My home is full of fall colors. It's a feel good to me. My kitchen curtains are fall pumpkins! Nothing cold and industrial in my home. Grandma's quilts, Aunt's afghans, warm, inviting colors. It's our home, not a house. I still have a 1980 color CONSOLE TV!
1. Get dressed 2. Make your bed 3. Develop a discipline 4. Focus on what you value 5. Embrace your weirdness (opinions are like bu**holes, everybody has one and they all stink 🤣) 6. Budgeting and Frugality 7. Find your niche in housekeeping (thank you for this, reminding me that I do not need to master someone else's area of expertise. My niche is organizing and tidying. I am not a master of sewing and mending or cooking and baking.) -1. Stop rushing into the next season -2. Stop being so busy (learn to know when to stop)
I am a single mother who wanders between working 20 and 48 hours per week. I can tell you that working more, doesn't result in much more money at all! Paying for tutoring, or art classes, take-out-food, or pick-me-up $5 coffee on the go is what busy working women blow their whole paycheck on. Staying at home allows you to cook at home, plan carefully, and take full advantage of free activities (that cost time instead).
Me too, girl. I feel like there is not enough being talked about on this. Home making tips for the full time worker would be awesome! Or maybe it's not out there because it just doesn't actually happen. 🤷♀️
I totally agree with making the bed, but make sure YOU AIR IT FIRST. Pull the covers back, go do your bathroom stuff, then come back and make the bed. You lose a lot of sweat during the night, and it creates a perfect environment for bedbugs and other bacteria. Air your bed.
Fully agree. I do the same. I wake up, pull my covers down to the foot of the bed, letting it air out while I get ready for the day- shower, dress, breakfast, makeup, pack my work and lunch bags- then make my bed as the last task before I leave the house. Game changer😇
My nan taught me to do this and I still do it now. I throw the covers back, do my morning 'ablutions', get my coffee brewing, get dressed, THEN make the bed. Doing this before I eat breakfast and drink my coffee means I don't forget to go back and do it but it also gives time to air while I do the prep.
Hi. I am a teacher in South Africa. In my 50tees...2 grown children. Although I'm working I love homemaking!! Weekends I sew quilts make my own jams and canned products. Also keep 4 hens and a rooster in the backyard...wish I had time for a vegetable garden!! Enjoy your homemaking!!!
I’m probably not this woman’s demographic- I’m a career woman and I don’t have kids (it just never happened and there are some possible fertility issues) but still have a large family and a partner I love. I absolutely love her videos and watch them in the mornings while getting ready. Her advice at the end of this video hit me!
Same, married without kids and now 50 so that won't change. But there are some great tips for anyone here - if you are your own 'homemaker' then you don't need to rely on someone else to take care of you.
I love how you have found your authentic self and adopted somewhat of a kiss my … hinder - attitude in a healthy way! Keeping it real and true to yourself will always bring you true happiness!
I was applauded by my kiddo's allergist for not making their beds (or encouraging them to make their beds, since they were quite young), so I can't agree with you on that one 😂 I make my bed later in the day, and according to the allergist, it's best to throw back the covers and allow the sheets to air out a bit (a term my grandmother used quite often) before making the bed. I could go into his detailed description of dust and mites, but let's just leave it here...
I still “make my bed”, but sometimes my made bed has the covers folded back at the foot of the bed, letting the sheets air out. I can’t stand walking into my bedroom to a bed that is crumpled and in disarray. 😂
It’s better to wash your covers often and make your bed first thing in the morning! Natural materials do not provide a place for dust mites to live. Wool, Cotton, Latex are naturally anti-microbial.
I enjoyed this video. We had 3 boys under 3 . My life was feed them and wear them out! When the children were small all i got done in a day was the meals, the dishes and the washing. Housework was just tidy the individual messes. This gave me time to play with my children and genuinely enjoy being a Mum.
The "getting dressed in the morning" point is important, and I would just add that wearing something you feel "put together" in is key too. Wearing something that makes me feel classy and beautiful definitely helps put a spring in my step. I wear lots of flowy, comfy, midi dresses because I feel comfortable in those, but it could look differently depending your tastes. If I went into an office everyday I would try to look nice so I want to do so for my family.
