honestly I completely agree, modes other than 15v15 are so much fun, problem is they don't come around to often and when they do, they don't stay for very long
I am somewhat enjoying playing tier 6 Strongholds with my clan of noobs, but the whole Strongholds system could use a touch up. I would like for it to be like Onslaught (not with abilities) meaning that we could pick our tank after the map is loaded. Also team damage is sometimes yikes.
Between Frontline and new Steel Hunter, there almost isn't a reason to play standard battles anymore. Frontline is perfect for chilling with the boys and Steel Hunter is for sweating your ass off.
Your instructional videos are really good, useful for unicums to tomatoes, unlike other content creators who often make content too superficial. You should do this more.
I watched your old guide on Steel Hunter because I *SUCKED*. After watching it, I started to win those matches. I started with the Raven like you recommended, and played it almost exclusively until they nerfed it during the previous incarnation. I branched out to other tanks and found I was able to dominate with ease. I even had one win that I knew you'd have hated me for. It was the final two, me and some other scrub who hadn't watched one of your guides. He was in the Harbinger and I was in the Varyag or whatever that enormous Soviet turd is called. The field of play had closed down into the final little 1x1 area. I was down low in a canal and he was up top on a bridge that crossed the canal. He had no angle on me and was too chicken to go into the red zone for a few seconds so he could get down low with me and try to kill me off. We sat like that for a minute or so then the game field closed in completely. All squares were red. We were both being devoured by the game zone itself. I'm sure he was thinking, "Well, we'll both die here so it's a draw." Wrong. I watched your guide, I was armed with knowledge, and I popped my healing circle. I sat there getting healthier while the actual GAME murdered this man. I knew you would be disgusted. It was one of my proudest moments in WoT.
I agree the arlequin's double gun is kinda funny to just plop ~1000 into some poor sop, BUT ricochets and not penetrations make it super annoying, most of my wins with it were mid 10k games, all my anti tank machine gun/derp games were, lowest ~13k and highest 17k

In 2018, there was a battle royal mode that predates the original Steel Hunter, I don't remember what it was called, but it was a battle royal with selected tech tree tanks with drops with huge custom maps. Just a little trivia.

the best way and the only way to make the consumable score go green is to bring it back to basic: let every tank have every ability, just like how the 2019 version did it. doing this and the balancing issues will solve itself out - trap is no longer a Raven trademark (Raven is no longer the noob friendly tank); landmines will no longer be exclusive to Varyags, acid shots and lightinings for everyone. in fact, they can just copy and paste the entirety of the 2019's consumables set lists into Evolution, call it a day and it's still gonna work just fine.
Consumable CD reduction is what truly made me WANT to use my consumables versus other iterations where you had to hoard the meager handful you were given through the course of the match. EVERYONE gets the funny ball now.
I've had nothing but success with the arlequin double gun. It works well with a hit and run playstyle, and kicks ass in the lategame. If you can get 2 other peolle to fight each other when theres only 3 or 4 people left, then you can just third party them immediately. I've had a solo winrate around 70% with arlequin double gun.

I have played this gamemode to death, so I didn't learn much from this, but it was great to hear someone else talk about all these tactics. I have a winrate of about 20%, but mainly because I don't sweat to much and am always trying to break records, rather than win. I employ all the same strategies as you, but my aim is worse, my reaction time is worse, and I can't handle pressure as well. I once got 17 kills with my platoonmate in the platoon mode. You and I should platoon one day. I reckon we could get 20!

Thank you for the educating video chems. I honestly had a lot of fun playing the steel hunter, definitely a nice refresher, and quite frankly, I think I perform much better in this mode than in the usual arcade battles. Now idk how points are calculated after the game, but I think the win brings a lot of points, so for me it works best if I try to be passive early and then start picking up fights after I've upped tiers, but I think this really comes down to personal preferences, which only further supports that Steel Hunter is ultimately better than the pubs.

