This is the episode I never knew I wanted until I saw it. I have utmost respect for the Cirque du Soleil and I was always impressed by the band(s) performance. But I never tried to "Google" how it actually works for the Cirque musicians. It's quite intense. Hats off to Eden, true professional right there. And thank you Drumeo for all this great content.
Showband gig on cruise ships is a great way to accumulate professional experience and routine in reading charts and playing various styles of music. I just finished a 7 month contract on a ship and will start a 6 month contract in February, planning to audition for Cirque in the future.
My first Cirque show was Saltimbanco. The band was visible. The last show I saw was with Didi Negron and like you, I thought she crushed it. The platform she was on was rolled out twice during the performance. I was kind of sad that the band was not displayed. For me it took away from the whole experience.
Ever since I saw Alegria as an 11-year old kid in 1997 im hooked to Cirque. I worked at Alegria as a security guard in 2006 with my wife at the cash register. Its still a dream for me to play under the Big Top one day. Alegria and Volta are my favorite shows.
Saw Cirque Du Soleil way back sometime between 1996-1998 & the music is what struck me! With all respect to the acrobatic performers. The drumming was bloody unreal as were the guitars etc. The band was stunningly unbelievable and underappreciated in my opinion - at least back then. Well done Drumeo for having this guy on. Your's Sincerely, a frustrated non-drummer but a hobbyist guitar player.
This is so awesome! I love that you guys are promoting drummers in different fields besides bands and session. I hope this inspires other budding professional drummers to think outside the box.
Eden is simply an amazing drummer, but more, a person who has exceptional talent. His performance in Calgary was spectacular, and his session with Israel Strom at the Bell Studio was a showpiece of his improvisation capabilities. Israel views this to be a high-point in his young career. Cirque is the very best of such a moving dynamic performance. Our very best to Eden.
One of my favorite drumming videos is of a guy (I can’t remember his name) drumming for Barnum & Bailey. It blows my mind that they use live performers, but also something so simple as a circus or an acrobatics show still needs technically proficient performers to make the music come alive.
The guy is Chaz Chambers and is phenomenal. So many moving parts in the music and the sheer amount of it. He had a drum book but he seemed to have most of the stuff memorized.
Fantastic! Eden is an amazing musician, and this episode has given me even more of an appreciation for the complexities of a live Cirque du Soleil performance. Seriously impressive.
Never expected this. This is so vast, absolutely new, a very hard work, out of most drummers' mind and just awesome... Wonderful...Loved it. Thanks Drumeo.
I enjoy how Eden Bahar can set up the fill or break a few seconds before the trick the acrobats pull off...very cool reminds me of the old days of watching the acrobats between barnum and bailey good work Drumeo!
A few years ago, I had the privilege to see the Amaluna show from Cirque du Soleil in San Francisco sitting with the musical director. What an experience that was. A truly multicultural group, all female band that just kicked ass.
Wonderful! My present gig is in a form I never dreamed, but in the faintest details. Cirkus Pandemonium is a much smaller operation, but the music gives me a workout through any and all genres and percussion to assist fire dancers where I can chop all I want. In many ways it's better than anything I ever dreamed up from my ego.
That may have been the most interesting one of these I've seen yet! Makes me mad that I missed the performance when it came to my town! Couldn't afford the tickets at the time :( A very talented drummer! Precise and present. As a performer myself (not only stage but also working haunts and other costume-necessary positions) this was really fun to watch!
I’ve been to live shows before and absolutely loved the musical accompaniment as the musicians were highly skilled which makes alot of sense because of how skilled the acrobats are!!I used to play La Nuba(sorry I’m sure I misspelled that)for my daughter when she was very young g and it would calm her down when she cried or was upset!!Just a wonderful culture this production has built,I’m a big fan of this!!!
Over thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas, i see one of the main girls in the cirque solei at bellagio . I generally get to see her perform for free and i asked her about the drums etc and She got me an early entry . They actually perform all music live every show and I got to see the drums , its an electric Roland . I got to see the her show from the musicians box and it was so cool to see. I always thought that it was a recording to save money but no, no expense is sacrificed. I’m a very blessed guy to have a thing with her due to I’ve learned so much on how it works. Was surprised that she makes 200k and well deserved lol. Those musicians don’t make what she makes but that seems like such a unique fun job. I told her that if we get married she has to get me a drum gig with cirque hahahaha
I thought for sure at the very end of his drum solo that one of the hosts was going to say, "We need three more minutes..." 😂 Great video. That was amazing insight with the click track and call outs.
Hi drumeo! Great episode! If you would stop interumping Eden all the time and stop giggling and repeating the same jokes, it would even be an incredible episode!
This brought back a lot of memories. I played with Circus America. Didn't work with a click. All of the cues in our show were visual..." hand signals" or called out by the director. No inears. For me, I had to watch the performers and the director. It got to a point that he and I developed telepathy. Fun times! Great memories!
There’s a certain level a pro drummer like him achieves as far as timing and playing in the pocket even above the best of the metal/funk/jazz players. He played perfectly in time and still managed to add some fínese.
Quidam is a terrific live show. Full of world beats. Back in the day we used to test stage speakers with that CD. I can see how Eden got a taste for Cirque.
THIS IS WHAT WE WANT TO SEE!!! Great video. Very motivating to see someone who works and lives drums in such a unique way and really humble drummer. Please keep doing these in place of those cringe "Ive nvr heard this popular song but lets see what happens" videos. 2 hrs x3 night with live music director, dynamic music sheet and a line of dudes ready to take your job the moment you get sick. Insane skill.
I saw a performance when I was like 12 (dragged off by mom and sister) and I was absolutely fucking drooling the entire time the music, lights, HIGH FLYING stunts, story telling, and overall energy of the performance was stupefying! 10/10 recommend for any ages the performers are all elite level and imo some of the best at what they do, I'm willing to bet even the jugglers have some kind of juggling license or something.
Would love to see you guys get in touch with Andrea Vadrucci (aka Vadrum), one of the og YT drummers, and also a Cirque Du Soliel drummer at one point!
Great video. You guys should get Andre' Boyd on the show. He was the drummer for the Cirque Du Soleil show "Quidam". He's got great chops and his playing is ridiculous.
When he first did the playthrough I'm like, yeah, okay, nice parts, then he explained and demonstrated with the calls and I was like sitting here my jaw on the floor the first minute or so. Then I started looking at when they are calling the cues and I understood even before Eden explained it's on the landings (it was obvious once I looked for it). But man it must take a lot of mental energy to concentrate on the calls and always play the right part and especially think outside of 4/4 since it's pretty much 1/4 all the time.
I had no idea these gigs even existed... what a cool job.
Showband gig on cruise ships is a great way to accumulate professional experience and routine in reading charts and playing various styles of music.
I just finished a 7 month contract on a ship and will start a 6 month contract in February, planning to audition for Cirque in the future.
Just wondering what company did you go through to get your cruise gig?
(Brazilian) Circus drummer here. I identify so much with everything he said. It's very nice seeing other people sharing the same kind of story. ♥️
Awesome! I went to a Cirque show years ago in Miami, Didi Negron was the drummer.... she absolutely crushed it!! Ya'll should have her on the show.
I dont know how many drummers they use but i have seen them with a dutch drummer Emile Cleuver on drums, daughter of a teacher of mine back then
My first Cirque show was Saltimbanco. The band was visible. The last show I saw was with Didi Negron and like you, I thought she crushed it. The platform she was on was rolled out twice during the performance. I was kind of sad that the band was not displayed. For me it took away from the whole experience.
@@TheDevnul Agreed!

