I'm sorry but I absolutely hated Signal - both the MV and the song - it's far more annoying than Likey (which I do like) - but whatever music or song you like is ok, because music is personal.
Something about how super catchy all Twice songs are, including non-promoted tracks, makes me wonder if it's quality songwriting or a guilty pleasure at something tasty but non-nutritious. And if it is quality songwriting, how do they churn out so many good tracks for Twice? They seem harmonically very simple, extremely easy to play bass along to and guess where it's going. A lot of songs written in what Keith Richards calls "piano keys" (black key tonics), but the patterns are what a guitarist would feel comfortable writing. Anyway, Heart Shaker is just pure unadulterated fun and if it's a guilty pleasure, just sentence me. Signal is also my favorite track, not coincidentally penned by JYP, and I'm glad Kevin mentioned the spaghetti arm choreo which is my fave part of the dance although it seems hard to do live since Momo is the only one who consistently does it while the others just fling their arms out. Hope finals went OK
keauxgeigh You have a wonderful way of phrasing it lmao. I think it’s definitely quality songwriting and decisions that songwriters make to use perhaps harmonically “simple” progressions and all. This doesn’t mean it has to be complex to be good.
