I agree that Wang Chuqin is definitely a future WTTC Singles Champion. However, this is a bit early to predict Wang can take over Fan in the near future. In fact, Wang and the rest of the top TT players will get their chance next year. But I believe Fan Zhendong is still the favorite to win the WTTC Men's Singles event.
Also, the Dragon, Ma Long, seems to be playing half-hearted TT against his teammates. I won't be surprised that the Chinese coaches are holding him back. If we objectively examine TT since 2015, Ma Long was the pivotal force that kept Chinese TT winning all these years. I believe Chinese coaches trust Ma Long to consistently win the most important and prestigious tournaments. This is why Ma Long is still competing.

Exactly, Fan made TOO many errors for it to be believable... When he's on fire, he rarely misses. In this case, it was painful to watch. He folded.

WCQ's attacks on FZD's long pushes are out of this world. This is a tactic FZD used quite a bit in this match, as he does often - long, spinny and low pushes in the elbow, usually answered by a weak / slow first attack that FZD can dismiss with a counter top spin. But well... not today! WCQ managed to be always in position, hitting the ball hard and low, killing the point right away or at least taking the advantage in the rally. What an incredible performance by WCQ!!! Apart from the 4th set where he made quite a few errors, he did not miss much.

In the sets Wang won, Wang won them with a great margin. In the sets Fan won, Fan won it narrowly, and often from behind. Wang showed an apparent upperhand over Fan in this match, despite the close scores.
