  • How to plane wood using a router and a straight bit.
    Planning/Surfacing Burl or Curly wood can be a challenge, sometimes you can't use a planer. This very basic and simple jig allows me to plane wood with a router.

    Lack of commentary not a problem. Many other videos people talk too much.

    Nick Offerman has a similar jig in his shop. His is adjustable height, way longer, and is on casters that roll up and down his table saw's outfeed table.
    Same basic concept, his is just way upgraded. Good job, champ.

    I just finished building the handrail on my deck ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z and used this great little router to clean up the top rail before the final sanding and stain. It was light weight but packed lots of power. Either size battery didn't seem to make it top heavy and I'm a 64 yr old women so I really appreciated how easy it was to use...................... CORDLESS only way to go !!

    what did you use as finish? also, did you have to clean up the bark at all and will the bark chip off?

    • @FabiansTinyWorkshop
      @FabiansTinyWorkshop  10 лет назад

      Thanks!
      I used Danish Oil as a Finish.
      I used a wire brush to remove the dirt.
      In this case i'm pretty confident that the bark will not chip off. But it depends on the wood species.