I believe that in general you overvalue equality in the matchmaking. SBMM will just result in sweats throwing on purpose so they can play against bots. And even without smurfs equal teams lead to more stress to perform and less "great games" as the opponents will be a lot better too. Nevermind new players learning absolutely nothing by making the same stupid mistakes and not getting punished by the equally bad players on the enemy team. SBMM is fine for a ranked system that actively counteracts smurfs, but not for a casual game like WOT

We need a video explaining all the quiet game mechanics/ things that were changed that players who weren't there during the change don't know about. For example, the credit modifiers for different tiers. I didn't know that existed until a while ago.
As someone who hasn't played wot in a long time (war thunder player), this guide was really indepth and helpful. Steel hunter is definitely the best mode and the only thing i occasionally return to wot for.

Some people in my clan think that going into the red zone is instadeath and I can't convince them to get stuff from the zone, it's very frustrating, when teammates handicap your victory by not knowing mechanics.
Play the 430u line, you skip t9 stock grind, you get to play super balanced tankies in random. Created equally fair as other meds, no op stuff. Solve problems, drink vodka
People including myself ngl, complaining about gamemode without arta whilst it is already here. I still wosh that one day we can play regular battles without arta. Yes premium rounds spam en BZ'S are annoying but i hate arta the kost myself. And just to think back that back in the days tier 8 arta was already able to 1 shot tier 10 tanks.
I like Steel Hunter. I kinda liked it more without the respawn mechanic, but I dont mind having a backup life, can just play more aggro. But it doesnt feel quite as exciting to play.

I dont know if I am tripping but the steel hunter I remember was a Tier 10 only battle royale where repair depots exist to compensate for the long fights. I only got to experience it once with my old IS-7, when it still had that erect gun.
There are Ukrainian men in Kiev who wipe the floor with me in games, 65% win ratio, 2000+ dmg per game, and it makes me feel like a complete moron. ADHD doesn't help, but my god it's frustrating.
It’s hard to take his serious videos seriously when he’s makes so many meme videos about WoT and how terrible it is but just never seems to move on from WoT. I don’t even like WoT, but it’s hard to watch someone who genuinely dislikes the game play it so much. Part of chems probably enjoys WoT.
These videos are what i love most about Chems. He lets some critical information out about gameplay that you have no clue, which gives you the ultimate shit.
I love using the double gun on the arlequin its amazing but maybe thats just me, would be easy back to back dubs with it as the high tier hits for 1k which people don't expect also my highest damage games where with the arlequin I think many above 15k and I think I managed to get 19k once with like 10 kills so I would say try the double gun out for yourself I thought it was trash too at one point till I gave it a try.

