In short, no. Look closely at the schematic. C17 ties in to ground through the 160k resistor, so it must be wired carefully. C18 looks like you can pick up the chasis directly.
@@coolbluelights Best option is to go with the schematic, as you can't be sure if someone else had already tried to fix it and did it wrong, very common with older radios. I have a few older (1950's 60's) radios waiting for bench time, and the few I have already repaired had mistakes made by others. Look forward to hearing this radio when it is up and running good again.

This is what baffles me about these schematics. they're inconsistent with what I see on the chassis. so i'm not sure what to do...