As a Fellow Circus drummer this was Awesome! Drumeo drummer for a Circus was such an awesome fun gig!
Solo was approaching Palmer-like precision. Eden is a very present individual. Thanks to all involved!
And I just wanted to check for a minute or two what this was all about. I ended up watching the whole 50 minutes. Respect to Eden!
איזה תיפוף מדהים! עדן אתה מקצוען אמיתי, השראה ענקית. תמשיך בדרך שלך🤘

I'm privileged to have and interview with ' The 🥁 Department as the first Israeli drummer in Drumeo representing Cirque du Soleil .
The discipline and desire required is amazing.

Hearing him describe his aspirations etc in Israel as a young man almost made me tear up!!Congrats brother!!
Pit drummers are some of the best musicians on the planet.
Fantastic! Eden is an amazing musician, and this episode has given me even more of an appreciation for the complexities of a live Cirque du Soleil performance. Seriously impressive.
Shalom shalom from fellow drummer whos been to Israel in 1991 during gulf war great playing love circus to Sean from warwick Qld Australia
Never expected this. This is so vast, absolutely new, a very hard work, out of most drummers' mind and just awesome... Wonderful...Loved it. Thanks Drumeo.
What beautiful energy on and off the kit! Eden the great 🤘
I enjoy how Eden Bahar can set up the fill or break a few seconds before the trick the acrobats pull off...very cool reminds me of the old days of watching the acrobats between barnum and bailey good work Drumeo!

