Funniest video I've seen in a while Elbow! People talk about laughing out loud. But I really WAS laughing out loud at this. i got a Force and an MPC X. Can never decide which one I like more. (But neither one is portable!) Love your videos.
I 100% don't get "making beats in the park" .. for me it feels like just showing out rather than making beats and giving folks a chance to steal your stuff, but I said that online onetime and folks got MAD!.. some folks just like making beats in the park I guess. For me, I had the MPC X and got the Force and had to sell that MPC. I fell in love with the sequencer on the Force. For some reason I just click with it and it is more fun. I get the MPC love too, but for me it's all FORCE. Funny Video!
For me its a mental health thing and nothing to do with "showing out". I've made beats in the park but I go to the areas that are less occupied so I won't be bothered. Something about being outside vs stuck indoors can help to move your mood. I don't have a live 2, I use my ipad pro though. Nothing wrong with how you feel about it man. 2 each their own 🎹🎧
Today's people want to do everything everywhere. So cell phones and mobile music gear is more than YT hype. However, as an Ableton user I would chose the Force. "Force Live" would be the perfect mix.
Do BE careful out there with the portable gear ( the haters are everywhere) / but again all of us who live in the "real world" going to work etc... and all and still wanna do production and beat making the "portable gear" is a plus my 404 stays in backpack !!!
@@christianokami2220 I don't care about size. I want to make music and if the workflow isn't right i don't want it. Give me a machine with a fast workflow and that company gets my money.
I think Akai must upgrade the mixer and the arranger of the MPC. The mixer and the limited automation in song mode is allways the show stopper when you want to work total standalone on the MPC. It seems I need both, the Force and the MPC to be in musical heaven. Thank you for your two 5 reason videos.
Here's the thing for me. I want both. I mainly want the Live over the MPC One. I feel the standalone ability of live just out weighs cost and it has SSD expansion ability for massive storage upgrade. The Force would be that studio only device but I think it would be fun to use for a full performance and launching clips.
@@keitomineproductions4133 I've been hittin Akai up for this feature fix (doesn't make sense why it isn't there as the core operating system between the Force and the MPC are pretty damn parallel).
@@christianokami2220 there's a hack for them, so you can run mpc on force and vice versa. I own Live mk1 and it's the best finger drumming experience BY FAR. I own push1 and push2, so I'm pretty familiar with 64 pad layout, bass guitar chromatic layout and I would say I prefer mpc chromatic layout much more than 64. It somehow makes sense that octaves are in vertical alignment, versus diagonal (sorry bass/guitar players ). There is one unique feature of mpc structure that isn't immediately apparent. You can do multiple tracks addressing same program, whereas force ties clips, tracks and programs to same place (track). It means you can add minor variations through automation or notes, while keeping separate. That means by using 3 tracks (3 pads in track mute mode) you might get 7 different variations, where in force you are forced to create clip for each one. You might somehow workaround it by routing midi tracks and automating mutes , but no automation, so you'll have to keep automation and notes separate etc. It gets complicated very quickly, and such problem is inherent within clip-based structure. Though for live performance clip structure can't be beaten, as it allows for smooth transitions between disconnected scenes, whereas MPC sequence is a separate world. Maybe you could use both systems in tandem, where you'd keep instruments and midi inside mpc and audio inside force. But it's also possible with proper midi mapping (although very long and very thorough).
@@micindir4213 that's a bit much as a "work around" as I only own a Force, and don't ever plan on investing in a MPC again (had the MPC 1000 & 2000xl back in the day). Personally, as a preference, the Force has been the winner, as it literally accomplishes just about 90% of my needs for live performance (I run the Force live with my band, The Awkward Life, doing live remixes weekly in LA). Also, the Macros control options have changed the way I approach tons of tasks. I just recently built a Macros template that enables me to change pitch of my core track groups, as well as setup performance loops all on the fly (getting it closer and closer to the "DJ" functions that Akai tried to market it as).
I can't have all this loyalty already for the force. It's dope yes, but you never know if Akai will ever make another again. If Ableton or other software will keep ties with it later on. The MPC has generations. I could see the bias and loyalty the other way around, but some people want to praise the new thing and bash the old thing because they need to be seen as different or just tired of the same stuff. Not everyones case though.
@@jacobarmstrong5308 Yeah they can do that, but everyone will hate them for it. When you hear Akai the MPC is the first thing you think of out of all of all the hardware they have. I can't see them just dropping it for another flagship. That's me though I understand companies need to evolve to keep going. Idk not everyone is into the smaller push like pads for the force and some people fingers are huge lol. Maybe fu**ing up the next model up badly or moving the spotlight away for a while like every company does when they have something new. Imagine that though 🤔

This is funniest but best review I ever seen 😂😂😂 love it

The only thing i care about is "workflow". Portability doesn't mean that a sampler has a great workflow. Workflow is all that matters to me.
As long as my Force isn't the same size as my Kronos, I believe the Force is portable enough.

Software was the best argument. I don’t have an mpc but I use mpc beats.
Dope content🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Next live stream from the tub!
Lol!!!
enjoyed this a lot!
Dont mind that dude Marcus Elbow, I rock with you Dj Me. the moustarch is crazy
Me and my 9 year old son laughed watching that portability part like 5 times lol

One thing the MPC has over the Force is Drum Explode.
