Lmao I remember I was watching this one streamer, I think she had 2 full genocide episodes multiple hours long, first one was 7:56:22 long, second was 2:32:15 long. The sans fight started at about 3:52:45 first episode.
You dont even have to do the math to realize that she had a bad time 💀

Pointcrow had some absolutely heartbreaking deaths but he never really got salty like so many others with this fight. What an optimistic lad
I love how much one can improve at the Sans fight. Like, I once remember long ago when certain attacks seemed _impossible_ to dodge, and now I can beat him without eating a single piece of food. With even more time spent fighting him, I bet I could eventually no-hit it.
ON GOD I used to come home from school and try Sans for hours and hours and hours!! I kept count but I lost count past 200 attempts. It was like 21something attempts before I finally beat him but it's been like six years and I still have the movements of the fight muscle memorized and can beat Bad Time Sim on a whim 😭😭
I beat him on my 4th attempt never dying to phase 1

@@Anervaria I played Undertale 7 years ago, and went back this year. It took me 40 tries to beat Sans, but by the 10th try, I was already losing to the special attack.

im so sad there was no sound when u finally got to the finally attack for thw first time 😭 this is amazing btw!!! you were brilliant and it still took 6 hrs! a great testimate to how difficult this fight is, while also being fair in that it takes skill.

I'm always caught off guard by how difficult this is for new people. I don't think there's a single game that I could look at and remember people instantly dying in, besides like dark souls or some shit. I'm glad I can no-hit most of this now, the satisfaction is amazing after all the beatings I took from this bony bastard lol
Yeah the only other fight that destroys new players THIS fast that I know, is NKG (Nightmare King Grimm) from Hollow Knight.
With many of the hardest Souls bosses, people at least survive for a little bit.

@@Buglin_Burger7878 oh no, we're definitely a bastard from a morale standpoint. But in the end, everyone's wanted to do it at least once, so if everyone's a bastard, no one is.

I tried the bad time simulator since I will confess to being one of the people unwilling to play through genocide, and I gotta give props to Eric for being able to go for five hours straight. I gave up after five minutes.

Every single person who did the Genocide route immediately knew what was up when they had to fight the single laziest character in the game.
Small Fun fact about Geno Route
You can actually spare monster, the thing that trigger the next part of genocide route is the number of monster, so if you need 14 kills on Snowdin, you can spare Jerry or a "hard" to kill monster and still doing genocide if you end up killing 14 monsters, thats what we do on early geno speedruns
Jerry is so annoying that it is a waste of time to kill him. He is the only monster that I won't kill during genocide.
Snowdin needs 16 really (but one must be reserved for Snowdrake, and possibly Lesser Dog if you don’t Glyde farm)

I'm watching this while playing Sans's battle too. Even with a controller, it's so hard because you need a lot of control over your movements. However, it's nice to play while listening to this in the background because it feels like having someone also doing it in the same room. Idk why, it makes it easier to play when it feels like you're not alone in the struggle

based on flowy's comments at the end of the other routs, and that most people are not going to save or kill every monster as you have to really go out of your way to commit genocide, that the story natural progression is neutral, pacific, genocide. Considering genocide croups your game also strongly argues that genocide is the final rout to take not the first.

I love when people meet the consequences of their actions, and for Undertale players, it's Sans :)
Watching these vods makes me want to watch and interact live, but I feel my comments would get drowned out too quickly so I'll stick with the vods. Loved your Undertale runs btw. It's a true shame you can't get monetized for them as they have been bringing back so many memories of my own playthroughs from way back when.

Watching the video after the fact and watching pointcrow say 45 minutes into his 6 hour stream that it shouldn’t take too long since he’s an amazing gamer KILLED me lmfao
Hey eric, ill give you a couple tips.
1. Try using keyboard instead of controller, it helps a lot and there is a lot of unnecessary movement.
2. For the 2nd move try tapping the dpad/keys quickly instead of holding it down
3. Take each try memorizing the attacks and where to move
4. A lot of FUCKING LUCK
I wouldn't really consider luck a needed thing. Your first three points are valid though.

yeah that luck part was kind of a joke lol. While i do agree with fallen, the luck factor doesnt matter much compared to the other 3
Luck isn't really a thing here. As long as you aren't learning deficient, you'll pick up on the patterns pretty fast especially since the attacks are very choreographed with the only real random ones being the blaster and wall slam attacks.
I’m 2 and a half hours in and he still eats food at the worst possible time, something that took me 2 attempts to realize: if you are being “poisoned” by the KR, wait in the menu until you are knocked down to 1 health, as this poison will never kill you, and THEN eat a max heal item like the Pie or Instant Noodles. I’m barely into the video and there’s been countless times where he’ll eat the Pie while still being poisoned and goes down to 70 HP unnecessarily when he could’ve just waited 5 seconds to stop being poisoned and gotten up to 92 (full) HP.

Hey Eric, i dont know if anyones suggested this and you probably wont see this comment but may i suggest reacting to Undertale The Musical by Man on The Internet?
Its a huge fan collaboration taking 42 tracks from the True Pacifist soundtrack and telling the story of Undertale in kinda like a musical type fashion. Its 4 hours long but definitely one of the biggest fan projects looking into
They also did a seperate genocide collection with 11 songs that is just over an hour

the only reason I did the No Mercy Route was because I wanted to fight sans and hear megalovania because of the memes

eh, probably not? it depends, when I did it I was already spoiled of most parts of the plot so, it wasn't anything THAT new for me, which is sad
Although, in Deltarune it's a whole different story I managed to avoid most chapter 1 spoilers
and played chapter 2 as soon as it released
it was the most hyped and epic gaming experience I've had in a long while
but oh no, I'm not doing the weird route
if I learned anything from Undertale is to not kill and not kill I will
and I'm not giving up on that
The only thing I'm hoping on is, when Toby adds MEGALOVANIA to Deltarune, is to make it in a Mercy Route too

My take on the education thing. Even if you become a media star and make money on it while in higher education, you shouldn't drop out. RUclips and Twitch can make a decision to destroy careers at any time. You should have a plan just in case you lose that media job.

i’m surprised he spent 5 hours straight fighting sans. the first time i did it, i gave up after a few days of fighting on and off. i did another pacifist and left the game alone for a few months/weeks (i forgor)
of course, i came back and finished the fight. then i did pacifist again, did some secrets, and decided i want to no hit sans
still working on it but i’m doing pretty well. i’ve beaten sans with only 1 heal and done no-hit phase 1, so i’m getting close.

I remember needing to switch from Keyboard to controller for Undyne the Undying, and beating Sans of the 54th attempt with controller.
Maybe I just needed to get good with Keyboard, but it felt easier for me with the controller.