Chems, wasn't there one steel hunter season with 5 tanks, (Walkire, Herbringer, Raven, Arlequin and Varyag), this chart only shows when there were only 3 or 8
Basically nothing at distance, but once it get close. Be prepared that your health will melt very quickly... Honestly quite an interesting unique upgrade for this mod. Especially if you use fast tank for this kind of gun.
!!!WALL OF TEXT WARNING!!! 43 FUCKING HUNDRED SYMBOLS Imbalance is fun. Equality is not. Steel hunter is good only because of its maps. Imagine playing the airfield but 16 times bigger in steel hunter. Even if you have that consumables change or upgrades rebalance it would be not so important when you play boring corridor map. And imagine pub where you play on that Filnufir map. Perfect hilly terrain for every tank and especially for these who have good gun depression. City parts for super heavies. Different types of ground resistance. Maybe even good positions for Tds but I don’t care that much about campers. And every good position is not impossible to just flank on MT or LT. Even frontline maps suffering from that thing when you could not just push on 90% of the map because you just can’t. First steel hunter was bonkers. That was some fresh air. Interesting gameplay mechanics. Mix of genres. Fun to play. Imbalanced. But 8/10. Not much choice in upgrading your tank. Just get typical soviet or typical german tank or troll american. Also loved climbing ranks. Now it is just daily quests. Why would you shit talk HEAT rounds? Can’t hit something because hit screening armor? Skill issue. Use APCR. Deal less damage, loser. Yes, this is bullshit that you can’t hit something because of rng. This is imbalance. This is fun. And remember, that also applies to your opponents. Changing HEAT to AP is the worst changes you could even think of. Thank god I’m playing ru server. Reward for killing someone by decreasing cooldowns on abilities when you pick up a red drop… Is not a reward for killing someone. It is reward for picking up cool red drop. Heavies suck so much just because of that. They can not pick up a drop when they got third partied. That would be picked up by random LT that fired like two shots and then just outmaneuvered the heavy. High mobility tanks just better. Because terrain and, what is more important, reasons. Varyag’s mines ability is nice because you can just take away mobility of your opponents on certain 10x10m square. Beowulf’s ring is just like mines, it slows you down, but do not damage on tracks and stun only applies while you in it. And walkure… Walkure is just there. Afterburner (or how do you call it, I don’t care) does not give enough mobility. It is 75-90 km/h on light tanks. Just never catches up. Harbinger’s consumables don’t give any difference in mobility between him and his opponent, give massive advantage only if you don’t let opponent to run. Quite slow by nature. Doesn’t work in most cases. Why would I play something slow? On the other hand, Arlequin and Huragan are strong A tiers. High mobility. Stunning first consumable. Very high potential clip damage in the late game. Have nice upgrades to choose from. Bai Lang is just a rat. HE shells on top gun actually useful: just use them to hit tracks. Your opponent either tracked now, or he dared to use his repair kit. In first case, you get mobility advantage. In second case, your opponent will eat acid shot, then lose half of his health. Then you can do whatever you want, you alredy won that fight. Lil chum is just cute. He is a true S+ tier we made along the way. Raven. Second best DPM. Decent mobility. Shreds everything’s mobility with a trap. Unlike mines and ring, trap’s area extends on, like, half the map. Good luck. “I would teach them a lesson” he says. Consumables must be reshuffled between these tanks. Or be reshufflable. First SH introduced abilities that can be used among all three tanks. That was an equality. Good equality. Can be ruined by rng and become imbalance. It was very common to be ruined by rng in this mode. And still is. And this is why it is fun. Next hunters vehicles would be bussin, but flamethrower and rockets would be the most overpowered things you can add to SH. Definetely would be nice to add. And, you know, if special gamemode rewards you with fun, then why you would want it to reward you more with in-game currency? Like your guides and channel overall, hope spreading of knowledge would push people to actually play the game instead of beating around the bushes. Clickbaits are also on every single video but I not feel like I’m clickbaited. It is actually feels like a good joke. And please, stop “trolling” people for videos. People including myself ngl, complaining about gamemode without arta whilst it is already here. I still wosh that one day we can play regular battles without arta. Yes premium rounds spam en BZ'S are annoying but i hate arta the kost myself. And just to think back that back in the days tier 8 arta was already able to 1 shot tier 10 tanks.
I like Steel Hunter. I kinda liked it more without the respawn mechanic, but I dont mind having a backup life, can just play more aggro. But it doesnt feel quite as exciting to play.

I dont know if I am tripping but the steel hunter I remember was a Tier 10 only battle royale where repair depots exist to compensate for the long fights.
I only got to experience it once with my old IS-7, when it still had that erect gun.

It’s hard to take his serious videos seriously when he’s makes so many meme videos about WoT and how terrible it is but just never seems to move on from WoT. I don’t even like WoT, but it’s hard to watch someone who genuinely dislikes the game play it so much. Part of chems probably enjoys WoT.
These videos are what i love most about Chems. He lets some critical information out about gameplay that you have no clue, which gives you the ultimate shit.

