Salty is constantly tweaking and fixing Zeal too... /kneel to Salty. true hero of norrath RoF2 will still be superior so hopefully that still gets done. but wow, Zeal improves Quarm about 200%. we owe Salty a big thanks
Thanks for this great walkthrough, Class. It's really an awesome update for Quarm. Salty has done an amazing job, and even more so with this latest edition. Salty made this using the latest dll file, btw, so it can very much be recommended to try that one out as well along with it (as most/a lot have been using the second latest one, as that one seemed to work better for most). Also some nice UI additions in it as well. Do take in mind though, that this is a sound plugin file (.asi), so it somewhat works off of the game's sound, which has to be turned on for that purpose.
Great video! Thanks for the walk through. I was going to ask you about this on Discord. This fixed my camera issue and has made the game much more enjoyable.
Quarm is an absolute pleasure to play now. During previous streams/recordings, I would go out of my way to avoid moving the camera much... Now I can just relax and enjoy my surroundings. 😅 Time for some cinematic EverQuest shots 🎥
lol yes I feel you. Before the patch, I inverted the mouse to help with 3rd person view. However, it made 1st person virtually unusable for me. Post-patch, I reverted back to normal axis and it was like playing in 4k lol 😂 I can't believe I allowed myself to get used to the latter. The things we'll do for a little bit of EverQuest is crazy.
I'll be honest, I haven't changed the UI or used many QOL features in Quarm or even P99... Just stubbornly using vanilla. But I'll add this to my to-do list since you mentioned it. Thank you for providing that feedback/request and I'll let you know once I do some digging.
I'll vet it out and let you know. Most of the time, if you're downloading it from the recommended sources, it's safe. A lot of these tools are player made so they don't have any Windows certificates. That being said, I'll ask my buddy Willigetin as he's much smarter than me. Regarding a tutorial, I don't use maps BUT since you asked, I will look into doing a tutorial to help others. I'll respond here and update you ASAP.
@@xplodr007 Same... coming from years of Project 1999 Green I just could not stomach it. It's definitely better now and since this video was released, Zeal has improved even more. What I really want is a refresh of the Green server... a fresh start while keeping the old Green server available. Sprinkle in Luclin as the final expansion and it would be a masterpiece.
Great question - here's some feedback I got from one of my friends: "You may have to play with the sensitivity on your game and possibly DPI settings on mouse but I would start with putting your in game mouse sensitivity to 14% and see if that is enough. If that doesn’t work try it at 28%, if 28% is too high then drop it back down to 14% and play with dpi settings. You’ll notice that in 1st person the vertical mouse look is quicker than horizontal. This is where you will play with the sensitivity settings. 3rd person view seems to be pretty even" @dtrrider1 let me know if this helps at all
@@dtrrider1 hmmm I'm not sure but that's definitely odd. I'll run some tests and see if I find anything that is helpful. I expect you're not the only one and that the devs are working on it but I'll share this feedback on their Discord anyways. I'll keep you posted if I find a fix.
@@dtrrider1 I just checked and it looks like they released a newer file with some additional updates/tweaks... @@ClassNCool Thanks but it didn't help at all. I'd estimate the up / down axis is about 50x more sensitive than left / right. Super hard to control. Surely it's not just me?
@@kirksneckchop7873 I prefer the P99 client too. I think it's because the client being used in Quarm goes all the way to PoP but I'm not sure. Also, the AV blocks Zeal so you have to add to the exception list. Lastly, if you have certain new AMD CPUs (like me), you have to underclock it into the Bios. Huge pain I had to go through to get it working smoothly.
@@ClassNCool Thanks for the info. I discovered that the Zeal mod hooks into the client through the audio, so it won't work unless you have that enabled. Enabling audio in the EQclient.ini file loaded the mod. I still find strange camera sensitivity and do end up preferring p99, but it does seem to make Quarm playable now. Thanks for the video and feedback!

how to zoom in and out?
Hey bro... do you know if its possible to run EQ Quarm on a Macbook pro M1 ? TY
Can you do a video on how to install maps? I tried to some from eqtools I think and it gave me a warning of a virus. Is this a safe? Or no?

I dismissed this server because of it's terrible camera control. I will try it again with this modification.