You inspired me! Instead of waiting for motivation to cut sugar back out of my eating habits, I'm making the CHOICE now. Choosing discipline over waiting for motivation. 10pm now, so making the choice to stick with my plan tomorrow and stop waffling around on it. Thanks!!!!
I just cleaned my house from top to bottom yesterday. And was cleaning again today as I was watching this video. So the moment you siad (22:57) " the 2nd thing is not knowing when enough is enough and when to stop " I felt that 😅 ❤
Confession. I love cream, beige, magnolia, tan, orange, green and aubergine as colours for my home. I can't bear the obsession with grey. It's institutional to me. I want a serene home. My head is so busy that I want calm in my home. You made me laugh. Subscribed.
My kids tease me that gray is one of my favorite colors 😂. I heard recently the term “millennial gray.” I guess a lot if people my age do like the gray
New subscriber The invitation to stay in your current season is really important, especially with your children. I tried so hard with my sons to be very present. We intentionally had me be at home, and I read to them every night, didn't have TV (just one hooked up for PBS and to watch VHS tapes/DVDs) and we did a lot of hands on projects. Our consumer world loves the next season. I have a Poshmark closet, and sold on ebay since 1998, so absolutely see the big push in society of "let's be bored with what is current and LOOK AHEAD." It's important to look at right now with your kids, because even when you are really careful to do so, next thing you know they are both over 6' tall and in college. Ask me how I know. Take a ton of photos and make sure to get yourself in them, even if YOU think you have flaws. In the future, they won't see the flaws in those precious photos: They'll see the mom that made sure to read to them and bake cookies for their friends. Again, ask me how I know. Even you won't see the flaws so much years later: you'll see how much you loved those boys.
Angela, you are an extremely intelligent young woman. It is hard to believe you do not have a PHD in counseling. You speak like a rabbi combined with Dear Abby. Your discourse is modern and classic, perennial. Your rhetoric is powerful, coherent, persuasive, and spontaneous. I am watching your [erfprmance on this channel with great interest. I am almost 70, but you are teaching me things. Thank you for that. This is the kind of teachers and leaders we need. I wish you the best in life.
100 percent agree with you about the seasons "changing" way ahead of time. No one is embracing the season we are in or just waiting it out. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been thinking the same.
Thank you for these reminders. Our modern way of life is so overwhelming to me, and probably others, that I often have to remind myself to live in the moment and be grateful for my blessings. You have a wonderful way of saying "let's be real" in your content. I appreciate that!
Ok, hold up! I have never swept my baseboards. I always get on my hands and knees and scrub the baseboards with a wet rag. I never thought to just sweep them mind blown❤
Another terrific video, Angela! So many of your video’s really hit home for me, and I am a wife of 51 years and mother to three grown daughters (and a grandmother!). Rushing the seasons is one of my pet peeves. I want to enjoy each one to the fullest, whether that is a season of the year or a season of my life! Fall is my favorite time of year, and Thanksgiving my favorite holiday. As I am now in the Autumn of my life , I intend to enjoy both to the fullest! May God bless you and your family ♥️🙏
Thank you for sharing about how our society is out of balance with rushing into the next season. I 100% agree. I don't watch these videos until I'm ready for that season/holiday.
Thanks so much for elevating the job of homemaker. It all still has to be done whether you have an outside job or not. Also, a little note on getting dressed in the morning. On top of your other points, let's remember that dressing properly gives the job the respect it deserves.
I agree so much with you. Although I do abide by the tradwife trend, I have my own style and will stick to it even though it’s not fashionable anymore.
you have no idea how validated i feel. i purchased around 50 jockey white t shirts, cut the bottom a little and that's what i wear 99% of the time. what a relief!!! i livein fla so it works for me. i never colored inside the box and YOU ARE CHARMING! THANK YOU SO MUCH! cookie cutter, lips, eyebrows ,hair. not for me. the last 10 yrs. i gave it up. i am 73, look alot younger and feel like 45. thank you, lov,jen haven't been to the beauty shop in over 10 yrs!! i love it. thank you so much, lov,jen
I love how you pointed out that being a homemaker doesn’t mean you have to fit into a box. We all would be different because our families needs are different. And isn’t that the whole point of being a homemaker, to be that what your family needs,we’re not trying to portray an image to suit the rest of society. Love this video!
