A brief overview documentary of the modern day training that takes place at Marine Corps Artillery Detachment, Ft. Sill, OK. This video production educates internal and external audiences on how Marine Corps Artillery Detachment, supports the Marine Corps mission. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt Brandon L. Ponyah)
0811 and I later made a lat move as 0869. I was later appointed as a Warrant Officer and I had served in the battalion, regimental and division as a Artillery Targets Acquisition Officer.
I was a 13B from 2012-2020 and was the last combat artillery unit to deploy out of Sill. Since I was in the army, the PT test required for my mos was different. It was constantly discussed that artillery tests should be more on strength building like the marines. Good shit guys.
The pt test really should include loading and unloading rounds in a certain time 🤷🏽
I went through the 0811 course in 1987,
This video brings back such great memories.
I served Three years, getting out a Corporal

He was my instructor beast.
how do you join artillery? Is it after marine corps? Or do you join artillery during marine corps
Talk to a Recuiter
You get a contract for the artillery field, go to boot camp, go to marine combat training, go to Fort Sill, then you go to the fleet and do Marine shit
Wait. So is this after boot camp and how do apply for all this?? I have a couple years to go but I'm planning on trying for 0811
Novacane After Marine Corp bootcamp you will attend MCT and depending on when you join you could possibly attend ITB. So after bootcamp and after you graduated MCT or ITB, that is when you will attend the schoolhouse.
Emilio Avila I’ve heard they’ll be adding field artillery marines into ITB
M777 FOREVOR!!!!!!!!!!!
So this is before MOS school
That is MOS school.
This is how you hunt big game.
T*ts and Antlers, takes on a whole new meaning of T and A.
Fire mission, battery of six guns, 12 point buck in the open...
Do artillery attachments have corpsman?
Every unit has corpsman attached to them even something as useless as Supply
@@DominicanMarine129 Good luck without supply. Or, prefer an airman take care of supply for you rather than a Marine?
@@kevinzhang3313 Our supply guy during our second deployment was useless. Basically did almost nothing lol
I’ve been in fort sill for over 3 months this place fucking sucks lmao
Been there, done that.
Branden Smith what are the chances of going out on patrols as a 0811?
Junior Martinez 2nd this
I'm planning on signing for 0811. Can any one give me some advice in how it could benefit me after the military if it could? A reply would be much appreciated
Security guard or maybe law enforcement you could fall back on. But I'd shoot higher take advantage of the college they offer. and Get a meaningful degree to back up your military expierience. Cybersecurity field especially.
Shooterjobs, usajobs.gov, if you aquire a bachelor's degree you're eligible for cia combat jobs. There are lots of opportunities keep an open mind and remember your general orders.
Update guys I leave June 15 2020 for SD
I actually got an 0111 mos
I eat crayons for breakfast
SSgt Clarke with this trash sleeves…
