    Can we change colour of pattern in photoshop???

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  5 лет назад +1

      Great question, it seems like I don't have a video which covers this so I've added it to my list. No promises on timing but I think it's a great topic. cheers! Helen

    unfortunately when you upload it to shutterstock you have to save it in EPS and for illustrator 10 so when i do that and open the file again the Swatch is no longer there. maybe i am doing something wrong. it's easy enough to do in Photoshop by cropping it but i cant seem to work that out on illustrator. I'm fairly experienced with Photoshop but pretty new to illustrator haha. ill get on some of their forums and see if i can figure it out :)

      Cool. Now I checked the contributor forums and I think that is a place you will get the help you need. Here is a link into the forums that is relevant: forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/88126-confused-about-uploading-seamless-pattern/ if this doesn't answer your question, you can sign in and ask your question of people who are really familiar with what is needed. Best of luck!

    Hi Helen, Thanks for your wonderful tutorials, Maybe you can help me out. I understand how the seamless pattern works as a swatch but I'm not sure how it works for something like shutterstock where you need to upload a specific size of file and one side needs to match the other exactly, I've got round it on redbubble by moving it over to photoshop and cropping my image so the tiles match perfectly but not sure how you would do that on illustrator or if it can be done. I created a skull design in illustrator then cropped it in photoshop for redbubble but can't upload it to shutterstock because it wouldn't be seamless i dont think. thanks

      Hi there, I guess it depends on how Shutterstock needs you to provide a file to them. Have you asked how they want them or have you downloaded another user's Shutterstock pattern image to check and see what the files look like? Typically when you make patterns you would show a user how the pattern looks when in use and you would provide them with the pattern swatch so they can use it for their design. I don't believe any site would require you to make a pattern a certain size as they will all vary depending on the actual design.

      Thank you for the compliment! I just love British accents and I do try to have a nice accent. I am actually Australian - but to be fair, many Australians will ask where I am from so it's an easy mistake to make. That said, no Brits think I am British!
