CM Revanth Reddy's Statement on Telangana Comprehensive Caste Census - 2024 in Assembly | BC Census

తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం సమగ్ర కుల గణనను నిర్వహించి దేశానికి మార్గదర్శకంగా నిలిచిందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు శాసనసభలో ప్రకటించారు. ఖచ్చితమైన వివరాలను సేకరించేందుకు "తెలంగాణ సామాజిక, ఆర్థిక, విద్య, ఉపాధి, రాజకీయ మరియు కుల గణన (సమగ్ర గృహ సర్వే)"ను అత్యంత జాగ్రత్తగా నిర్వహించామని తెలిపారు. సమగ్ర కుల సర్వే-2024పై అసెంబ్లీలో సీఎం గారు ప్రకటన చేసిన అనతరం చర్చ చేపట్టారు.
56% బీసీలు, 17.5% ఎస్సీలు, 10.45% ఎస్టీలు కలిపి మొత్తం 83.95% జనాభా ఉండగా, వారి సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం కట్టుబడి ఉందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు హైలైట్ చేశారు. అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన వెంటనే, కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం శాసనసభలో తీర్మానాన్ని ఆమోదించి, 36 రోజుల వ్యవధిలో ₹160 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో 76,000 మంది డేటా ఎంట్రీ ఆపరేటర్లను నియమించి ఈ సర్వేను విజయవంతంగా పూర్తి చేసింది.

సర్వే లెక్కల ప్రకారం, తెలంగాణలో ఎస్సీలు 17.43% (61,84,319 మంది), బీసీలు (ముస్లిం మైనార్టీ మినహా) 46.25% (1,64,09,179 మంది), ఎస్టీలు 10.45% (37,05,929 మంది), ముస్లిం మైనార్టీలు 12.55% (44,57,012 మంది) ఉన్నట్లు ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి శాసనసభలో వెల్లడించారు.
ఓసీల మొత్తం 15.79% (56,01,539 మంది) కాగా, వీటిలో ముస్లిం మైనార్టీ మినహా ఓసీలు 13.31% (47,21,115 మంది) మరియు ముస్లిం మైనారిటీ ఓసీలు 2.48% (8,80,242 మంది) ఉన్నట్లు గౌరవ ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి వివరించారు.
Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy stated in the Legislative Assembly that Telangana has shown the way to the country by conducting a comprehensive caste census. He emphasized that the Telangana Social, Economic, Educational, Employment, Political, and Caste Census (Comprehensive Household Survey) was carried out meticulously to collect accurate demographic data.
He highlighted that with 56% BCs, 17.5% SCs and 10.45% STs, totaling 83.95% of the population, the government is committed to addressing their concerns. After coming to power, the Congress government passed a resolution in the Assembly and completed the survey, engaging 76,000 data entry operators over 36 days at a cost of ₹160 crores.
The Chief Minister pointed out that, since 1931, there has been no official data on weaker sections, making the implementation of reservations difficult. He emphasized that the roadmap presented in the Assembly will serve as a key reference for future policymaking. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to social justice, he congratulated everyone who contributed to making this survey a model for the country.
According to the survey figures, in Telangana, SCs make up 17.43% (61,84,319 people), BCs (excluding Muslim minorities) account for 46.25% (1,64,09,179 people), STs are 10.45% (37,05,929 people), and Muslim minorities represent 12.55% (44,57,012 people), as informed by Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy in the Legislative Assembly.
The total number of OCs is 15.79% (56,01,539 people), of which 13.31% (47,21,115 people) are OCs excluding Muslim minorities, and 2.48% (8,80,242 people) are Muslim minority OCs, explained the Chief Minister.
