OM617 Conversion Series: Throttle Cable Adapter Breakdown

This an overview of the throttle cable adapters available for Jeeps and Toyotas. I can't stress enough how much happier you will be by retaining the factory linkage versus stripping it all off and attaching your cable directly to the "STOP" lever on the side of the valve cover.
Factory replacement throttle cables are available from major manufacturers. If yours is worn out, it's absolutely worth replacing it. I've had great luck with ATP Y777 for the Toyotas. It works as a replacement for both the 22R and 3VZE when used in conjunction with my bracket.

I need to do this conversion on my 300D, the drivetrain has 650,000 miles on it and counting. The original body rusted away and I had a nearly completely rustless 1979 300D that got stolen and vandalised. they stole parts out of the injector pump and who knows where else so I ended up donating its unibody and interior to this drivetrain. Unfortunately being a 1979 the bulkhead was built for the NA engine and transmission so the output for the throttle linkage is in the completely wrong spot and there are too many hoses from the turbo om617 in the way to actually use it. In theory a bowden cable should be an upgrade anyway being as there are no ball joints to lubricate and the pedal should be lighter so it works out if I can get it done

Great video, I am thinking of doing a conversion to my 1992 chevy s10 4.3. although the engine is still running at 191k, I have always dreamed of owning a diesel, any advice for such conversion.
Edit: Ialso need to save some money and have time to do such thing.
