I could listen to Jackie talk about bones all day!
same here
As could I.
Jackie is one of my favorites. She’s the reason my niece is pursuing a career in osteoarcheology
Good on you!
I wish her all the best! Yay!
Something I've always loved about Jackie is her knack for putting very complex concepts into relatable, understandable terms. She explains things so well
One of the reasons Time Team got so right…. Finding experts who could make things make sense…. But not by talking down to us.
Thanks so much to Tim, Jackie and of course Sir Tony for this fascinating programme. It's almost a shock, even through the filter of the screen, to see how moving it is to see the plait of hair in the woman's tomb there; albeit the hair colour having changed with time. Sort of brings one up short.
Nice one Team! ⭐👍
What a treat to see Sir Tony and Jackie! I’m a New Englander. We have nothing like this show in the US.
Well, we had a time team US version but no one watched it.

@@picassomoooni recall seeing a time team in the US. Phil was gnashing his teeth in frustration as the US bods balked at the idea of machining off the top layer and sieved everything. They said it was because they had so little every scrap was precious. I dont think Phil agreed with them. It was very tedious.
@@helenamcginty4920
That was “Time Team UK” who traveled to the US for one episode.
Picassomooon meant that there was an actual Time Team America. Only nine episodes were made.
That's because we can't shine a light on archaeology in the Americas without reckoning with heavy colonization. People don't even think we "have" anything as old as in Europe, whether that's because they think it doesn't exist or because they can't relate with it.
This was a joy - it's fantastic to listen to experts in their field, so thanks to all concerned, but especially Jackie for her insights
I love listening to Jackie talk. And I love her style aesthetic.
Is that what its called. I assumed she dresses like I do. Whatever is clean and ironed will do.
🎉 Jackie McKinley (and Margaret Cox)
Fascinating and educational listening to someone describing their passion. It's contagious. Thank you.
Stimulating! So appreciate of the exchange of knowledge...
Love this. Still the best show on earth. It's a right treat to sit at their knees, even virtually, and listen to them expound on memories and recent developments, get their thoughts and insights.
ill never forget that plait of hair in Jackies hand. Made every cell in my body tingle just seeing it. absolutely magical indeed.
That was fascinating, could've listened for three times as long!
Not long enough. We’d watch a whole series of Jackie talking about bones and osteoarcheology.
In a case similar to the Amesbury Archer, the bronze age Egtved Girl in Denmark was found through isotope analysis to have travelled to and from northern Germany. But in 2019, Danish researchers realised that the samples of soil which established the isotope level for Denmark gave a distorted value, as they were taken from farming areas where lime fertiliser has been used. When samples were taken from non-farming areas, it was found that the Egtved Girl had been born, lived and died in Denmark. I wonder if the Amesbury Archer's story will also change in light of new research?
I think the Archer is different; origin for him is based on the metals (gold) and tools he was buried with, not only soil or isotope analysis. I may be misremembering though.
Thanks for the info. That's amazing
The initial testing on the girl was done a long time ago. And there were not much bones available to test.
Thank you so much 🙏 "Additional insights from Jackie, Tony and Tim, exclusively on Patreon."
🥳 Yes!! I'm thrilled to be with Time Team on Patreon... see you all again soon.
Excellent video! Love to hear Jackie speak!
How can you not be motivated by hearing these three lovely people talking with so much passion. Thanks.
Absolutely love this, i only wish Mick was still around to see how quickly technology has advanced for detailed analysis.
I could listen to Jackie for hours. Tim, Sir Tony are interesting, too.
Enjoyed this immensely. It was more a case of Tim talking bones with Jackie while Sir Tony enjoys their conversation. Tim is underrated as an interviewer. More Tim pls!
Jackie is simply brilliant. What an invigorating conversation.
The best part of Time Team has always been hearing the enthusiasm and passion of everyone while talking about finds and the depth of knowledge they're able to communicate with such enthusiasm 😍 thank you for this!