I am 80 years old and am a cancer survivor. I am blessed being able to live at home but must admit that I let some things slide. I needed this video. Thanks for sharing! You have inspired me!
One good practice to learn and teach our kids. We should all learn to pick up after ourselves. Homemaking is not a joy ride so all members of our families should pick up after themselves no matter if You're a man or a woman. Certainly a small child can do less than someone older but homemakers are not maids and should be respected. 😊
It's not social media that caused rushing seasons-stores have been dragging out winter clothes in July and summer stuff in Feb. for eons. Even when I worked in retail back in 1980.
I have now watched this video multiple times, and I appreciate you and your thoughtful approach to these sit down videos. There is so much kindness in the way you put these advice videos together. I really feel like you are trying to help the world fall in love with homemaking again. I am so thankful for your content.
i 100% agree about the seasons of life topic. I had to stop watching "decorate with me" videos because they happen sooooo early and also, i dont understand how people have that much money to spend every season on all new decor?! i mean, good for them, not good for me! lol
I really enjoyed this--especially number 4. We hear and see so much from outside our own home, and that can make us feel like we SHOULD be doing things that aren't for us. I struggle with this, because my life isn't a cookie cutter anything. I work in healthcare PRN but I am 80% homemaker, I don't homeschool but we are strong Christians, I love to be in the garden and tend to the animals but I don't always cook from scratch...so on and so on. It's hard when you think you should do "better" or more of something you already do at a level you feel good about.
So many videos out there are pulling us in different directions. It feel alike a pendulum being pulled from one extreme to the other with all the videos out there. This video was a good be centered reminder. Embracing weirdness I love! I am not a minimalist because I like to be prepared for harder times. I am a stay at home mother of seven but I can’t or won’t wear a dress every day because it isn’t practical and life is busy and hard work… I can’t make every single thing from scratch… because i just don’t have that time. I can’t keep a sourdough starter alive to save my life…. But I can make a mean yeast bread! and as much as I want to I can’t homeschool. So I send mine to school and then go over everything they learn at school and then supplement at home. So thank you. A good reminder to be the best mother and wife I can be with my own situation! We spend so much time watching people live their own dreams on RUclips that we forget to live our own dreams sometimes! Life was so much more simpler without RUclips wasn’t it? We weren’t comparing as much and we were living and enjoying our lives to the fullest. Let’s get back to that!
That's funny. It doesn't get to the 30's until late Autumn here in America. 😀 She doe have a good point. The Home Depot has Christmas decorations up before Halloween. When I was a kid, my mom forbade any Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving dinner was over.
There was a great book written in the late nineties by Jonni McCoy. Miserly Moms. She and her husband both worked but when she started having children she wanted to quit. Encouraging and inspiring how she did it. Mostly with cooking from scratch. worth reading.
Yes! I love the encouragement to embrace the season of the year, season of life we are in, etc. I've missed so much in the past by anticipating the next thing waaay before it's necessary. I want to love and enjoy every season of life!! Living to the fullest! Living for what's next is not an enjoyable way for me personally to live. And yes, contentment is key
I agree on "rushing seasons", specifically for life. What happened when people expected less from you simply because you have a young family? Oh you're hosting people for dinner, but not enough cups? That's okay, some of us will use a jar! Instead so many young families are told, "You don't own ___?! Gasp! You should go buy it!" There's so much pressure to have all the things RIGHT NOW, no matter your season of life. It's killing people's finances and peace.
