Welcome to the Bookish Kingdom! ✨ I’m so glad you stopped by. 😄 This channel is my hobby - I love to create and share the fun of my vacations, as well as my favorite books, fashions, crafts, and other adventures. The places and products I mention in my videos are all things I genuinely love and want to share my honest thoughts about. 😊 I think of my videos like a scrapbook - when I’m on a vacation I film as much as possible and then a few weeks or months later, I’ll try to get around to editing and sharing them here.

I love that Emily wrote for herself and that was enough. Inspiring.
Beautiful. I’ve always longed to visit Emily’s home. Rock on, gorgeous women!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I agree. She is definitely not only dark - she moves freely between all her feelings. Some of her poems offer so much hope and beauty.
This was so nice to watch-what a dream to read her poetry in Emily’s backyard!
I didn’t know I shared MY birthday with Dickenson!!!!! Ooooh I feel extra special now! Haha!
i can’t believe you actually got INTO her house lucky
...you two are better than the official tour- so full of life and joy: ED would have loved you...
Whoa, did you realize you posted this on Emily's birthday? Super cool.
hey girl, thanks for inviting me to your house
I so enjoy seeing the homes of favorite poets and authors. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you for this great opportunity to watch Emily Dickinson’s house and places , it’s so warm to see a lot of things that related to your favourite poet ❤️
Thank you BookishPrincess for giving me the opportunity to virtually visit the greatest poetess birthplace. I wish I could visit this one day. and even your commentary with smiling face make me feel comfortable.
I just returned from a 3 day stay at the Amherst Inn right across the street from Emily’s house. Our room overlooked her house but because of covid we couldn’t go in. Your video is just what I needed to hold me over until I can visit again when the museums are open.
So glad you enjoyed Amherst! My boyfriend’s brother actually got to participate in a summer-long archaeological dig in her yard while he was studying Archaeology at UMass Amherst. They found part of an old smoking pipe, buttons and parts of dishes! They host this dig every summer and are trying to recreate Emily’s original garden, as well! He also got to explore the attics of both houses and got to see so many amazing antiques! The last time I toured, they showed us a book of pressed flowers with identifications that Emily made - apparently this was incredibly common during the time and it would actually be competitive to see who could find identify and collect the most plants! I currently live in Amherst and I love passing by Emily’s house on a daily basis. I find her brother’s house fascinating - especially the story about the last resident who lived there alone for so many years! If you’re ever in the Amherst area again, you’ve got to check out the Black Sheep - they have the most delicious pastries, (It’s a two minute walk from Emily’s house)! ✨
loved your comprehensive comment. I wish I could visit the place.
Enjoyed this so much. Love the enthusiasm for life and discovery. Nice to have a friend to have adventures with in this world. Also it means a lot to me personally to hear and see how brave and kind you are--we need more of that. Emily would have enjoyed your company I bet. Thanks for posting.
✨Love your video✨
“From the wounded soul, comes poetry and music. In return, music and poetry heals the soul.🎶
I came across this quote in a hauntingly beautiful poetry book, “12:12 Midnight”
by Danielle Ever Rose
It was a great read.
My dear, dear Emma. Your vlogs are so refreshing. Your vlogs encompasses anything Disney and literature. One of my favorite Dickinson lines is, "The soul should always stay ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience" Continue reading and writing. (great readers usually write, so I'm assuming you are a wonderful writer as well) Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. :)
I love this video.
Emily Dickinson was the painter of the soul. I like her so much!
Wonderful video, thank you, since I have the feeling I will never cross the Atlantic and visit Her House and Buy Her books from there, or enjoy the light and her garden and the air of Amherst on an endless summer day...
Thank you BookishPrincess. Thank you for sharing the great poet.
Thank you! I subscribed and told others!
I love Emily..ty for posting this...😊😊😊
Thanks for the tour! Have you watched the new Dickinson series, Brilliant!
Wow, thank you so much for this video--your time & efforts!
my favourite poem by Emily is OF ALL THE SOUNDS DISPATCHED ABROAD
I love it! I can’t believe I missed Emily’s house when I visited Amherst 10 years ago. It’s gorgeous! I love touring author houses.
I like the Hemingway house in Key West. Plus the cool cats.
YAY! The MOMENT this popped up on my RUclips page I hit play! Been waiting for this since you mentioned it! Love this! What a wonderful video! Now, I want to go...
I'm so proud of her 😢😢
I live right near Emily Dickinson's house
Tons of thanks for bringing this from Frederick, India.
Thank you for a wonderful excursion to one of my favorite poets homes! Made my day.
This was such a wonderful video. I'm not familiar with Emily's poems, so you incorporating some of her poems just made this vide fantastic. I hope more or your bookish travel videos are like this.
I love the video. Emily Dickinson is such an inspiration and idol to me. I would love to go there.
I was there this past Saturday for her early birthday open house celebration! I love her..shes such a gift to us all ❤ nice video ladies ☺
I visited the E.D. House some years ago on the day of a major lateral Civil War exposition and event there. I look forward to visiting the post-renovation House.
For a new perspective on Emily, I highly recommend the book Open Me Carefully by Emily Dickinson scholar, professor and editor/writer Martha Neil Smith.
Oh! A great occasion for you! Thanks for sharing. I haven’t memorized any but i studied her in college and did a paper on the poem “A Slant of Light”. What a terrific very large house! Beautiful city, beautiful genius. Multi talented poet. Emily was a courageous spirit. Not afraid to speak her mind or write the way she wanted and about what she wanted. There was joy in her life and she went through some very serious health problems and still expressed her feelings and events through writing.
You're very passionate. Thanks for this video. I just beginning to research Emily Dickinson after all these years.