Whilst the jokes surely write themselves, this was always a fascinating video about history and humanity.
I rediscovered Time Team last year when I had to spend a lot of time flat on my back recouperating from an operation. It was the best way to fill in those hours. I love the episodes where Jackie and Helen are teamed up to cover bones and small finds etc. It is a delight to watch the pair of them get excited over a pottery shard or a bone in the ground. Jackie's ability to recognise even a small bone fragment is like a superpower. And I still watch TT, even if I've seen the episode before.
What a great aid to recovery! Hope you're doing well now.
@@KatieRae_AmidCrisis Thank you, yes.
Unfortunately there's no cure for time team addiction, happy viewing 😊😊😊
Jacki and Tony could talk for hours and I'd be captivated
What a treat!
also, with regard to Sir Tonys rant, I was one of those folks that was in favor of wholesale digging for a long time. but thinking about the geophys results from the original episode at athelney vs what the towed arrays and lidar techniques of today are doing in the rebooted youtube episodes, I applaud the restraint and humane empathy you professionals show. My hat is genuinely off to it. If i won the lotto and bought a listed site, it would be my extreme urge to dig up absolutely everything. I have such a deep yearning to know things. a compulsive need really. So again, my hats off to that.
Bonjour à tous. Just watched Arte, the french and german channel, about Champollion. Then Time Team. Cool evening.
Loved this! 👏👏
i am a lifelong pedestrian by choice. i can sure tell you the human skeleton wasnt meant to walk on concrete all the time LOL. So good to see you all, and on such a fascinating topic :) Happy new years all.
Fascinating!
What a treat!
Brilliant!
Nice to see you three again 👍
A grand discussion. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Just far to short! Could have watched so much more
This kind of information is simply fascinating! I’ve learned so much through all the Time Team productions, and especially the presentations with discussions on special topics. In my next life I want to be an archeologist! 😊Thank you Time Team.
We are so fortunate to have access to such amazing expertise and stories of the past told in such an interesting and entertaining way. Thanks so much Jackie , Tony and Tim. I love Time Team!
Lovely thanks for sharing.🥰
I could listen to tony and Jackie all day
A great pleasure and a wonderful conversation -- always loved it when Jackie showed up in an episode ❤
Fantastic. The new analyses are incredible.
Such fascinating stuff! I could listen to her for hours and hours!
That was very enjoyable on many levels, more, more, more...
Just brilliant 🙏👌
Sorry I missed this, I was watching another premiere! Choices, choices!
My family is from the Alsace-Lorraine area and it's wonderful to see a long , long , long lost relative become famous.😊
This is lovely. It's SO nice to hear Tim mentioning Phil who has, of course, been conspicuous by his absence, and Jackie even breaking into a Wiltshire accent at one point. More of the same, please. Maybe convince Raksha, a Time Team alumna who has certainly gone on to other great things in archaeology, to drop by, reminisce, and let us know what she's been up to as president of the Council for British Archaeology.
This was a wonderful episode, so interesting and informative. It Is amazing just how far science has progressed over the last few years. It will be interesting to see if at some point in the future we will know more about the ancestors of The Amesbury Archer.
Fascinating stuff.
I could have listened to this discussion for hours. Thanks so much!
Thanks, really enjoyed this! 🥰👍👍
A wonderful conversation. Shame it has to end. A wealth of knowledge.
What a fantastic episode. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and passion.
Thank you for a riveting discussion. So informative and enlightening, as well as enjoyable. Please can we have more of this type of video.
Such a fascinating conversation. Could listen to this type of chat all day. So interesting.
It could have lasted another 3 hours. Perhaps Tony, Tim and Jackie would not have been so thrilled but I would have been. Time Team best programme ever. Thank you for this pearl TT!
Absolutely brilliant, that was wonderful, thank you so much!
That sounds like he didn't come from Salisbury. He didn't talk like Phil. 🤣🤣 That was very funny.
