Thank God for Max. If your going to engine swap it - you'll have to match bar work to go with. They're an insane toy vehicle, and will go anywhere, until they go over. The stock roof isn't that strong - that's why some guys wear helmets when 4x4 in serria's. Old school was 2.0 SSS motor = fun
These Gseries egines are renowned for doing head gaskets tomorrow, throw it in the bin, 1.9 tdi desiel egine out of volkswagen polo , I know you say desiel is dead, But could definitely be a cool option for build
Chuck a j20A Vitara motor in it 2.0L 4cyl got one in mine and they’re leaps and bounds better than the other models, and I’ve heard they’re not afraid of some boost
Pretty good motor only thing I'd say is what's the after market support like compared to the g16 and m13 etc u don't see a ton of 2l bits getting around well I don't. And being a 2l is it gonna be OK to engineer in qld
From Experience yes factory filter is in the back near the tank but a second inline fuel filter between fuel pump and and carb is needed. I had several 1.3a and b with idle jet blocking issues resolved with post fuel pump filter. on older units the mechanical fuel pump can release small particles to block idle jet.
Luv this lil build....everyone needs a Max in there life, well I do not being completely mechanically gifted and more often then not after having a crack that I will, I end up tail between the legs getting a tow truck because it ends up worse then I started...so off to a real mechanic to undo and fix my mess 😂....if budget allows max out the motor it has just for shits and giggles let's see what the stock engine is capable of doing till she blows....then swap, I've seen one with a 2 stroke it's funny a fk but it gets a lot of luv seeing it getting around just the sound it's hilarious....maybe something completely different try a Hayabusa engine swap that's in the family of zuks...I think there shaft driven that makes it easier but then you got to figure out 4x4 and reverse gear.
G16 vit and baleno motors have been known to crack blocks between the welsh plugs and water jacket. So just keep an eye on that there a great swap straight forward good power etc just gotta find a good one getting harder to find because of age and kms. I wouldn't bother with a carb upgrade just go efi. K motors are possible but they are quite a tall motor so sump to diff clearance can be a problem. Sr motors aren't to bad haven't really looked into them but keep in mind there drive trains not gonna like anything over 200hp with your tyer size. 4age has been done same with old school swift motors but keep in mind there starting to get on in age so parts availability etc might be a factor. M swaps the new kid on the block
Sam, good video however some feedback for future. Could you maybe do this in more of a methodical order so that we can follow what’s actually happening because you were jumping backwards and forwards and it was very hard to follow what you were actually doing! Keep up the good work
Surely a turbo 4age swap
Second this!
Third this

Stop ragging on this beautiful zook, it deserves a better owner
So there is some simple options. I have a 1988 with a 2001 baleno G16B EFI GOES GREAT
Surely put a 1.6 swift motor in it

Can’t wait to be rollin around in our own old school shorty crew 🎉
Little EFI Suzuki engine from the same family would keep it simple but a Toyota 3rz would be pretty darn cool in my opinion
put a 13B Turbo rotary in it

Just another standard carby fuel filter, or EFI filter?
First comment on Sam video 🇦🇺👍👍👍 to all the smart ass out there
Currently building an m18a, with cams, springs and forged internals. You should do the same 😉
Put a Rotax jetski motor in it. They're already 'water proof'.
K swap ittttt
Third option brother without a doubt “ nothing more nothing less “🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽💯
13B Bridgeport & snail
Honestly just wanna see it out on the tracks
are we not gonna talk about the drop shackles
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who seen it
How about the fact that he said it was running so well but didn’t even run the car in the video
Surprised he still takes your calls after the last build hahaha
Weber carb - too keep with slightly budget then go all out like 4age.
Swift GTI and a turbo 😁👌

Budget turbo the OG motor see what gains you can get then boost it till it fails before engine swap
The 1.3 will have been shagged 100,000km ago. 1.6 Swift motor for a budget build engine swap. 4AGZE if budgets are so yesterday!
Put a rotary in it sounds sick good horse power
Unreliable.
Keep the engine and slap on a second hand turbo, budget power
FJ20DET 💪 💪
Heat the caliper pins up .....slide right out
You should put a 1.9tdi vw engine in bro, trust me

Keep up the good work
I recon you should put one of the new 1.6l yaris gr engines in the dog
Option 3!!!!!!
Put a 3.8 ecotec in it with a turbo kit I've never seen it done before and never had my comment be the one to make something good like that happen
Turbo swift motor
Put the swift turbo engine in it
4bt for sure
Sr20 would be wicked
An engine swap that is realistic to the average joe blow “me” would be great to see. Those Webber carbys aren’t much chop on steep terrain
Fj20 compound turbo setup
Go G16B turbo. They are found in suzuki baleno's and suzuki vitara's.
3RZ would be the go
Dont bother with the weber carby on it, they are amazing on the highway but always stall out when ur out bush, go for a toyota 3k or 4k carb
8:49 missing radiator cap 👍
Hey Sam, when do we see the 80 offroad? you should put a vdj or fte in the zook 🤣🤣
Ecotec out of a commodore it’s been
done before into the sierras
Will a Hayabusa motor go in there like the mightyboys?
Use the 2.3 suzuki motor
4AGE with supercharger
Could probably fit a 1KD in there
Surely a rotary halfport 13b turbo swap
Sr20 would be fucking dope
sr20det swap 🙌🙌🙌
K swap would be crazy
Chassis and driveline swap current gen jimny
Stock k24, basically a big block of the 4 cylinder world. Be rude not to
Or a 3rz
20B triple rotor single turbo. You don’t do halves mate!!!
Dont bother with a weber, no good for offroad use.
Id say just g16a swap it, easy and reliable

Turbo rotary swap