I love using the double gun on the arlequin its amazing but maybe thats just me, would be easy back to back dubs with it as the high tier hits for 1k which people don't expect also my highest damage games where with the arlequin I think many above 15k and I think I managed to get 19k once with like 10 kills so I would say try the double gun out for yourself I thought it was trash too at one point till I gave it a try.
I'd like to mention the pre-SH battle royale mode from 2018, where you were basicly playing just a wz 5a or e50m. It was a lot of fun to me and it was a very smooth change from normal randoms. What do you think?

Imbalance is fun. Equality is not. Steel hunter is good only because of its maps. Imagine playing the airfield but 16 times bigger in steel hunter. Even if you have that consumables change or upgrades rebalance it would be not so important when you play boring corridor map. And imagine pub where you play on that Filnufir map. Perfect hilly terrain for every tank and especially for these who have good gun depression. City parts for super heavies. Different types of ground resistance. Maybe even good positions for Tds but I don’t care that much about campers. And every good position is not impossible to just flank on MT or LT. Even frontline maps suffering from that thing when you could not just push on 90% of the map because you just can’t.
First steel hunter was bonkers. That was some fresh air. Interesting gameplay mechanics. Mix of genres. Fun to play. Imbalanced. But 8/10. Not much choice in upgrading your tank. Just get typical soviet or typical german tank or troll american. Also loved climbing ranks. Now it is just daily quests. Why would you shit talk HEAT rounds? Can’t hit something because hit screening armor? Skill issue. Use APCR. Deal less damage, loser. Yes, this is bullshit that you can’t hit something because of rng. This is imbalance. This is fun. And remember, that also applies to your opponents. Changing HEAT to AP is the worst changes you could even think of. Thank god I’m playing ru server.
Reward for killing someone by decreasing cooldowns on abilities when you pick up a red drop… Is not a reward for killing someone. It is reward for picking up cool red drop. Heavies suck so much just because of that. They can not pick up a drop when they got third partied. That would be picked up by random LT that fired like two shots and then just outmaneuvered the heavy. High mobility tanks just better. Because terrain and, what is more important, reasons.
Varyag’s mines ability is nice because you can just take away mobility of your opponents on certain 10x10m square. Beowulf’s ring is just like mines, it slows you down, but do not damage on tracks and stun only applies while you in it. And walkure… Walkure is just there. Afterburner (or how do you call it, I don’t care) does not give enough mobility. It is 75-90 km/h on light tanks. Just never catches up. Harbinger’s consumables don’t give any difference in mobility between him and his opponent, give massive advantage only if you don’t let opponent to run. Quite slow by nature. Doesn’t work in most cases. Why would I play something slow? On the other hand, Arlequin and Huragan are strong A tiers. High mobility. Stunning first consumable. Very high potential clip damage in the late game. Have nice upgrades to choose from. Bai Lang is just a rat. HE shells on top gun actually useful: just use them to hit tracks. Your opponent either tracked now, or he dared to use his repair kit. In first case, you get mobility advantage. In second case, your opponent will eat acid shot, then lose half of his health. Then you can do whatever you want, you alredy won that fight. Lil chum is just cute. He is a true S+ tier we made along the way. Raven. Second best DPM. Decent mobility. Shreds everything’s mobility with a trap. Unlike mines and ring, trap’s area extends on, like, half the map. Good luck. “I would teach them a lesson” he says.
Consumables must be reshuffled between these tanks. Or be reshufflable. First SH introduced abilities that can be used among all three tanks. That was an equality. Good equality. Can be ruined by rng and become imbalance. It was very common to be ruined by rng in this mode. And still is. And this is why it is fun. Next hunters vehicles would be bussin, but flamethrower and rockets would be the most overpowered things you can add to SH. Definetely would be nice to add. And, you know, if special gamemode rewards you with fun, then why you would want it to reward you more with in-game currency?
Like your guides and channel overall, hope spreading of knowledge would push people to actually play the game instead of beating around the bushes.
