Great explanation of pros and cons of Disney transportation and emarcation times. Most influencers only talk about getting on as early as possible. Also your tips really are so useful and unique. These are the things I wish I had known on my first trip and not many people are talking about these tips!
Oh my gosh what a nice comment! Thank you so much! I was trying to come up with some unique ones, so I’m glad you felt that way! Thanks for watching and commenting!
We like to have room service delivery, on your last FULL day. This you can get some juice, milk, cereal and refrigerated the cold items. This way we have a quick breakfast in our room without hauling our luggage around or holding up the room attendant. Thanks for sharing 🤗 Happy Sailing🚢⚓️❤
For disembarkation, if you did not leave your luggage out the night before and are taking it off yourself, you *can* be in the first group off the ship but you don't have to be. I was on the Fantasy in February 2024, I took my luggage off with me but nobody rushed me off the ship. I had packed to carry on the airplane and I was traveling solo so I didn't have large or several suitcases. I had late seating dinner, so I got the later seating for breakfast and did not know Cabanas was open. I left my luggage outside the restaurant with everyone else's, dawdled over my breakfast and disembarked at my leisure. The benefit to me was that I didn't have to rush to pack the night before, I could pack my pajamas and everything else I needed overnight how I wanted and I didn't have to hunt and peck searching for my luggage in the terminal before getting in line at customs.
Such a good point! Now that we have taken our own luggage off the ship and loved it, I think we might do it even if we don’t need to be the first people off the ship! I want to take our time getting off like you did. That sounds so nice! Thank you for sharing such a great tip!!
We are so lucky to be able to go often! I don’t have a ton of tips but maybe a few little ideas! When we started cruising with Disney we did 4-night cruises and always picked the least expensive time to go in January or February. We also always book a placeholder while we are on our cruise so we get 10 percent discount. And I book it using our Disney visa which means you have 6 months interest fee to pay off the vacation which is nice for flexibility. I have never done this last tip but I’ve seen people book a guaranteed stateroom where you don’t get to pick your exact room just the category and that can save a lot depending on the cruise!
Thank you!!! we usually have our travel agent make the request when we book the cruise or add it on later. They are able to do that for you. Or if you don’t have a travel agent, you can call. But actually, they have a new feature in the Disney cruise app that makes it much easier. If you go into your reservation there is something called ‘review your cruise options’ and they have 6 different steps they walk you through where you confirm your dining time, etc. The last one, step 6, is special requests and you can request table options including private table on that last step!
I heard you mention that one of your kid has food allergies. My eldest child has a peanut allergy which makes travel difficult, although, Disney is pretty good about it. I think several parents like myself might apricate a tip video about navigating WDW or doing a Disney cruise with food allergies.
Great info! I’m going on the Disney Wish cruise soon, but don’t know where to leave my car before boarding… is there a designated parking lot for Disney cruise goers or do I need to find a separate parking lot? Also how much $ would it be per day?
Ah so exciting! We have never parked our car at the terminal but here is what I know. You will be at either terminal 8 or 10 at port Canaveral depending on when your cruise is leaving. Here is more information on the Disney website: disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/departure-port-address-parking/?. There is an official designated paid parking area operated by the port and it is $17 per day including arrival and departure days. So you don’t need to find a separate parking lot. Here is the port website: www.portcanaveral.com/Cruise/Directions-Parking. Hope that helps!
Thanks, great tips! Just wondered about seating request, we are a family of 4 and would ideally like a table to ourselves, however I’ve added the request to be ‘near a screen’ as I’m thinking that will be fun for the Crush interactive part at animators palette, ( Disney Dream). Do you think I should swap it for seating alone? Thanks xx
Thank you!! We have never not made the private table request so I’m not sure how likely it will be that you are paired with another family. I just know it can happen. I do think it is awesome to be near the screens so if I were you I would probably have my travel agent (or if you don’t have one then you can call Disney cruise I think) to see if I could get both requests added since on the app you have to pick just one!
We did the screen request and it was good, but we were with another family. We chatted a bit but thankfully we and the other family kept to ourselves the majority of the time. This time though we booked a private table for September. Looking forward to see how that’s like.
How do you get your child set up for a chat ? We will be cruising in September and my kids will be 11. I tried to figure out if there was a way for them to have an account for just the chat but i couldn't figure out a way how lol .
Great question! I was worried about this our first time but they make it super easy. Your kids do not need their own account! There is nothing to do ahead of time other than make sure the Disney cruise line app is downloaded on their device. Once you are on the ship’s wifi, the app will look different and the first thing it will ask you to do is link your stateroom. You just follow the steps after that. Kids under 13 do need a pin from the primary adult on the reservation to allow them to chat. Tap the child’s name in the app on the adult’s phone to obtain the pin. Your kids can then enter this pin on their app and start chatting. If you approve, they can also chat with any friends they make in the clubs. But yes nothing you can do now other than download the app. I hope you have a great cruise!
We have been dropped off by Uber before but never driven and parked. When you don’t use Disney transportation you don’t get an early port arrival time automatically assigned, but that’s ok just check in as soon as possible to get the earliest time you can.
I got it from Disney World earlier this year! However they do have a similar versions on the Disney cruise and you can find the Disneyland version on shopdisney if you search by ‘Minnie Mouse T-Shirt for Women - Disneyland 2024.’ Thanks for watching and commenting!
That should work depending on where you are going! Just check the website and verify, because I think you might also need your birth certificate then too, depending on where you are going. disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/passport-travel-documentation/.

Going on our first Disney cruise this December and these were the types of tips I’ve been looking for! Great video!