Sometimes when you step out of the box, even others enjoy it for your authenticity. I fell in love with a pink modern mid century couch and 2 chairs. I could afford it and I decided that's what I am going to do. My living room is "different". It's me and I LOVE ❤️ it. Also all of my friends love it, and thell other friends so that they can by and check it out 😊😊😊😊
Thank you for this video! I love this. Been struggling with doing things specially folding laundry after washing for a family of 4. And I totally agree with the home decor. I love my black couches and it makes me happy every time I see them. Everywhere I go, I see grey couches and that’s okay, but I believe everyone feels pressured to have that same aesthetic.
So good, especially your concluding 2 thoughts of what not to do. Embracing the season you're in and not rushing to the next thing.... learning this the hard way as my best friend fights cancer while raising a family. I know she would preach that sermon!
Man, it really hit me when you said to find your niche as a SAHM. I can cook but it isn't anything great. I recently swapped chores with my husband: now I care for the chickens and he cooks dinners. I always have been hard on myself for not being a decent cook, but I can bake muffins, whip up pancakes, and sourdough, and brew kombucha. I can sew enough to patch clothes, crochet hats and scarves and washcloths, etc. Also, I love the point not to miss the life you have for the tasks you feel you need to accomplish. I'm more of a task oriented person, so this was a good reminder. Thanks for the great tips. Just recently found your channel and can't wait to see your other content. ❤
Stop rushing through the seasons! Thank you, this has been on my mind a lot these past couple of years. I shared a similar sentiment with an employee at a Bath and Body back in June or July when they were already putting out their fall scents. She tried to entice me into buying one, but I told her I wasn't ready to move on from summer yet.
Aww the last time I've heard of boll and branch was from the late and great Rush Limbaugh RIP I think my branch of housewivery is prepping. It's becoming a hobby of sorts. 🤔😃👍
I really like the tip about what you do now being a gift to future you. I know if I wake up in the morning to a clean kitchen it will mean so much more to morning me than the episode of TV I watched ❤
I am not a homemaker, but many (if not all) of these things are principles I live by as a mom employed full time outside of my home. It’s also how I got through graduate school while working full time. As long as you are choosing your vocation in alignment with your values and priorities (and not being forced into a life you don’t have a say in), there is abundant value in what you do, whether or not your labor is financially compensated. ❤
Whoa! Did not expect the sheets and sets on the website you mentioned to be $500 and more. Whew. That’s not a “splurge,” that’s a savings depleting 🤦🏻♀️ Happy for you that you can afford it though! They look soft and comfy!
Try to remember that it's important to focus on the moment too. So even if I have something I need to accomplish for later me I need to realize the chores will always be there but my kids won't and they are my focus too.
Wow Angelia your content is super relatable. Thanks for all your effort. I was feeling overwhelmed as its holidays and im working from home and managing 4 kids. I was feeling down because of the messes and came across your videos. Im so glad i did! Thanks so much ❤
I have always dealt with holidays how i want, often feeling like i start holidays earlier than it shouod be started. However i feel like this year, i want to linger in fall, and im watching this at the end of October and im NOT ready for Christmas AT ALL. So that holiday will come when we are all ready.
Thank you for this video, it confirms what I've found works for me. I heard the comment you said "evening (name) doing something for next day (name)" I heard this for the first time by Kallie on But first, coffee - it finally after so many years (60) clicked in my brain. I started with dishes every pm for tomorrow me! Not only did it work, but my hubby so greatly appreciated it! Then it continued so that now I have an am & pm routines that help us out. Even my hubby now has taken to making the pot of coffee ready every pm before he comes to bed to turn in the next am. (He'll even bring me a cup in the am before I get up!❤) I'm glad that I can embrace my weirdness! I've always been more eclectic taste & who cares what others have.❤
Angela, thank you so so much for what you said (and in such a wise way) about rushing seasons! AmenAmenAmen! ☺️. Even aside from that, tho, I really admire you and always enjoy your videos, your humor, and your family values!
I love this video and advice you give. You are always honest and sincere, which draws me to your videos and you provide sound advice that is so relatable. Thank you for your content. The last point of this video hit home with me. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the to do’s. Thank you for the reminder of what truly matters. ❤
On the subject of making the bed - there are many who believe that your bed should be aired out. The way I get around this is to make up the bed nicely, then pull back the bedding so that it gets well aired. Then the next time you get by the bedroom, just pull up the covers. And don't forget to open the window.
