I totally agree, Flower of Evil has a great script and I am glad drama director Kim Chul Kyu managed to make LJK shine , he got out of him his best acting skills, I have being in DramaLand since 2012, and this drama is one of my favorites.

Miss Muffin Stay To b ehonest, I have seen all the 2020 kdrama series and only Lee Joon Gi acted so well. Others are romantic comedies but acting wise, it's Jon Gi. If he does not, then just like MAMA (a cooking show).. the award is based on popularity not talent. BEST ACTOR: LEE JOON GI BEST KPOP GROUP:BIGBANG Both are complete package. Incomparable.Most versatile actor/group.
Yeah I hope he at least gets nominated for a Baeksang or SIDA for Best Actor. His filmography is not that extensive for someone who has been in the industry as long as he has but is way more diverse than many A-list actors/actresses.

those who are dissapointed why Lee Joon Gi is not the best actor or top excellence , stay calm and undestand it :) What Joongi won is one of the highest award next to Daesang , HALLYU AWARD or KOREAN WAVE AWARD is not about voting/or popularity which what we thought of. HALLYU AWARD is like an international award where the ACTOR skills/drama was became a hit worldwide , not only in his country but how the actor contribute his acting skills to SBS Drama this 2016, how Hallyu wave formed by people in every country got attached to Scarlet Heart Ryeo bcause of his acting skils as Wang So . THe MC said that this award is one of the highest grand award and it is not about popularity also , there are panel of judges who will check if that winner is really a hallyu star , who in their station , out of all dramas , contrbute more. its a big achievement . So dont be mad now :) it just happend that the MC/or SBS did not fully explain more the meaning of the award, even lee joon gi is confused whe he won before daesang and what is hallyu award. so i am very proud of Lee Joon GI coz this is really his wish , that his acting will be known internationally , his character will be loved everywhere, his passion and hardwork will be recognized. and it came true ! :)
yes its a voting poll but at the back of it SBS/MC said there is still a panel of judges , so its voting and judging , of course they want to know also if that actor really contributes his acting as an actor to be known around the world .and Joongi really will won this because of his acting as wangso that was well received not only in korea but more on other countries as well :)

though he was very shy and somewhat intimidated to speak english at first... wow!!! just when i thought he would say the usual phrase like "thank you for all the love and support blah blah..." but then he surprised me with his words. "my heart goes out to all of you who always show me endless support from various place around the world. none of these would be possible without you guys. thank you so much and i love you all. thank you!" even jang geun suk, who can speak english fluently btw, was very impressed. well deserved award! he really can represent/promote his country and communicate with international fans.
we all know that he deserves the daesang award, but just like what positivethinker999 said, being recognized by international audience is more than enough. i don't understand their language but i can feel or understand what's going on during live streams or even without subtitles simply because of the way he acts in every scene. his acting is on point. he is indeed one of the best actors in korea, no doubt about it. but maybe it's not his time yet to receive the award. and it's a good thing! there's always room for improvement (if he really need one). and we can still enjoy his upcoming works.

I love him when he acts and sings. Ive seen all his dramas many times, and his movies also. I think he should get an award for everything he does because he puts so much emotion in them all.
After watching Flower of Evil, I believe no other actors could place a better role than LJG. He put all his heart and so much emotions in this drama. I watched most of his dramas and each one is a master piece. He’s an outstanding actor and an amazing person.. Hope he’ll have more dramas coming soon...

I watched this live from where I lived (California). First time ever for me. Went to bed at midnight and set my alarm for 2am and watched the live award show till 9am just to see my favorite actor Lee Joon Gi and best couple SoHae and some of the cast of Moon Lovers receive their very much deserved awards. I love Lee Joon Gi. Truly one of Korea's best actors. It's amazing how he was able to convey his gratitude to international fans through speaking the English language. His dramas are popular even outside of Korea, especially Moon Lovers. So he has a lot of foreign fans. It's a shame, SBS did not make a Season 2.
JOONGI deserves a daesang next time but hallyu star is a huge award and im so happy for him, joongi is by far one of the best actors in korea....like kdramas havce alot of great actors most of the are great actually but joongi is by far one of the best the way he portrayed wang so i still have it in my mind after all these months, its left a mark...like his shaking when he cried ad stuff ....he is really a great actor

I love him when he acts and sings. Ive seen all his dramas many times, and his movies also. I think he should get an award for everything he does because he puts so much emotion in them all.
After watching Flower of Evil, I believe no other actors could place a better role than LJG. He put all his heart and so much emotions in this drama. I watched most of his dramas and each one is a master piece. He’s an outstanding actor and an amazing person..

Ashiya Maki I think,he didn't memorize it.,because it's an unexpected award and unexpected request for him.He just speak what is in his heart.He knows how to speak english ever since but yet so shy to speak always that is why so many fans didn't know he can speak english.
we know that if actors are nominated in award giving bodies they often do/write/ memorize speech just in case they really won an award, but if you say so, then i believe you.. and i am so so proud of our idol because he can really do anything... he knows how to make his fans satisfied and happy... he's just simply amazing!!!

I love Lee Joon Gi. Truly one of Korea's best actors. It's amazing how he was able to convey his gratitude to international fans through speaking the English language. His dramas are popular even outside of Korea, especially Moon Lovers. So he has a lot of foreign fans. It's a shame, SBS did not make a Season 2.
