Great vid! Suggestion: Since you're playing some item rain, I started thinking and I don't think you've ever actually ranked the items in mkwii at all. It would make a great video to rank them all and talk about their usage in competitive play! I feel like item strategy in general isn't super well discussed, and that's mostly due to all the people who think it's based on luck. It would probably take some time just like your vehicle tier list to really flesh out your thoughts, but I think it would be cool to see you do at least from a viewer's perspective.
A tier list wouldn't work because different items are better or worse in different situations. A single mushroom in first place is worth a lot more than a single mushroom in ninth, for example.

There are specific places you can get certain items in, which makes some better than others. For example, the shock has much more objective value in last place then a mega mushroom or star does. Same goes for a green shell versus a red shell in a mid spot. I think it'd be interesting to hear his perspective on which items are better for the placements they're in or smuggled to then others. That's all, or just a video about item strategy in general if that's too broad of a topic to cover in tier list format.

If you keep a constantly running track of the track youre playing in your head then instead of looking for items you can compare the track in your head to the track you are watching and compare the color, that way you onky need to see a single red or green pixel befote you know you need to change directions. Though this might only apply as a viewer as I get to spend the first lap of any track recording it and using that information to pull the memory out of long term memory and then start running the track second lap, fix any mistakes I have, then have a good track laid out for third lap it should be mentioned this is an "intuitive" skill and doesnt rely on having an accurate 3d render of the track in your head at any moment but more of a general vibe, you know where you are and where youre going because youve been there before, therefore you can compare what you see with what you kmow and check quicklu for obvious differences, like a ground item, which uaually has different colors than the track But something to say about the faults in this strategy is knowing which color schemes dont allow you to easily see which items. After a time of playing maps and simply noting in your head when youre on a part of a track that a certain item(s) would be difficult to see on then you'd also get an intuitive feel for that, add that to a search algorithm that seeks the entire shape (of the item(s) which would be difficult to see on any given part of the map), which I believe you already do, and you'd have an item avoidance system thats not only easier to use but also faster Im not sure about the easier to use part, but personally the more work I can just hand off to my brain to free me up to be experimental the better. Or to commentate, but that aint me dawg.

This custom game mode made me so rage from the past few months, and god it is it hard, cause all the items do can just literally interrupts the players, by getting hit by so much bombs, shells, fake item boxes, only around with the CPUS, especially people online together, you do, man about the game mode, we all already knew that items were falling from the sky randomly all over the place in certain areas, falls on top of your head, falls in front of you, accidentally running into them, starting the race, it hits you, every single time, so we Prefer to get power ups items even other items, like mega mushroom, star, bullet bill, lighting, POW Block, TC, blue shell, bombs, blooper, the ones on the ground and the ones in the item boxes, also they disappear so dang quick, sigh, that's just evil, it's pure evil, and torture, doing it just to screw you up, but I'll give it a try once again, anyway good luck.
Play tiny tracks at 20% speed, the same % as the track size so it races lile normal. Seems like a bit of novelty there, dunno if itd be any good though, might be good for bumping and trying to stay on the tiny track, a bit of random luck possible maybe