I just happened to see your video and watch it and I’m glad I did. You were right on about Boll & Branch! I bought some towels from there and they are the best ones I’ve ever had!
We, as a society, have become way too critical and openly opinionated. It needs to stop. Thanks for this video. It just reinforces my own thoughts that I've tried to tell myself, to just be me, weirdness and all.
Thank you so much for this video. It has helped me a-lot to hear your take on things. I am disabled and living alone now since my son moved out and will be getting married. I had an operation Thursday and I’m still recovering. But, I started stressing over getting out and going to church and making sure my home is clean and tidy when all I feel like doing is laying around and recuperating. Your video made me feel better about things. God bless you. ❤️🙏🏻✝️
PLEASE take the time you need to rest & recooperate. If you need to skip church, skip church. You can watch online, read your Bible, pray, listen to music, etc. Or you can rest some more. I believe that healing and taking care of our bodies is being a good steward of the body God gave us, and there are times when that needs to be priority number one. I’m not saying this to “preach” at you, but to encourage you to do what is best for you, and know that it’s okay to rest and heal. I hope your recovery goes well, and that you are back to doing the things you love soon! 🙏☺️
@@Future-zx9ts Thank you so much. I guess I feel guilty if I miss church especially. And, no I don’t believe you are preaching to me. I truly do appreciate your concern. God bless you. ❤️🙏🏻✝️
Thank you so much for being honest about being our true selves! I've been on the struggle bus because the other moms in my son's glass are the ones chasing careers, gray sofas, Cafe appliances, etc. Here I am rolling up in a 2010 Ford Edge, just got done helping my husband with the farm or doing plumbing bookwook for family the family business, wearing jeans and a t-shirt with my sparkling cowbgirl boots or comfy Berks. I get a lot of passive aggressive remarks because we decide for me to stop teaching to stay home with our children. We knew that that there was no way our family could function with both of us having demanding careers. My husband is full-time fire fighter, has a plumbing business with his uncle, and we have a farm...so someone needed to be the constant for the baby.
YEEESSSSSS to being in the season! Oh my gosh! When i see people decorating for fall at the end of July i just cringe! Jist enjoy where you are PLEASE! And i say this as someone who LOVES FALL. But i love it when its actually here, not when we are forcing it in the middle of summer. Thank you for saying this. I hope people listen.
Thank you Angela for being the first person on RUclips saying how problematic it is that seasonal content/tips/inspiration is coming earlier and earlier each year. I have actually never before really stressed about Christmas. Of course it is very special time of the year and can get busy. But we have always kept it very simple and enjouyed the few simple things we love to do: baking gingerbread, putting up the christmas lights, preparing presents, building snowmen outside... I have really enjoyed all of that even though there has sometimes been a bit last minute rush to get kids teachers presents ready in time etc. But actually first when I started to follow some mom-youtubers, I heard that Christmas anxiety was a thing. How they talked about planning everything two months ahead already in October made me feel very stressed. I seriously have been thinking if I want to watch their content at all during the autumn season (even though I like them very much), because it feels that all this talk about Christmas-stress is been put on me and making me anxious too, if I hear it too much. That the beauty and enjoyment of the autumn is almost stolen away from me. So thank you for bringing this up, I really appreciate it. Lots of blessings from Sweden, I just found your channel today and it has been a joy😊❤ The last tip was right on point!
Focusing on what you actually care about is so important, and I feel like that connects very closely to knowing when you’ve done “enough”. I *wish* I was one of those people who had a spotless house that was impeccably decorated for every holiday, but I don’t care enough about that to actually *be* that person. I had to learn that it’s okay to just have a house that’s regularly cleaned but might not look it (children live here 😆), and it’s okay to put up one wreath to cover the entire fall season and call it good. That’s enough to satisfy me, and then I might still have time to, I dunno, sleep or something. Maybe even talk to the other people who live here instead of cleaning. 😂
When I got married, my husband made me a stay at home wife so I could finish my BA and we got pregnant about 2 months into marriage, but I remember going into homemaking with the attitude of "this is gonna be cake" I was very much so incorrect. Now that I am working and earning my MA, I miss being present for my family...
