I voted for it, in fact I was a life long SNP supporter. I'm having buyer's regret now. First doubts surfaced when they blew £500million on the parliament building.
If you want to achieve similar levels of stupidity at Westminster you could implement PR voting. I find it notable that there's a lot of Alphabet people at Holyrood, would they be vastly overrepresented if every MSP was voted for? Just saying, it's not necessarily homophobia but these folks are likely not so connected to voters as someone with kids at school and a tight budget. It's a young parliament too so it's full of neophyte activists, not enough old timers.

@@colinmacdonald5732 I have met many people who have voted for the SNP all of their adult lives and are now pensioners but have always believed in independence and never in a million years would they support an English based party instead they have joined Alba.

I fundamentally agree with a lot of the analysis, esp Scottish Greens is a truly ideologically woke party. But tbh, beyond the woke true-believers, I’m tired of a lazy kind of culture war takes, when it’s used just to give out a vibe to discuss loads of disparate issues, but without actually analyzing them.
The politics of each cultural issue in different times, by different people, for different motivations, don’t always need to be lumped together. There have always been these, and if we want to think we’re above “cultural wars” then we should stop relying on that lens to do the journalism/opinion arguments for us. Or think that the most important interesting/important analysis of them is to simply say it’s woke.
Like Keir taking the knee during the blm crazy time was representative of the collective insanity, but it’s the not really to the Scottish Greens off the deep end denying reality/science/children’s health with the Cass review, and denying North Sea oil. There comes a point when just lumping everything together is lazy thinking.

Was agreeing with much of what was said here until the host made uninformed and frankly ignorant remark that the SNP are anti English. Why is it anti English to want self determination for Scotland?
