A viewer mentioned to me that I forgot to show the exact Torque specs for the center bolt. Torque the Bearing center bolt to 180nm (132.76ft-lbs) then an additional 180 degrees. Hopefully this helps, sorry everyone.
Also, you can do just the caliper pin bolts, you can leave the mounting bracket installed. One less set of bolts to worry about and saves a little time
Thats it? Which brand bearing did you get? Big price difference between Viaco vs. SKF (OEM) at FCP. When you say star bit, is that the same as triple-square. What size was used for the bearing nut? Thanks for the video, gives me confidence to do my 2016 MK7.
I would say probably an hour of activity working. Realistically it took me 2 hours because I was trying to make a video but it wasn’t really that much work itself.
Dealer probably recommends not rotating tires. I haven’t seen VW specifically mention it. Plus it causes no harm as all the tires are the same diameter and width.

Never put the tyres with the least grip on the rear, unless y like going backwards into a hedge!!
Thanks. 107kmi and rear wheel sounds.
You got your moneys worth out of that bearing
90° pick works great.
Nice!
Tried to do the 180° after torquing, I got 90° and broke my breaker bar with a jack handle as an extension on it. Just gonna send it like that 😂
Your breaker bar said “close enough” 🤣
What size spline for centre bolt is it
18mm triple square
How long did this take you? My shop is trying to charge me for 3 hours for 1 side.

Hi, what torque value do you use??
Which specific part do you need the torque value for I believe I named a few
@@RLTProperly the wheel bearing bolt torque. It has to be torqued to 180 Nm and then 180 degrees. You definitely didn’t do that.
@carscloseup I did after the video. I forgot to video the 180 degree part.
@@carscloseup I have Pinned a comment with the correct torque spec thank you so much for letting me know I left that off. Sorry about that.
They are called triple square.
I hate when I know a word and it just will not come out when I need it. Thanks for the assist 🥲
The manufacturer states do not rotate the tires