I was just enjoying the video, nodding and agreeing nicely with you and then - bam 💥! Came your last point. Thank you. I am glad you brought it short and crisp but honestly, I think that is what we as mothers and homemakers need to hear and I kind of wanted you to expand on it! Thank you!
I guarantee that part of the reason “fall decor” comes sooner is because in our minds, fall and school starting go hand in hand. They keep starting school earlier and earlier. I started after Labor Day. My oldest kids start at the end of August. My youngest just started in mid August and a school district near us started a week before she did. It’s ridiculous.
Moms are superheros, stay-at-home moms and working moms... I don't know how you do it. The way I have made my bed has changed. I used to bring all bedding up, but now I fold it halfway down my bed. After reading/watching articles and videos about how dust mites enjoy being under bedding. Folding the bedding down at least half of the bed is airing out.
You’re authentic positive vibes have warmed my heart 💛 I saw your other videos of frugal habits our grandparents followed and i love that you have embraced ways from the past that people just don’t follow anymore. Keep up the great work! 🙌🏻😊 From, a new fellow subscriber
I checked. Did I subscribe? Yes I did! I am hearing more sense about this subject than I have heard in a long time!. I love your advice about living in the season! I've been trying to live like that for a long time. It really does drive me a little ( a little) crazy to have the next season pushed on me. For instance, I do love Autumn, but I make it like a mental discipline to see the summer through to the end. Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to the Fall, but I hold back on breaking out the Fall decore until on or after the first day of Autumn. The stores are getting worse about this every year ( am I imagining it?). I also discipline myself to wait until we're at least a week into December before I start decorating for Christmas. I may use that time to put away the Autumn decore and clean. Then after Christmas day, It makes me sad to see people in such a hurry to get rid of Christmas. The 12 days of Christmas STart on Christmas day. I'm not Catholic, but I'm going to keep Christmas the whole 12 days! I listen to Christmas music, do some Christmas baking that maybe I didn't have time for leading up to Christmas day. Thank you Angie! ~ Heather ~
I would love for you to post a video on “free ways to enjoy your life” I know that may sound odd but I find it so hard to remember what fun is and how to have it these past few years.
social media isn't the only place they're jumping ahead to the next seasons. I went into Walmart just a few days ago (2nd week of January) and they already have their Valentine's Day stuff up. What makes me upset the most is that in Canada our school year ends at the end of June and begins in September, but go to Walmart and it's the last week of July they have back-to-school stuff up. It's hard because I don't want to go there and buy the stuff, but if I don't, by the end of August everything is almost gone and it's slim pickings.
I have so much I want to share about this. This video was very relatable for me. Before I was married and had kids, before you tube was a big thing and before instagram and influencers, I always had company. Dinner parties, themed events, so much fun. My space was small. But now, 12-15 years later and we have a house and kids and all the things I was waiting for, I don’t entertain as much. Having young kids has a little to do with it but also the pressure of, does my house look right? Will I be judged bc I don’t have a white and bright kitchen? My kitchen is beautiful but it isn’t the current trend. And I just have this in the back of my mind I guess. Oh, I don’t know how to properly style my mantle and feel like it should look a certain way. I have come to realize these things are in my subconscious. You talked about having the new trends and for example we bought fabric couches but really we love leather. We regret it so much bc we are never comfortable and it will be a long time before we can get new ones. We felt like no one has leather anymore so it would be a mistake to buy it. We were wrong. I love you tube. It’s my “tv” and replaced food network for me since having kids and I have learned a lot of things but I do have to work on letting the perfection go. Thanks for this video, it hit home!
