From Safety data sheets and solvents to ingredients concentration and flash points, head space, microencapsulation, maceration, aroma fixatives... Ive been using fragrances in my products but I learned so much from this interview I feel motivated to educate myself more about what Im using now. Thank you Marie and Nathan ♡
Thanks Marie for posting this. Been a maker for over 25 years and it amazes me how I've learned more in regard to fragrances from Ethan than from any supplier I've purchased from!
I love stock fragrances, when I stumbled across them, I ordered a couple samples and then more samples and hands down most depth and attractive odors than other agencies.
Love this video! Just ordered the sample pack, can’t wait to get them. I like to make all natural products, so can’t wait. One of my issues with my small business is I buy a fragrance to get my signature line and so far I have had 4 companies stop carrying that fragrance so I have to discontinue that line and that is soooo frustrating, because customers may come back for that product with that fragrance you can no longer get. Thank you for this video and I can’t wait to buy from a company that will have consistency.
Marie:🤯 Nathan: 😏 Your face, Marie, when he told you that fragrance gets stronger and fuller as it melds with the other ingredients. Thanks to Nathan for this super informative interview! ❤
Ughhhh!! This was so cool!! When you were talking about not trying to cover up the strong scent in formulation I remembered your video about kombo butter and patchouli!! You are on point girl!!! Thank you so much for this!!! so darn interesting ❤❤❤
Wow, I learned a lot while washing my dishes & listening to this podcast. I’m not sure if I just missed it but was there a question for Nathan about why fragrance oils affect the consistency or why the FO’s affect the product being made?
EU now has around 80 allergens we need to list. It's over $500 per test (GC-MS) if the supplier hasn't caught up and doesn't provide such extensive results. You should be flushing your headspace with nitrogen or argon, or go as far as bubbling-out the dissolved oxygen. Hydrophobic silica can be used towards a sort of encapsulation.
@@L_27Forsythe nah, some naturals, all most all synthetics (chemical). Natural fragrances are inferior and very oftentimes sensitizing. Always opt for synthetics for both cosmetics and perfumery of possible.
Great Video! I have sampled some of your products and they are heavenly! Question: How can I reach out to Stock Fragrance for formulation tips? I am trying to formulate a specific fragrance and would like to hear some of your recommendations! Thank you!
Thanks Marie for the very informative interview! It's so true about the importance of allowing the fragrances develop and macerate even if I'm only referring to essential oils because im sensitive to some synthetic scents! Also when you mentioned evaporation of water in soaps, check out Simi at Muddy Mint Soaps who uses a 50/50 lye solution that allows you to use less water hence less cure time!😊 Thanks again ❤
Yes and many soap makers choose to mix their lye at the same time they make soap but Simi explines in her book how it's much more efficient to make it ahead and then it allowes you to easily add liquids like milk or honey or anything that is heat sensitive. @DanaNelson-fd4fu
Simi suggests weighing your soap because different factors come into play. But once your soap weighs consistently the same, then it's done losing water. Soap, however, is ready to use after 24 to 48 hours because soponification is complete. @@DanaNelson-fd4fu
I know that using a 50/50 lye solution is not new but maybe making it up in advance is sort of a new concept, it is to me and has benefits like not having to mix up lye every time you want to make soap. The 50/50 lye water is already mixed and ready to use! @@inkpearls3364

thank you for awesome webinar
❤Stock fragrances are real fragrances. They are beyond any fragrances you will purchase from any candle supply store.
Just to clarify, stock fragrances are all natural, no chemicals?
