I am 71. Was in arthritic pain in my back and knees, feeling exhausted throughout the day, and on an inhaler. Was over 50 lbs overweight eating both complex and simple carbs. Began carnivore diet 90 days ago. At first I did not lose lbs. but my clothes atarted fitting better, PLUS arthritic pain waned, and I no longer needed an inhaler (within about 3 weeks). My energy is now constant throughout the day, I no longer crave sweets, and within the past 6 seeks have dropped twenty lbs. I feel GREAT. My brother just told me yesterday I appear and look younger with energy. I am so GREATFUL for meat based diet without processed grain and sugars. THANK YOU, GOD, for cows 😊

I'm an almost 48 years old white man. Never had any significant (obvious) illness or defect but, at 6'2" I had been overweight and soft at 225+ lbs for decades. March 1st of this year, my wife and I started a STRICT paleo diet; no processed foods, nothing with wheat flour, no sugar, only organic "free range" meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. I do calisthenics about 15 minutes every morning. I've lost over 50 lbs, I can see my abs, my skin is clean and glowing, my energy is much higher, and everything pretty much continues to feel better every day. My wife's results are pretty much the same! Eating only whole, real foods and getting a bit of exercise is absolutely the best thing any of us can do for ourselves AND the environment. It also helps local farms and businesses thrive, because we're not buying corporate produced goods. It's an absolute win.

The very beginning of the video is very on point. When it comes to diet, there are many misconceptions about what is healthy. Seed oils are NOT well known by the average person to be terrible for health. So many restaurants cook stuff in those oils. I used to think that getting chicken in a light sauce with a bunch of vegetables and rice was a healthy choice in a restaurant. Whether or not it is depends entirely on whether it is cooked in a healthy oil like olive, coconut, or avocado oil, or an unhealthy one like canola or some other vegetable seed oil. One is good for you, the other makes the meal terrible.

So true. The stuff at the start of the video about vegetable seed oils is pretty on point though. You can eat meals that seem really healthy, like chicken stir fried with a bunch of vegetables, and whether it's healthy or not is determined entirely by what kind of oil it's cooked in. Olive, coconut, or avocado oil get a thumbs up. Canola, soybean, or corn oil... the opposite. I think this is one of the keys to why health issues are so rampant, sometimes even people who are very health conscious think they are eating healthy but they are not.

Grass fed beef is actually pretty cheap to raise. It's the retailers charging more, along with government adding regulation and other costs that raises the price of meat.
Get to know people who raise livestock if you have the opportunity. You'll typically find smaller producers raise animals better. Make sure they are raising animals that fattened on a natural, holistic diet. Some breeds do better on pasture (like Hereford cattle) than Angus cattle.
Go ahead buy a chest freezer, buy whole animal and pay a butcher to cut and wrap the meat into the cuts you want. It's a great way to save a lot on your meat bill and boost local economies...

      @@debbieb1482
The reason why Angus are crossed with Herefords (Whitefaced Angus) is because of a study from the 70s or 80s that compared the taste of grain-finished Angus to other cattle, without figuring in what those other cattle were finished on. The flawed study found Angus won, and if you wanted more $$$ for cattle, they needed to be primarily black. (Likely the study was funded by those with a corner on Angus beefers at the time).
I find Herefords finished on diverse pasture taste much better than Angus finished on whatever.
The right breed means fattening on pasture is an important component in flavor. It means it's ready for the market faster, and that it has more marbling suitable for finer dining. Diverse pasture develops terroir and adds to complexity. Chefs actually prefer terroir in meat...

Great discussion. I'm a 5 year mostly carnivore (around 95% animal products). I was on a 'healthy' low fat omnivore diet for 45 years with increasing health issues. I went whole food plant based and my health got worse, much worse, very quickly. I reintroduced meat, read so much about carnivore that I tried it for 30 days, just to see. ALL my health issues resolved, so I kept at it. For me, it is the healthiest, easiest and most satiating way of eating. I live in New Zealand so all my meat is high quality, either grass fed and finished or wild hunted. When I eat fruit it's only local and seasonal out of my garden for a few weeks a year. Dairy is inflammatory for me, raw dairy isn't, and there's a local farm that sells it so I make my own raw cheese. I can't eat honey and I'd never drink fruit juice, I'm a carb addict so eating or drinking sugar makes zero sense. Don't listen to influencers, even when they're doctors, find out what works for you.

I got very sick in 2011. Every doctor told me that I was "fine." I still get told that, because by their medical standards, am healthy. It took me 10 years to figure out that it was a mold problem. I have a gene that doesn't process it correctly. I'm working on getting better from that and food is a big part of that. I was surprised at how unhealthy a lot of things I was eating are. I eat pretty clean now. Fruits and veggies everyday, protein, not a lot of bread, working out regularly. People often miss how HORRIBLE sugar is for you, too. It's in so much stuff, even ketchup! I do think people should be able to tolerate all healthy foods. I'm my own research, it seems as though there's something else going on if they can't such as Lyme's, heavy metals or mold (in my case). Mikela Peterson just found out that her primary issue is mold, and she's been able to add in other foods that she couldn't before.

Im a gardener and we have goats and ponies. I'm hesitant to use their manure because it could be contaminated with Grazon which is a herbicide which could be sprayed on hay fields. A local farmer said they only use it on pasture ground and not on hay but who knows for sure. A friend got some contaminated soil and it killed her plants. What does she do with it then? I know Miracle grow isn't goi g to kill my plants but the trade-off is it's expensive and synthetic. It's sometimes a classic catch-22.

avocado oil has a very high smoke point. i will not fry with olive oil because of the low smoke point. you can saute over low heat without denaturing the olive oil. butter is also not good for frying while ghee has a higher smoke point and can be made at home from butter.

I mostly agree with, Paul on many things. But he’s right about seed oils. He’s right about the inflammatory model of heart disease. He’s right about insulin resistance and sugar being the cause of much of our health problems. As a medical doctor, my goal is to help you be healthy. If you’re healthy, then you’re healthy- so why try to fit you into a box that you don’t fit into. Too many people report doing great on a particular diet and being admonished for it. But if it’s working then why would I want you to fix something that’s not broken.

Amazing. I just ordered Dr. Saladino’s book Carnivore Code yesterday, and he’s here on Rubin Report today. This has been happening to me A LOT lately.
