A date is not given, but it sounds like what often happened in the fifties, sixties, and even the seventies: feelings expressed by women were not taken seriously and not expected to be taken seriously. Sad.
@thurayya8905 What women said was widely dismissed in the '80s. Hell, it's still happening now, today, albeit to a lesser extent thank god. If you watch the "ghost shows" on Discovery and Travel Channel, it's a common theme in stories from the nineties and later.
The English author Charles Dickens requested to be buried in the grounds of Rochester Castle in Kent England UK . He set many of his stories in the area . After his death he was instead buried elsewhere . He had wanted a small informal ceremony , ended up with a huge state funeral and was interred in a fancy London Cathedral 😶 He is said to haunt Rochester to this day . I live about 20 minutes walk away from Rochester .

Having lived one town up from Pownal I an mot at all surprised to hear that story. That area in general is fairly full of hauntings, and with how scattered and decentralized the sprawl of that town is, there's ample room for all sorts of leftovers. There's just simply not enough living energy to nudge the dead out to the next world.

Hey, the White Lady! I'm from Easton, have passed Union cemetery many times, visited, and even taken photos, and I've never seen her. Still, fantastic video!
I grew up in Bridgeport Connecticut. Myself, my father and middle brother used to see the ghosts of children in the first home we lived in.