Yes, it is VERY weird and confusing and hars to be in the moment when influencers and stores have things for the next season when you juat started the season youre in!! I dont watch those videos until the season is here
My home is full of fall colors. It's a feel good to me. My kitchen curtains are fall pumpkins! Nothing cold and industrial in my home. Grandma's quilts, Aunt's afghans, warm, inviting colors. It's our home, not a house. I still have a 1980 color CONSOLE TV!
1. Get dressed
2. Make your bed
3. Develop a discipline
4. Focus on what you value
5. Embrace your weirdness (opinions are like bu**holes, everybody has one and they all stink 🤣)
6. Budgeting and Frugality
7. Find your niche in housekeeping (thank you for this, reminding me that I do not need to master someone else's area of expertise. My niche is organizing and tidying. I am not a master of sewing and mending or cooking and baking.)
-1. Stop rushing into the next season
-2. Stop being so busy (learn to know when to stop)
Actually thank you for the list. ❤
#2: My fitted sheet folding ability made my auntie proud & in turn, made me feel capable for the 1st time in a while. Minor, but huge for me.
Thank you for the summary! It's super helpful.
Thanks for the Cliff Notes version! I greatly appreciate it.
Wow thank you just what I was looking for!!!
I am sad/discontented because I am a working wife. I have always wanted to be at home and a full time homemaker. I fully support homemakers.
Me too 😢 I pray daily that someday I can be a homemaker and stay at home mom. I feel you
I became a SAHM when I was unexpectedly let go from a job. Our budget is really tight, but we are okay. I bet this could happen for you. ❤
Same here! I will pray for both of you and all moms who wish to stay home.
@goddessmel8518 I thought I was the only person who uses the term "morning ablutions". lol
Same, but I'm an only child so I definitely want a family.
Same, married without kids and now 50 so that won't change. But there are some great tips for anyone here - if you are your own 'homemaker' then you don't need to rely on someone else to take care of you.
Same. I'm enjoying her videos every morning while I'm getting dressed.
I love how you have found your authentic self and adopted somewhat of a kiss my … hinder - attitude in a healthy way! Keeping it real and true to yourself will always bring you true happiness!
I agree, I am older and still struggle with a bit of this myself. Lover her approach!
@@Future-zx9tsSame here..prefer it to look neat even if pulled back a bit❤
You can let it air out while you are getting coffee and getting dressed. Then make it. Then it gets aired and made.
We also air out our bed, by opening the window too ...
I feel validated hearing the idea that I have an expertise. I am great at sewing, mending, creating, crafting and making.
You inspired me! Instead of waiting for motivation to cut sugar back out of my eating habits, I'm making the CHOICE now. Choosing discipline over waiting for motivation. 10pm now, so making the choice to stick with my plan tomorrow and stop waffling around on it. Thanks!!!!
And told some friends for accountability 😊
I just cleaned my house from top to bottom yesterday. And was cleaning again today as I was watching this video. So the moment you siad (22:57) " the 2nd thing is not knowing when enough is enough and when to stop " I felt that 😅 ❤
B&B flannel sheets and waffle weave robes are just as luxurious as the percale sheets. We love ours!
I love summer until it’s truly cold outside. Then accept it’s fall. 🌞
You really inspire me. Thanks for the great video.
Homemaking is not a joy ride so all members of our families should pick up after themselves no matter if
You're a man or a woman.
She is so right about the season starting too fast! I saw all these Autumn videos while it was still 30+ degrees here and it just felt so weird!
That's funny. It doesn't get to the 30's until late Autumn here in America. 😀
She doe have a good point.
It is a practical way of looking at the ever meaningful... carpe diem...one day at a time.
I'm constantly referencing and thanking past me for looking out for future me!
Well said. Thank you. 🤍
Yes about the holiday thing!!! It creates such anxiety to constantly be forced into the next season so soon.
Aww the last time I've heard of boll and branch was from the late and great Rush Limbaugh RIP
I think my branch of housewivery is prepping. It's becoming a hobby of sorts. 🤔😃👍
When she said "yellow sofa" I had to cover my yellow sofa's ears
I have a blue sofa 😂
I really like the tip about what you do now being a gift to future you. I know if I wake up in the morning to a clean kitchen it will mean so much more to morning me than the episode of TV I watched ❤
Please tell me where is the mustardish colored sweater poncho that you are wearing in home of the video from??? So cute!
