I just picked up this w.i.t.c.h. oracle deck. It's so much better than my origional perception - more adaptable. And it's gorgeous! What i did was pair it with the Earth & Bone Oracle (Sirian Shadow) - that pairing really opened up both decks for me. I made four piles for the pairing - with two piles from each deck, and alternated them - it actually works out perfectly with the number of cards in each deck. They completely sang together. 😀 Thanks so much for this walkthrough, it was incredibly helpful 🥰
funny you paired it to the abyss, I too felt that it paired well with that tarot deck, along with tarot of the sorceress. seems they are really talking.... thank you Robyn
I have the Tarot of the Abyss but like you said it's different when you get a deck in your hands vs watching it online and I loved the walkthroughs but I did not vibe with it at all when I got it. I love it with this pairing though. I've been coveting the W.I.T.C.H. deck for years so maybe I'll have to try those together. Thanks for the idea!
I have a back and forth dance with Tarot of the Abyss. Sometimes I don’t want anything to do with it. And sometimes it’s the only deck I want to use. 😆 It really is a good deck though IMO. Not only beautiful but really thoughtful interpretations of the cards. I just try to enjoy the ebb and flow. Glad you liked the pairing! Thanks so much for watching 💜.
Robyn, I'm curious about the predator card, this card alone could break this deck for me. When you have a moment, would you be willing to give me the gist of what the writeup is for this card? Very much appreciated.
Yeah I sure can. I can’t remember the exact wording so I will let you know as soon as a I can read it again. I remember it was something about overcoming external predator voices put into our heads as children. There were words like “there is a predator in the house“ which yikes😳but in the end I ended up keeping the card in the deck. It’s strong but a good reminder to make sure my thoughts/ beliefs are my own. I’ll post it here once I get the book in my hands because I can’t really remember exactly.
Okay I took a look and this archetype falls in a section/suit called The Hive which contains messages meant to help harvest and heal heal old wounds. Kinda poking the bear so that you can relocate it rather than just tiptoeing around it. From the guidebook: He might have first showed up outside of you in your original home, church or school, and most certainly in our culture as a whole. But he is now alive as the inner patriarchy. It's the force that wants to control you in order to keep you small and unthreatening. It's moved into the psyche, as it does generation after generation, if left unquestioned. A W.IT.C.H. is willing to take to the inner streets to clean up the injustice of bullying thoughts, blaming self-talk, and name-calling…when her dreams or hungers or passions are shamed and belittled from within. It is time to take a stand against the unholy inquisition of the psyche, and develop the tools to defeat the toxic patriarchy living there. You deserve nothing less.
