Are They Still DOMINATING JUCO Football... (How is Last Chance U's EMCC Doing Almost a DECADE Later)

  • Back in July of 2016, Netflix decided to drop one of my favorite sports documentaries they have ever created: Last Chance U which followed East Mississippi Community College. The series would become one of the most popular shows at the time and would release four more football seasons following EMCC, Independence Community College, and Laney Community College in Oakland, and still is coming out today covering JUCO College basketball. Last Chance U brought to light the struggles that come with JUCO football whether that be financial issues, keeping yourself out of trouble, or staying academically eligible. Since it has been almost a decade since someone checked on the EMCC program, I thought why not do it myself?

I wish they included more shots of the team with the band. I was there and we were always hyping each other up, dancing. The team were our biggest fans and vice versa. I miss these guys and often wonder where they are now

Wyatt Roberts didn’t compete for the starting qb job at state. He was asked to walk on after two qbs transferred out and they had barely any bodies. Nick Fitzgerald was the undisputed starter.

Gotta go with the OG, East Mississippi. Both they and Laney kinda sorta hit home for me. EMCC, simply because I live in Memphis, and a lot of kids from this area sign with that conference. Laney/California, because there were three kids from my parents' alma mater (along with five or so other Memphis guys) that were at Fullerton City College during Seasons 3-5. The basketball spinoff was str8, but I wish Laney got a follow-up season.

Good video bud. However, you don't need to fill the intro with so much of a recap of the netflix series. Took almost 4:30 to get to non-recap stuff.

Buddy is a foul mouthed bad sport of a coach. He may win occasionally but I'd never have my son play for him

If you think he’s bad you’ve never see high level coaches. A good coach probably wouldn’t want your coddled son anyways