Love how real and relatable you are! And loving the videos!
Whoa! Did not expect the sheets and sets on the website you mentioned to be $500 and more. Whew. That’s not a “splurge,” that’s a savings depleting 🤦🏻♀️
Happy for you that you can afford it though! They look soft and comfy!
Try to remember that it's important to focus on the moment too. So even if I have something I need to accomplish for later me I need to realize the chores will always be there but my kids won't and they are my focus too.
Thank you so much for this Angela! I needed the permission to relinquish my to do list and enjoy life with my husband and children.
(He'll even bring me a cup in the am before I get up!❤)
I'm glad that I can embrace my weirdness!
I can’t tell you how much these videos mean to me and how helpful they’ve been 💛 I’m happy you’ve felt called in the direction to create in this way.
Amen!
I appreciate your chat about the discipline chat, and the ability building chat !❤
You recommended a mop steamer in one of your videos and I can't find which video was it. Thank you we love your content you are a gem!
You are living the good life 💗 you’ll never regret leaving work to be home raising your babies.
One of my neighbours puts their Christmas tree up at the beginning of September. Insane.
Want to be like you when I grow up! 👏🏼👏🏼 thank you!
Embrace the season we are in! ❤👏
Your videos are all so inspiring! And I love your sense of humor. Thank you so much.
I like your shirt 😊
Thanks for video 👍
When I got married, my husband made me a stay at home wife so I could finish my BA and we got pregnant about 2 months into marriage, but I remember going into homemaking with the attitude of "this is gonna be cake" I was very much so incorrect. Now that I am working and earning my MA, I miss being present for my family...
Thank you! Savoring the season we're in it's where it's at!
Love the hair and soft makeup it's perfect for your skin tone. Secondly, the discipline over motivation stuck with me!
If someone on social media make you feel less in anyway please don't follow them it's really not good for you
I was just enjoying the video, nodding and agreeing nicely with you and then - bam 💥! Came your last point. Thank you. I am glad you brought it short and crisp but honestly, I think that is what we as mothers and homemakers need to hear and I kind of wanted you to expand on it! Thank you!
Love your content. I'm new to your channel. You are a breath of fresh air. Thank you.
Do you have a Playlist on the basic homemaking things we should all know if we are embracing being a stay at home wife and mom???
I guarantee that part of the reason “fall decor” comes sooner is because in our minds, fall and school starting go hand in hand. They keep starting school earlier and earlier. I started after Labor Day. My oldest kids start at the end of August. My youngest just started in mid August and a school district near us started a week before she did. It’s ridiculous.
Agreed!
💯 agree and DO👍 Thanks for sharing 🤗❤️
Thank you for this video. You're blessed
I love love your Homemaking and Homeschool videos ! ❤ they really help me so much
Love this one. Great to hear you get a little fired up 😅 good job, thanks.
Such a great thought about discipline vs motivation! So profound.
You’re authentic positive vibes have warmed my heart 💛 I saw your other videos of frugal habits our grandparents followed and i love that you have embraced ways from the past that people just don’t follow anymore. Keep up the great work! 🙌🏻😊 From, a new fellow subscriber
You are a lovely person with great advice. Thank you for sharing this. ❤
instant follow, I appreciate your realness 💞
Congratulations! This is the BEST information I’ve heard in years on RUclips! Thank you!
You're right about getting up, shower, dressed, it makes you 💯 feel better and not gross or fit to be seen. 😅 i don't do it a lot, so i know. 😮
~ Heather ~
This is why I love you and your content. You always keep it real. Thank you!!
I would love for you to post a video on “free ways to enjoy your life” I know that may sound odd but I find it so hard to remember what fun is and how to have it these past few years.
Very insightful , new to your channel only being watching for about 3 weeks . Loving it so far . God bless xx
social media isn't the only place they're jumping ahead to the next seasons.
