No they shouldnt live together…in order for a muslim man to have more than 1 wife, theres conditions to be fulfilled…he must treat them equally in finance, provision, with his time, etc thats why many don’t marry more than 1 as its very expensive! N a difficult task to give all wives equal rights! However not all men follow these rules & break them so they will be answerable to God.
The reason for polygamy was that in past due to wars , poverty , divorce etc women were left to fend for themselves( n many times with kids) …so it was recommended to help the society n provide for widows in protection, home , finance etc so a man who could afford to n could fit the required criteria use to marry n support these women….unfortunately in some societies its taken out of context n the west use it as a belittlement of islam…put it this way…theres no extra-martial affairs , illegal kids born out of wed lock etc…every1 knows about every1 in the family…. Especially the wives!
No .not every Muslim marry 4 times.Islam put a condition to act equally. But it's impossible. So in very rare cases a Muslim marry 4 times
