    I really like gold hardware on white and black guitars. This model is close enough to where I'm happy with the gold hardware. Tried one out a Guitarcenter yesterday and I knew I had to have one... but not a single one of the pickups worked lol (probably a busted volume pot). Now I wait for one for the factory and hope for the best.

    • @EJBGuitar

      Bad pot, or maybe an output jack issue? Strange.

    • @Returnality
      @Returnality Год назад

      @@EJBGuitar Possibly, but the jack seemed fine. I was able to get the tech to open up the back plate and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with wiring. It's absurdly unlikely that all three pickups were busted, Dimarzio's QC is pretty tight.

    I had a S621QM I traded up to this guitar. I should be receiving my AZ47P1QM after Thanksgiving from Guitar Center. Can't wait. I am in the same ball park about the Gold hardware. Reminds me of all the gold trim that every Cadillac and Lexus had from the early 90's. Not a fan, but it didn't sway me from purchasing the guitar. However, after seeing your video, I really like the mods you did to your guitar with the black hardware, topping it off with pearl buttons. It is very tasteful and looks more professional, how it should of came from factory IMO. Great video. New subscriber. Could I ask where you ended up purchasing the upgrades you made? Thank you.

    Beautiful guitar! How do you think this AZ compares to the new Ibanez RG neck-thru you have hanging on the wall?

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  Год назад +1

      Two different animals! AZ is a little more “traditional”, RG a little more “shreddy”. Both are killer though. I have a video on the RG here too if you wanna check that out. I think the electronics in the AZ are a bit more versatile. The RG being neck-thru has a super comfortable neck heel (or lack of heel really).
      I’d be extremely happy with either of them to be honest.

      @@EJBGuitar Thanks so much, it's really helpful! I'm stuck between these two. I have a Charvel Pro mod which is a great guitar but the neck is a little too wide and thin for me. I'm guessing that rules the RG out with it's Wizard neck?

    I have this same guitar but I’ve noticed that the neck pickup has a hum that resembles 60 cycle hum. When I touch the strings it goes away!!! Thing is, no other position has this issue? Does your guitar sound that way?
    Awesome playing btw!

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  6 месяцев назад +1

      No, mine doesn’t have a hum like that. Strange that yours does, but if touching the strings (or I assume any of the metal parts?) makes it go away, it sure seems like some kind of ground issue to investigate.
      Check the ground wire going to the trem claw, and see if anything looks loose/disconnected in the control cavity.

    Nice video ! It helps me buying this guitar and I'm very happy with it. Like you, I don't like gold hardware, and I want to change it to chrome. Regarding the dimensions of the T1502 (10,5mm string spacing), did you choose the Gotoh NS510T-FE1 model or the Gotoh 510TS-FE1 (with 10,8 mm string spacing apparently)? Both are compatible ? Thanks !

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  Год назад +1

      My trem is the NS510TS-FE1 model, and it is working perfect in my guitar.
      The other version might work fine as well just with slightly altered string spacing, but I can’t attest to that one, only that the one I have is fine.

  • @toemasmeems
    @toemasmeems 2 года назад

    MAAAN youre crazy for going with the 510 with the T1502 lol i get not wanting the gold hardware though, not for everyone for sure. I have this guitar and it's absolutely amazing but I'm pretty sure my nut isn't slotted quite right since I hear a pinging sound when I bend or use the trem and also my D string just comes out of the slot when bending below the 5th fret. Ibanez has been great and letting me use my warranty but I haven't sent it because I'm having fun playing it too much! Honestly the best 6 string guitar neck i've ever felt and I've played alot (I work at guitar center lol)

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  2 года назад +1

      Nah, 510 is the better bridge IMO due to the arm, and I like the saddle design better too.
      If you’re hearing pinging, you need to do some work to your slots…no need to send it to Ibanez, just do it yourself.

      @@EJBGuitar I might look into doing that but at the same time I just want my stuff to work at 1400 dollars, I might just refund it and get a Charvel Pro Dk24 HSH because that is something I don’t mind having to work on being it’s half the price (with my discount)

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  2 года назад +1

      Yeah I get that for sure. I personally have had better luck with Ibanez nuts over Charvel nuts as a whole (my Govan Charvel nut was perfect but at that price it better be!).

      Any trem equipped guitar can have tuning issues if you don’t know how to set it up. I can only imagine whoever says that doesn’t know how to set up a guitar or didn’t take the time to do it…mine stays in tune just fine.

      @@EJBGuitar especially people are complaining az series im looking for it but im confused

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  2 года назад

      Yeah I get it…it’s a floating trem so set up is key. Providing that the nut is cut right (which the nut on mine was) and as long as you adjust the bridge correctly, I wouldn’t imagine you’d have trouble…those are the two main culprits in tuning issues in my experience. I tune to e-flat so obviously have to usually do a setup for every guitar, even when a guitar is setup good initially, as this one was.
      I usually don’t worry too much about people claiming a guitar won’t stay in tune if it’s not someone I trust personally as there could be unknown variables - too new (or too old) strings, not setup yet…or maybe not setup right for the particular player - some have a very light touch, others are more heavy handed…maybe just one nut slot needs a little touch up with a file, etc.
      I wish you luck in your hunt!

      No problem! There are a ton of useful setup videos here on RUclips…it’s not as hard as you might think…I say there’s no time like the present to learn to do good setups!! It’s very rewarding to do your own setups (and cheaper!), and who would know better how to setup your guitar than yourself?!?
      I have a couple Prestige Ibanez guitars and honestly I found these new Premiums as good as them.