Bloody amazing . What a great musician,drummer. 🎉
What an amazing session, for me the best Dum Department session,
This was awesome עדן אתה מדהים
My favorite of these I’ve watched. Thank you Eden, Cirque, and Drumeo
JUST AN AWESOME GUY!! CONGRATS!
I enjoyed this so much..the tune still rings in my ears during the interview

I saw Eden Bahar play in Kooza in Montreal a couple years back; he's an incredible drummer!
Respect Eden! Loved the insight on the way this production works and you're doing an amazing job
Amazing Drummer! Unbelievable!
I saw his show in Melbourne, Australia a few years ago. What an awesome show and great music.
Great show! Again! Such a fine talented young man!!
אחי אתה מטורף! גאווה 👏🏻🫡
This is great! Thanks so much!
I was recently thinking of getting into playing drums for the cirque shows in vegas, this video came at the right time
Wonder how the Benefits, Health Ins., Pension etc.are in that Industry?
That may have been the most interesting one of these I've seen yet! Makes me mad that I missed the performance when it came to my town! Couldn't afford the tickets at the time :(

An excellent musician and brilliant interview. Drumeo always keeps it fresh.
Guide track was so interesting!
I would have enjoyed hearing who his favorite drummers are. Really fun interview and what a fascinating job to have as a drummer.
Saw him last summer and he was AWESOME!!
Kooza was the first show I saw when it first came out. Amazing drumming.
That answering questions while spinning the stick was rather cool.

Excellent! I saw Kooza in 2007 on Randall's Island in New York and actually bought the CD because the music was so good!
He must be trained as a jazz drummer. The precision is wild
Brilliant!
Theatrical and circus music are amazing. The former drummer of CDS, Alex Reis, was really good as well. He performed in Corteo
Very very cool! So interesting! Fantastic player. 😎
This was a real interesting show guys. I loved the behind-the-scenes look at how the cues were communicated. Never thought of being a circus drummer!
i love you eden you are the best
Always loved the C du S on TV and was wowed the by the music and musicianship.
That's fascinating! Hadn't even wondered about all this - and now I know!! Thanks for posting.
One of the best videos ever! Chapeau 🙏

Frank Zappa would direct his band this way as well. Hand signals for everything.

saw that Cirque show in Montreal! awesome performer!!! love the steady evolution in the drum solo!
The drums sound so crisp!
Pretty sure he's saying "ska beat" or "ska" when going into the hi-hat, bass drum part
Wow!....just wow!...that quick solo, MY GOD MAN!
Super interesting episode thank you. Eden is an awesome professional.
Now that's a great a drum film Y'all should make more circus drum films on drumeo and all that stuff
Would love to see you guys get in touch with Andrea Vadrucci (aka Vadrum), one of the og YT drummers, and also a Cirque Du Soliel drummer at one point!
That Super Mario Medley in the mid 2000's is one of the best covers of it's time!
That pocket !!!!
I actually watched this whole episode it was so interesting!
Muchas felicidades, Eden. I saw you live in México city in 2022. Amazing job, amazing solo you did! Saludos desde México.
Wowwwwww this is so cool. Like everyone else I didn't even consider that this was a thing.
I LOVE this episode
10 thumbs up for this show.WOW!!!
This is so cool! I've been sending audition tapes to Cirque du Soleil for 10 ten years- most recently 2 weeks ago for tye live Nashville auditions
Great video. You guys should get Andre' Boyd on the show. He was the drummer for the Cirque Du Soleil show "Quidam".
He's got great chops and his playing is ridiculous.
Great work ,Great Info.-Thankz
Bello.💎💎💎💎💎💎

One of the funniest episodes!
Just saw the show a couple days ago. He was fantastic...as was the entire band!
Stay till the end! That outro!
One of the best episodes and inspiringggggggg❤❤❤
🔥🔥 Solid interview and vidéo!
Fascinating
Great Show !
Epic Drummer
Phenomenal!
Excellent!
Pretty creative the name of the section for a RUclips channel about drumming
This was awesome!
He’s dope!
Bit weird how they both kept going on about partying all night. Some people are pros.
Outstanding artist....🇮🇱 🙏
