  • Our Proven Winners Direct order is here. I will go through what we ordered and then explain what I do before I plant them in containers or in the landscape. Although you could plant them immediately, I have found that it's best to add a couple extra steps before doing so. Enjoy the video! Here's some links to what we ordered this year and what we use during the process...

      Thanks so much for taking time to share your comment. I had some people request a little explanation on what I do after I get them the last time I posted an unboxing video, so I thought it might be a good idea to share. Yes, go for it. If you pre order during late winter, you'll have better luck with higher quality plants. Some of the plants that I've ordered in late summer, have been plants that were sitting in the green house and had to be trimmed back before they shipped. Those plants took longer to bring back to full health. These early-spring new orders will do just fine. If you're going to order from PW Direct, the older plants are usually labeled as "ships now" varieties. The ones that are labeled "pre-order" are usually the newer plants. Just a little tip. Thanks so much for your sweet comment and for watching. Happy gardening. :)

    William, you are a great plant dad. I really enjoyed the tips you gave us and the reasons why you do it that way. I think the extra care you give them pays off in the long run.
    It gives you a bit of extra time with each plant, thus getting more enjoyment from each.
    The Superbena at your moms house is awesome. I am sure she is enjoying them.

      Manny, welcome back! I always enjoy reading your comments. Thanks so much for watching. You're so kind. Yes, it does provide extra time with the plants. Also, it allows me more time to plan and make sure what every I do is well thought out before I do anything in the yard. I tend to think about things a bunch before I commit to a plan. I guess I'm a little crazy that way. Hehe! Anyhow, thanks so much about the complement about my mom's verbena... they are still going strong and she's loving them. I actually just cut them way back last week, but I know they are going to flush out new growth beautifully. I will have to do an update video soon. Have a great day and until next time, happy gardening!

    Beauties I had gotten one from our local Lowe’s we do not get but maybe one or two varieties, I’m not sure happened but it died, I have not had any problem with anything else, I know some times plants don’t make it: will nice to see once you get them planted up

    • @williamsgardening
      @williamsgardening  3 месяца назад +1

      Oh, I know how you feel. I've had plants that don't do well right after planting. I kind of have that right now with some namesia that I planted. If you have your receipt, you can take the dead plant back to Lowe's. I know how it goes... I never seem to go through the trouble to do so. Anyhoo... I will be sure to share the planting video very soon. Thanks again for stopping by to comment.

    Keep the inspiration coming sir! 🙌🏾 I planted Superbena sparkling rosé in my (zone 8a NC) front yard this year because of your 2023 videos (placed in between 3 Firelight Tidbit hydrangeas). I absolutely love it! 🌸💖 I had 2 Superbena imperial blue plants overwinter and come back on their own this spring, so I'm encouraged to try more from that line. Looking forward to seeing your combinations this year. Side note: your music selections for the videos are wonderful...just as serene and relaxing as your gardens. 💚🎶🌸

      Yvonne! You are the best. I am so thankful to have people like you watching our channel, sharing amazing comments like yours. I am so glad you were inspired to try the sparkling rosé... I am sure they look amazing with your hydrangeas. What a great idea. I wish I had a bed of hydrangeas... BTW: those imperial blues were amazing for me. I know you're going to love them. Thanks for the complement about the music. That's exactly what I aim for.... something that won't turn people off but something that is enjoyable. As a music teacher... I want to make sure I choose well. :) Have a good one and I can't wait to hear about all your successes in your garden.

    Hi! Great video. I purchased some bubblegum pink SUPERTUNIAS. Before i pot them do u think i should trim them back first? Flowers and all? They are very very long and leggy. Or should i leav as is,?? Thankyou

    • @williamsgardening
      @williamsgardening  3 месяца назад

      Hi there. Thanks so much! So, you could absolutely leave them as is and still have a beautiful show of flowers, but I have found that giving them a trim helps to create a better growth habit that will eventually lead to more tight and robust plants. If it were me, I would give them a snip. 🌸🪴🌸🪴✂️✂️

    I just found your channel.. love it. What is best product to use for budworms on plants. Is there a granular to make it easier? 🌸🪴

    • @williamsgardening
      @williamsgardening  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi there and welcome. I’m glad you found our channel! Actually the spray does the trick and seems to be the easiest to use. I know that I’ve seen powder versions that have been used, but honestly, they seem very messy and difficult to apply. I haven’t seen a granular version, but I would assume that it wouldn’t be as effective because the budworms mainly stay on the plant and feed directly on the buds. Since granular would mainly fall to the soil, I’m not sure if the worms would seek it out to consume. BT or Bonide Captain Jacks are both organic and come in a concentrated version or pre mixed ready to apply version. I would try either one. Hope this helps. Have a great day! 🌸🪴😀
