    That is huge! Much bigger than any room I had at uni. Mind you back then they did not do things like en suite rooms. Everyone just shared bathrooms at York.

      York did have ensuite in grad college. New buildings. Although, I was in Vanguard college and that was not ensuite for first year.

    You can buy transparent plastic sheets designed to insulate windows. Cheap and easy to install.

    Hi Arthur
    I don't live in the UK. That's why I don't know what colleges are. Are they the place where you live?If somebody answer my question I'll be very grateful.

    • @ABM-UK
      @ABM-UK  2 года назад

      The universities of Oxford and Cambridge are unique in that they are made up of colleges. Your college is where you live, get taught (most of the time) and make friends as it’s essentially your home. Lectures and labs are held outside of college but seminars and tutorials are run by tutors in your college. If you need any more information, you should find it on the university website

      @@ABM-UK Thank you very much I understand.In other words, in our country, college means a place of lower education than university. But there the meaning is completely different.

    Hi again Arthur.
    Can you tell me if you study Engineering or Physics? Do I need both PAT and A-level document? Or if we study foundation year, do we still need an A level or IB document?
    Thank you😊

    • @ABM-UK
      @ABM-UK  2 года назад

      Hi, I'm afraid I study French and Spanish and am not an international student so I won't be much help. However, I can say with some certainty that you will need to do the PAT as well as having the results from your high school exams

    Hi Arthur. I want to ask a question. Is it possible to live in Oxford colleges just paying for accommodation and not paying for food? I mean does the university allow it?
    Thank you very much

    • @ABM-UK
      @ABM-UK  2 года назад

      I'm fairly sure that in all colleges you only ever have to pay for accommodation by itself. You buy whatever food you want to buy. If you don't have a kitchen, you're more likely to eat in Hall but that is fairly cheap and you pay as you go but if you do have a kitchen, you're more likely to buy food to cook for yourself. I hope that helps

    • @gfax635
      @gfax635 2 года назад

      @@ABM-UK Thank you Arthur it helps. So I don't have to pay for eating at the Hall? Because on Oxford's own website, the amount of money needed for food in the Hall is also written for each college. Then it's probably only for those who want it.

    Hi Arthur, when you say apply for a grade 1-3 or 4-6, can you be rejected for the room ect? Is it a first come first served basis? And also how much does the price vary between the different levels? Thanks!!

    • @ABM-UK
      @ABM-UK  Год назад +1

      When you receive an offer and they send you a form to fill out, you can specify whether you want a grade 1-3 room or a grade 4-6 room - it is not first come first served but if you don't fill it out, you obviously won't have your preference registered and you'll be assigned a room last. In my year, there were too many people who wanted a grade 1-3 room so some people got bumped up, however, the college offered to pay the additional amount for those who couldn't afford it. All the information regarding the details and pricing can be found here: www.worc.ox.ac.uk/applying/undergraduates/student-life/undergraduate-accommodation
