Thanks for the fun and educational video. I have a Morgan Plus 8 where the heater fan sounded like a Lancaster in low pass. The voltmeter dropped from 13 volts to 11 volts every time I turned it on. A new fan from Morgan will probably cost me £3-400 plus shipping. Your video gave me the courage to disassemble the heater and fan motor. It turned out that one magnet was loose, I glued it with epoxy and now it works perfectly. I wouldn't have done this if I hadn't seen your video. Thank you very much! Erik Sandsmark, Norway

Love you! I opened mine and the two springs were sat there stuck to the magnet. I had no idea where they went until now. Thank you Alex!!!

Great work there Alex not that i'm considering taking the heater box out but one of my jobs when leaving school was repairing all sorts of electrical appliances that lead me to be a good hobby mechanic that enjoys taking things apart and fixing them , keep the videos coming .

Thanks for the detailed instructions on breaking down, and reassembly of the Smiths heater fan motor. Good job ..!
I'm getting ready to do the same to the fan motor out of my MGB ( pulling the heater assembly was a torturous nightmare ).

Those bearing retainers in the heater motor are called Star Lock washers. The large ones 35mm o.d. used in lucas wiper motors are impossible to find

Any idea if the unit in the TR7 has the same clippy thing to get the fan off? I cannot see it and don't want to break the plastic trying to force something - great video by the way