I found the photo interesting as she seemed to be pointing with her left hand.
Anything involving Tony is something I'll sit thru happily. I'll always consider him the "everyman" of Time Team, asking the goofy questions that us "common" folk might ask. As the years passed, he certainly did earn his credentials as a "Digger", absorbing the wisdom and knowledge of people like Mick, Phil, Jackie and the whole team. Jackie is the kind of scientist that doesn't just look at the bones, she tries to put them into a living context and bring them to "life" so to speak. Amazes me that she can look at a fragment of bone and know where it comes from, and often how old the person was. She's truly a mistress of the bones.
Gosh this was wonderful! I so enjoyed listening to Jackie, what a wealth of knowledge and insight bought to each find , stellar interview!
All the best Jules 💕
Fabulous! Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful!
Fascinating!!!
Thank you for a very informative and enjoyable show. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌹
This is such a good video. I'm personally always a bit uncomfortable when bones turn up. But this conversation has given me new insights and has learned me a lot.
I LOVE bones. I have my master's in forensic osteology. Could never find a job in it. I'm glad Dr. Jackie did!❤
I could have listened all day! Thank you so much 😊
Really enjoyed this....more please
Such a fascinating subject. I always learn a lot from listening to Jackie. As an aside I'd love to know where Jackie got those beautiful earrings from.
This little discussion encapsulates what is so great about TimeTeam, people who are truly passionate about their field sharing so much information...it's the best way to learn anything!
Behavioural insight into things such as how mobile people were, and how they were able to be so, is an interesting field of study on its own. What were the social norms and taboos of the past are also fascinating. Thank you Jackie and friends.
I really wanted to wake up to see the livestream of this presentation but sleep got the better of me.
I’m in Tasmania to see the livestream meant be up at 6am, slightly too early for me.
I viewed it later in the day, I must say it was good to see some of the team again. 😊
great video, and to see time team meet and chat, thank u. SHARE.SHARE
This is lovely and all that information from a leg.. so cool! Thank you for making it and having Jackie round!
I could have sat & listened to more tonight.
How about a special on Victor’s art? He demonstrated so much talent across different mediums
I love that Tony is still doing his job as a presenter in this, picking up on anything that might not be clear and asking them to clarify. ^^
Thanks.
Fantastic conversation. More of these
Brilliant, Thankyou
I was never that interested in archeology except for a few arrowheads found in feilds until I stumbled on Time Team several years ago. My loss.
Loving this!
Tickled my bones this did ❤
Thanks for more time team content ,always interesting
It would be nice to have Time Team expand a bit and give information on historical DNA. All I'm finding is general assumptions, based on a small sample of graves based in southern and western Britain (which Francis seems to dispute 🙂 and I tend to agree with Francis). I can't find anything that really describes Northamptonshire's ancestry because of the limited excavations / finds DNA analysis. Is there a reason for this burial/DNA data gap?
What a fantastically enjoyable conversation!
Great to see the 3 of you.
Particularly loved hearing Jackie's description of what we can tell about the Amesbury Archer from his skeleton. How he stood, how he walked. So vivid and moving.
So wonderful to hear Tony and Jackie talking about Time Team classics!!!
Thank you so much.
Loved this and the change of attitude towards those who have died as in leave them where they are if you can and the site may well be more valuable in fifty or one hundred years as technology advances or as the saying goes 'Honouring the Ancient Dead'................
Thank you for posting this!!!
Wonderful❤
What a great video! Thank you so much.
thank you for this!
Jackie is so filled with information plus she does not confuse with latin names . She treats bones with much respect.
Absolutely loved seeing sir. Tony and jackie. Two of my favorites. I enjoy hearing from them what they have to share and consider myself more knowledgeable after hearing them. I love you all. Ken from Indiana 🇺🇸
Wow. That was an amazing episode.
Raunds is one of my two or three favorite episodes.
Lovely to see Jackie, she's wonderful to listen to (and Tony too!) ❤❤
That was great 👍