Since due to Covid-19, the museum is closed. Your charming video hence was a joy to watch. Thanks 😊🙏
Thank you for this video. You are so beautiful and the way you radiate ☀️ sunshine is touching.
I just recently picked up a beautiful collection of hers. I really enjoy reading them out loud to my family. Thanks for the beautiful scenery.
Omgggg ur sooo cute!! Such an amazing video. U have a kindred spirit about u 🌻🌹
I adore these kinds of videos!
I live and work so close to here, but I've never gone. I will rectify this soon! Lovely video as always
Been looking forward to this! What a beautiful home and life ❤ I'll definitely have to read more Dickinson. Back in school I always got Emily Dickinson and Emily Bronte mixed up because they both had so many gloomy, death poems lol. Of course back in their eras death was commonplace for younger people so I can understand why they seemed a bit obsessed by it. As always, a lovely vlog with unique content ❤❤
wonderful. Thanks for all the work but it looks like it was fun.
You are awesome!!! Ok and cute❤you must be super funful’mm funful ok. I enjoy your take on Miss Dickinson
Ice cream cake with frozen roses… So cool !
thank you
Whoops - posted this on the wrong video first! But it’s so nice to see you in my neck of the woods! Glad you enjoyed it 🤗
I cant believe it’s still standing
Great video. Love your enthusiasm.
Thank you for this, so cool the little fragments that have been saved.
Emily Dickinson looks so somber in her portrait, but she comes across as anything but somber in some of her poetry.
such a lovely place and video thank you!
Loved this video! I’ve never been even though it’s only about 45 minutes away from me. But you’ve inspired me to check it out! If you are ever in the Hartford, CT area you should check out the Mark Twain house and Harriet Beecher Stowe house!!
Such a great vlog! Did you ever see Belle of Amherst with Julie Harris? It's wonderful.
I love this type of video. Thanks for sharing!
I love this video💌, I wish I could go there sometime soon. :) and Austin’s house is little bit far from Emily’s home than I thought..! 😭
Great video and a great time to visit Amherst. Looking forward to watching the other author home videos. Thanks.
Awesome video, thank you!
A few of her poems were published during her lifetime. Over 20 years ago I attended a meeting between a few authors etc. re: cleaning out the Evergreen's house to file papers, furniture, person items etc..for a future museum. I could not attend and now I kick myself for not being able to help.
Great video! What a fun day you guys had! And I love to knit too ! Lol Becky should show some of her work
I wanna visit that place!
I want to go there😭
I’m nobody - who are you?
Are you nobody to?❤
The property across the Dickinson Homestead belonged to the Dickinson's originally.
My old house was next to the women’s club next to Emily’s house
Very nice - and inspiring. Think should have included Emily's grave 😢 Could it be - RECALLED?
Now i want to go there more than ever. But the problem is I live in the other side of the world...
Thank you for this video. I love Dickinson. Cousin Becky seems very nice. 🙂
very respectful --
this is beautiful! ^^
Surgery was quite rudimentary in Emily's day, and there were no antibiotics, so I can't begin to imagine how risky eye surgery would have been then.
The leaves falling into the book seem to be guided by an invisible hand.
Love it❤️
Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t she have a quote that says “if your nerve goes above you. Go above your nerve” or something like that
what background music did u use
There is a fact that intrigues me,
Is the white dress that hangs in Emily's room, is it the same dress that she wore,
I mean, it's not a replica?
Does anyone know that Emily's family lived on Pleasant St... before moving to this house. The house overlooked the cemetery where she later was buried. The house lot became a gas station after the house was torn down... Sad...
Donde es?
Go UMass!
💖💖💖
Is it known whether Dickinson read Austen?
It's called "Portfolio Poetry" where your goal is a have the name sake and not seek fame nor fortune.
Is there any inclusion of her dear friend, Susan Gilbert Dickinson, in the museum?
Bet Emily cranked that ac in the hot months.
I don't know if this is appropriate or not, but I wrote a poem about my thoughts and the way I've been feeling lately, and I wonder if this is a good place to post it. Anyway, thank you, Emily Dickinson.
title: "just another day"
with everything going on,
my life is back to normal
it's just another day
i can't tell
if this is a testament
to human resilience
or the desire
for blissful ignorance
it's easier to look away
but it's wrong
yet i have no strength to fight
i am so tired
i fight the demons in my mind
my pain and trauma
every day
i don't have enough strength
for anything else at the moment
they say
the way to fight
is to speak
say your words
lift up your voice
sometimes,
i feel i must scream
but when i open my mouth,
i have no voice
no noise escapes
no sound is heard
if i speak,
would i be heard?
in this world
where everyone is speaking
and no one is listening
just a constant flow
a cacophony
of words
of voices
of consciousness
all trying to talk over each other
gets so jumbled in my head
i can't hear
can't think
can't breathe
it's too much
EVERYBODY JUST STOP
i shut it off
shut them out
and breathe
i take a moment
though it often overwhelms me,
part of my brain
misses the noise
the quiet is so subtle,
yet so unsettling
eventually my mind calms
and i feel
a tiny corner of peace
after a time
when i have taken my rest
i return to the world
and its glorious clamor
the magnificent chaos
the wild splendor
of humanity
and i notice a pattern
each talks over the other
each vying
for the praise
the attention
the platform
to be seen
heard
known
understood
the desperate attempt
for validation
to make your mark
and not be forgotten
it's something
i recognize in myself
though i cannot do much,
for a moment
i look
i listen
i learn
i understand
i praise
i attend
i validate
because it is necessary
it is what they need
and i am happy
to be there for them
then i come back to myself
and ask
would they be there for me too?
if i speak,
will anybody hear me?
will anybody hear me?
