We're about to witness four back-to-back supermoons, each with its unique charm. From a super blue moon to a rare supermoon eclipse, there's going to be a stunning show for everyone to enjoy. Not only that, but there will also be a spectacular conjunction of two bright planets and a chance to see a naked-eye comet that could outshine even the brightest stars in the night sky. My son lives in Germany and he lives on the top of a mountain! We sit on his back porch and watch sunsets raises and moon every night! Funny how the moon looks 10 times bigger it is higher elevation! It’s beautiful, and you will truly enjoy that sight
Eh in my opinion its much better you go there when its a new moon, unless you already have or have lots of opportunities to go in the near future (if so I envy you 😅). A blue moon can be seen from anywhere given no cloud cover. Ig the Moon with lots of stars might look nice but imo you miss out on way more like the Milky Way band, Andromeda Galaxy, and numerous other deep space objects

I've yet to observe or find any examples depicting the "glory of a politician."

HeeHee ... Those OVERPRICED so-called *_Mova Globes_* ain't nothing more than 2 spheres - 1 smaller than the other with distilled water between both balls and a weight inside.
20+ years ago My Children had 6 of those in a design of an EYEBALL. Bought them from a Street Vendor in The Bronx for $2 each. My Sons & Daughter rolled them across the floor trying to scare other kids visiting who saw them for the first time.
My Eldest-Son cut one of them open to see what was inside - NOTHING SPECTACULAR.
Mova will be lowering the price eventually soon.

I've tried a few web searches but am unable to find the origin and first use of the term "super moon". It sounds like a dumbed down concept made for TV news. I don't recall seeing it even just a few decades ago. Anyone know who started it? [Edit] BTW, I have a Mova globe; they work as advertised and are a classy desk ornament. If you can afford it (I can't) get the larger size especially if you want a globe of the moon or Earth.

These aint nothing compared to early 2000s when i seen the moon one night and it was so close and big that it filled the sky and you could clearly see the craters and all from your back yard and own eyes....it was so close it was kinda scary lol

C/2023 A3... Whatever is magnitude 4.05 at it's brightest according to stellarium (oct 7), meaning forget your chances if you're too broke to get binoculars and in a city like me

This might be a super moon but it is no way a blue moon. Blue moons are the second full moon in a month. We have not had a full moon this month yet.

Please stop the misinformation. The August full moon might be a "SUPER MOON" but it's not a "blue moon". A BLUE MOON is the second full moon in a month. This is the only full moon in August.
Think something happening 'once in a blue moon' is rare? Blue moons are actually fairly common, at least in astronomical terms.
First things first: a blue moon has nothing to do with the colour of the Moon. Instead, it is all to do with the timing of full moons during the year. Find out more about them below.
What is a blue moon?
Cultures around the world, including the Native Americans, have given names to each of the full Moons, with each typically happening in its own month.
For example the 'Wolf Moon' is usually the full Moon occurring within January. With the cycle of the phases of the Moon lasting approximately one month, and there being 12 months in a year, we typically have 12 full moons each year.
However, the phases of the Moon actually take 29.5 days to complete, meaning 354 days total for 12 full cycles. This falls some way short of the 365/366 days in a calendar year: therefore, roughly every two and a half years a 13th full moon is seen. This additional full moon does not fit with the normal naming scheme and so is instead referred to as a ‘blue moon’.
How often does a blue moon happen?
Normally blue moons occur about every two or three years. In 2018, unusually, we had two blue moons in one year and only two months apart - and one was a lunar eclipse! The next time we will get two blue moons in a year will be 2037.
