⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I am a psychotherapist and I think you three are absolutely magical. Hands down my favorite podcast of all-time. What a gift to the world.
Usually don’t like jung stuff on RUclips because it just goes all over the place but I really like you all’s series. It’s wide yet focus. Hope you keep doing it. Thank you
1:05:00 - “Sexuality as an expression of love is hallowed, therefore never ask what a man does but how he does it. If he does it for love, or in the spirit of love, or in the spirit of love then he serves a god, and whatever he may do is not ours to judge for it is ennobled”. I may be stating the obvious and unnecessary but I nonetheless feel compelled to do so. I know you stated that Jung himself experienced sexual trauma as a child, he comes form a different time than our own and he’s a male which may or may not add some difference to the experience of childhood sexual trauma. Jung’s quote comes across as very one sided. There are two people involved in a sexual encounter and I would probably have received his quote better had he made this more clear. I’m pleased that Joseph stated that he would like to have Jung there for him to elaborate further on what he meant by love as I totally agree. Many atrocities have been enacted in the name of love. As a female, if I do not consent to a sexual encounter but a man states that what he did was in the name of love, I am (at least initially) going to have a very hard time not forming any judgments about that. I do not know if Jung allowed himself a process of anger and outrage about what was done to him before reaching a point of spiritual acceptance but I’m concerned that this kind of sentiment could cause people to rush past a very important part of grieving/healing as a sort of spiritual bypass. I’ve heard it said that everything a human does could essentially be classified as and act of love, but as stated above some of these acts can be devastating to psyche especially if enacted in childhood. While I have found great comfort in these sentiments myself, I also have formed the conclusion that some of the archetypal gods are (at least partially) utter bastards. Allowing myself times where I can be angry with them without being terrified of some sort of cosmic vengeance very healing. I don’t want this to detract from the rest of the podcast, though. As promised, it was rather fascinating.
Beautiful episode, so rich in meaningful content- like the pure white light through the crystal prism allowing the expression of all the glorious colors hidden within to bloom. This imagery is significant to me in several contexts, not the least being the seven chakra colors of Buddhism ( I'm in my blue period currently), but also musical reference-("you've been left on your own, like a rainbow in the dark"- Dio) and other connections. This connects many themes together for me and I will be revisiting this rainbow several times. Thank you 🙏🕊💙🌒🌕🌘 Namaste.
"Religion is about sex. Economic success is about sex. Physical beauty and capability is about sex. EVERYTHING is about sex. Except sex. Sex is about power." I don't remember where I found this (paraphrased) quote, but it sure seems to describe our current world.🙄
Some schools of Eastern thought agree with the idea of works of art, music, etc., arising from the same source as sexual expression as it is all creative and generative, it's simply a difference in which it manifests (some familiar with energy medicine might think of the energy of Svadisthana, the sacral chakra).
That is false. I been living most of my life at the southerner region of mexico where the prehispanic notion has endure somehow and a sugar cover tortilla has nothing to do with a buñuelo. In my opinion the spaniards heritage must had eclipsesed mexican culinary nuances in order to say that. Anyways I guess if you mind eating tortilla just like eating bread you are also right.

A sugar covered tortilla is a traditional Mexican dessert called a buñuelo
Thank you!
