Time Team heads to Wytch Farm, in the shadow of Corfe Castle, Dorset, where Derek and Lawrence discovered two Iron Age burials back in 2021. They've called in the full team to investigate. Was this a cemetery, and how long have people been living here? Where were they living, and, above all, what were their livelihoods?
Will we uncover the secrets of Wytch Farm? We have just three days to find out!

@@CroneLife1 it was a few years ago, wasnt it? time flies, my son is 24 and just finishing his bachelor in history. but the "girls" look the same.
Genuinely perturbs me how too many people think that our ancestors were too undeveloped to carry out complex tasks, yet the more we learn, the more we find that we have to experiment with very complex techniques to create the things required for daily life in the past. We have so much to learn about our past and really need to stop thinking of our ancestors as primitive. They survived through situations we would not be able to with all our electronic technology.
I walked around fields in the shadow of Corfe Castle myself in 1986 as part of my geog. field trip. Was wet and miserable. At 15, I would have had no idea that decades later I'd be fascinated by what's in the ground in that same area. I've learned more from Time Team than I ever did in school. It's still so refreshing that it's able to mix education and entertainment in a way that isn't dumbed down, patronizing or just out for the dundunnnndunnnnnn moments. Well done TT. Here's to the next 30 years
This is the kind of programming we need more of. Humanity will be best served with more kids being inspired to pursue STEM careers.

This is such a treat of an episode, and a fitting tribute to everything that Time Team has done for public history & public archaeology. 45 minutes for 3 days was worth looking forward to in its day, but spending the same time on *each* day gives so much more scope for insight and development of each idea and strategy! 🧡💛💚💙💜

I loved Time Team when it was an naive outsider (Tony Robinson) looking in on archaeologists doing skillful but obscure work and it was structured as a piece of entertaining drama (moments of tension, disappointment, clashes, disagreements, fun teamwork and those last minute miracles). Now it comes across as very keen archaeologists just showing us what they have done and as such is more educational than thrilling.
What a joy to see this programme continued with so many old faces we know and new specialists as well!
Having been enjoying this programme for 30 years brought back happy and sad memories.[people I watched with who are gone ] I have learned so much over these years always great programmes

There is one in the Bakers Pit Nature Reserve in Penwith, Cornwall. I don't believe that one has been excavated yet, though.
