These bikes are cool & can be bought in great condition for $2 & $3000 like the 67 Bridgestone hurricane 175 scrambler $3000 in super clean condition....If I got that bike for $200, I'd turn it into a little cafe racer 2 stroke ripper. Make some expansion pipes for it. Port the engine for some extra HP.

@@GilJimman ...me too in London...but Bridgestones were almost unknown here...except their tyres...which were a bit evil...low to zero grip...all Japanese tyres were poor...especially Yokohama...i was an 'all but one bike' a 2stroke exclusive owner till the mid eighties...I did start on a Honda Cub though...then went 2stroke...but i rode a company 4stroke for a few months in between...i never owned it...only temporary job...i had a string of Suzukis..500...125..2x 185's...a Kawasaki KH250B...by 1986 i was back on 4strokes...company bikes i never owned...till the 90's arrived and finally bought my first decent 4stroke VT500 Honda 1991...only had 4strokes after i sold my KH250B too...but many years later got her back...long story that...still have that in restoration mode...one day i might complete it but i wouldn't count on it

Brings back memories, one of my cousins had a 175 to ride to school back in the early '70s. Could never understand why the Bridgestone brand disappeared from motorcycle until I read years later what the other Japanese bike makers did by blackmailing them into giving up making bikes or losing their tyre customers. They made great bikes. Great job getting it going.

No rush. I’m 65 and it’s a pleasure to watch your channel. I haven’t ridden my bike , Yamaha 1100 since my stroke in 2022 it’s a a friend’s house collecting dust. I must thank you. I went to start my snowblower the other day and it wouldn’t start. Yep, the day before the snowstorm. We got a lot of snow, and I do two of my neighbors as well. Now what? I then went back to your videos. Checked spark and it had an excellent spark. The compression should be OK as it is only 6 years old. So, it had to be fuel. I don’t have any experience with carburetors, so I tried starter fluid first to make sure and it started right up and quit as it wasn’t getting any gas. So, I knew I had to remove the carburetor. I remembered your videos and decided to give it a try. Cleaned the carburetor with brake cleaner and reinstalled. Started right away. Please don’t changed the amount of detail you go into. If it wasn’t for your videos, I would never have tried repairing it myself. If someone has the experience and find that you are giving too much detail, they can always fast forward if they wish. I subscribed and giving a like to your videos for here on in. Thanks again. Pat

I think the 175 was the most sold BStone out of the lineup of 50cc's to 350cc. Your bike is surprisingly complete. They made 2 derivatives of the 75 twin.....the steet version you have there and then a masterpiece on/off road version with upswept exhausts and DUAL RATIO GEARBOX
    What a magnificent bike
Sadly they hung up their building gloves

I was a mechanic at a Suzuki dealer in Santa Maria CA in the early 1970's. They came with a rotary shifter and that was dangerous as could be. The factory sent us a kit that converted them to normal shifting down for first and up for higher gears. They were fast and reliable for the day. Cool you got one. My personal motorcycle was a Suzuki 250cc T10 then got a Suzuki 500cc twin Titan always liked the two strokes.

Neutral is all the way up in 4 speed (Rotary) gear mode. In (Sport) mode there is no neutral. I had the 1971 100 TMX-7 trail model with double rear sprockets to be changed over for trail riding. My dad had the 350 Model with shifter that could be used on either side. Also had the 6 speed option with Sport Shift mode.

My first motorcycle was a Bridgestone Hurricane Scrambler. I rode that bike hard in the local brick factory pits along with others . You could not kill that bike.

I can't believe you found a Bridgestone 175. Those things are real collectable. I saw a video of a guy who had a whole building full of Bridgestone parts and bikes. But I don't think you will be able to find the side covers. If you did you would pay a pretty penny for them. But that was a find there in case you haven't figured it out already. I'm not surprised it started right up. They should have not ever stopped making motorcycle.

This brings back memories for me. Around 1970 I bought this same 1968 175 Bridgestone from a neighbor and had a lot of fun riding it. I know it was around 1970 because it was a year or so before I got my drivers license which I got in 1972

Good job getting the old bike running, I suspect that you know more than you showed in the video. You didn't even look at the points much less check the timing.
The transmission oil must be nasty.
But it has the switchable 4 speed rotary shift or 5 speed 1 down 4 up. Great find.

My 2nd bike in 68. Rotary valves & rotating gear box. No blinkers 😊 All hand signals. Amazed at the miles I did on it. Also had the 350cc GT. This company could have gone places with their innovative bikes. Still, they make good tyres
