Oxygen concentrator gets the oxygen from the ambient air. It separates the nitrogen from the air to deliver medical-grade oxygen. Water is not required to produce oxygen. So, you do not have to fill it with water. (If you do it'll ruin the machine.) If you want to add a humidifier bottle for increased moisture level, it is possible. However, most of the patients use portable oxygen concentrators without a humidifier bottle.
The higher the pulse flow the faster the battery runs down. My battery runs down even when it is turned off. Yes you can go lots of places you can't go carrying a tank, however you have to find electrical outlets and dropcords at all the places you go, have fun toting everything with you. If I had bought mine It would go back in a second, but Medicare provider bought mine and are ignoring my calls to bring back my old tank and take away this monstrosity of cords and hoses.
I have the Inogen 3 w/single strap case. Suggestion: You need to add a zippered or velcro secure storage pocket on the "over the shoulder, single strap carrying case". There is a small velcro strap I am guessing to secure the cannula when not in use. The pocket can be used to stow your cell phone, cannula, etc while you're doing your daily chores, at the food market and shopping. This would be very convenient and greatly appreciated.

I change mine every 2 weeks. I buy a box of 50 from Amazon for abnout $25.

All Inogen oxygen concentrators can be used 24x7.
What is the USB port used for?
USB port with for the service team to diagnose your unit when the unit comes in for repairs. Currently, it has no use for the users.
