I also enjoyed when I played it). I guess we all have that one heavily nostalgic game and for me that's the 2 Adventure games and their Chao Gardens.

Still my favorite Sonic game of all time. The story was dramatic, characters were actually being used (unlike these days where they're all just shallow forms of themselves), Shadow WASN'T an complete Edgelord like he is now, Eggman was actually threatening, Sonic wasn't spouting terrible cringe one-liners, music was hype as fuck, grinding took skill, 2-player game modes, Tails being forced to step up to challenges, ans Super Sonic/Shadow was amazing. Can we just get an official Sonic Adventure 3 or something along these lines (Sonic 06 doesn't count and neither does Unleashed)???

I like both adventure games, but the treasure hunting stages were far better in adventure 1 just because in adventure 1 the emerald radar would go off for any of the 3 emerald pieces while in adventure 2 it only goes off for one at a time.
That's one of the only thing I would fix if they made an adventure 3. Make the treasure hunting stages not as massive (the first few aren't bad), fix the camera, make 3 stories Hero/Dark and Neutral annnd make sure the chao garden is back.

BlastKappa Sometimes I wonder if the people who only want fast-paced gameplay only want to play as Sonic (Peter loves Silvs so obviously this doesn't apply to him). Like, it's just me but not every character is fast. I personally want to play as Big again but with more polished gameplay; even if it is just fishing. Or as the Chaotix but they get like, something you'd expect from detectives. or just stealth gameplay for Espio (but assassinating robots instead of living things). or an actual game with Mighty and Ray. Or a Knuckles game with good treasure hunting mechanics and an awesome beat-em-up gameplay style. And of course, Silvs! And Blaze! There are so many characters that need their own games. But people are so close-minded and SEGA is so scared that that it won't happen, even though these games could be so good. OMG PETER 4 years ago I bought and downloaded SA2 on Ps3, but I was sad that the only reason I bought it was that I couldn't find SA1, which was the one I played, and have fond memories of from when I was 7. Also I kept hearing that it sucked so I only played a tiny bit. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH MIND SHATTERING AWESOMENESS I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT ON! I'm going to redownload it immediately and play it. All of it. And then some. And just last week I was thinking what the hell games can I afford to buy this winter that I actually have fun with. I agree SA2 is in my opinion the best Sonic game since the first one and it's still better than most of the Sonic games from today SA2 will always be my favorite Sonic game of all time

i dont even care about chaosgarden. it is just one of the two games that got multiple gameplaystyles and sonicstories almost perfectly(the other one is sonic3&knackles) and except for the emerald radar sucking and some minor designoversights,the leveldesign is really good(i mean,i cant say sonic3&knuckles had perfect leveldesign when that sandlevel exists)

What people often don't know is that the Emeralds you collect in the Knuckles stages are in a certain order that the game thinks you'll actually collect them in. So if the Piece number one isn't next to you but piece number 2 is, the Suyabt won't beep. And if vice versa, it will beep.
To be completely honest, 06 was a prototype of the original due to it being rushed. It could have been good in gameplay due to it having 2 things
1. Multiple characters.
2. Unique abilitys

Also, the reason the "SUYABT" doesn't beep when you're close to something you're supposed to find is because sometimes you find the piece of the Master Emerald or the key that you're not supposed to find yet, so it doesn't beep.
The SUYABT in SA2 wants you to find them in a specific order, while the one in SA1 will track all three treasures at the same time.

I didn't grow up with the Adventure games. My first Sonic game was Unleashed, I didn't play SA2 until much later and, despite the initial shock at how different the controls were, I managed to get into it. I loved it. Still do. I'll concede that it's a bit rough around the edges nowadays, but it's still extremely fun.
