- Both pedals are great! I canked pots and match (at least I’ve tried) the speed of both pedals. Just listen to the sound of pedals itself. You can alway low the volume and depth, raise speed or slow it down.

The Monterey Vibe has a better throb through the bass and low mids to my ears. Not being biased for owning one but I think it does haha...
It's actually the best vibe you can get at the price point for tone and features too, not to mention the micro enclosure size - there's nothing out there which is comparable so it's quite unique in the marketplace.

Just bought the Monterey vibe...£45 no brainer. Interesting that Jimi guy went thru the gamut of all our fav styles and tones with no reseting of any of the parameters on either pedal. The Monterey vibe is supposed to be able to recreate, chorus, rotary and phaser sounds with its 32bit DSP. Will be interesting checking that plethora of effects out. 😜🎸nice emulations of Floyd, Trower and band of gypsies 👍

You sound great, dude. Have you made any mods to your v22? I put a jensen speaker in mine and replaced the preamp tubes with ecc81's.. It has a bit more headroom and less fizziness when cranked now. Also, what kind of shoes you wearing? Ordered the nux based on our vid, btw.

Had the MXR for 2 years on my board and also a demo up on my channel. Excellent Vibe and surely underrated, because it lacks the fancy shi* like bulbs and photocells. Nonetheless, it does great. The NU-X sounds awesome. I’m highly surprised by the products of this company. Top notch, small footprint, excellent pricing and great sound with a good portion of that beloved throb 👍

Am I crazy or does the nux sound actually pretty reasonable?? It might not sound exactly like what Jimi played but it's just a different flavor and I'm okay with that. Pretty accurate and I love the tap tempo..
Edit screw it I picked one up thank you so much for the demo hopefully it can hold up to a couple shows a month this coming summer

@@nodrog5150 I can barely tell these apart. Any differences could be chalked up to attack and fingering. Sounds like the same DSP running the same patch to me.

What the deal with the micro USB port on the Monterey ? I ordered one and I'll have it soon but I don't want to connect it to the PC and fuck it all up, it's spouse to add some different sound or features ? I would appreciate someone explaining that to me
I have no idea... just don't use it and enjoy the pedal.
You need that to upgrade the firmware, this pedal has an hidden phaser sound that can be unlocked only upgrading the firmware from the website. It also has the tap tempo.
@@anacoreta9381 I did the upgrade, it adds a cool vibrato and tap tempo but where's the hidden phaser?
The Mxr might have less chorus applied than the Nux monterey as I heard it.
I had the mxr and sold it. Sounded way to "buzzy" and more like a phaser than a vibe.

I wanted to just get the MXR and be done with it, but heard they can be problematic. I'm here for the Monterey Vibe and really like what I'm hearing.
If Danno Chicken Salads weren't marked up to balls anymore, I'd just get one of those and rehouse it.
I have MXR from released day. Never had amy issues. Works perfect and sounds great.
I've had the black model MXR Uni Vibe on my board for years. Sounds great. Never any issues.
It's the vintage originals with the photo cells that are problematic. Those are not made by MXR.
after knowing and seeing reviews of the nux Monterey vibe, I finally decided to have it by buying it online, . This pedal really doesn't disappoint, it's very similar to the price quality of other brands that are more expensive, but I have a question in my mind, why the tap tempo.I can't use it, do I need to activate it via PC first, I don't know, . does anyone know how to activate the tap tempo? .Again, I conclude that according to my opinion, this Monterey vibe Nux is very good.
Might be a firmware update? A quick double tap gets mine working.
Do the firmware update, it adds a great vibrato effect as well.

@@pedalbr6888 Try it before buying if you can. If not, get it, if you don't like it, sell it. I have mine for long time. I bought it literally first day when appears online. I didn't have any problems and I like the sound. I recorded MXR countless times. You have more videos of MXR on my YT channel. Feel free to check them out. Also, you can find sound of my MXR on The Petting Blues Band's albums here on YT as well.

I can’t stand those phony MXR vibe pedals. Total b.s., just putting Jimi’s face on some “classic Hendrix” set of pedals doesn’t make for a Hendrix Univibe tone. I have the best of the best Univibes, and can honestly say that the new NUX Voodoo Vibe is better than all the MXR vibes with Jimi’s face on them. Marketing ploy madness…
