I only stay in suites. I was offered an upgrade from a balcony to a suite in 2011 and never looked back. The perks are exactly how you described it. Embarkation can be confusing by picking a time but being able to arrive whenever you want. I am booked on the Jubilee in a standard Ocean Suite, leaving on 10/12. About a month ago I received a text message from Carnival for an upgrade. Knowing I had a suite already, I knew there was only one option, Excel Suite. After verifying the legitimacy of the text and phone number for Carnival, I called to see what my offer was. My offer was to upgrade to an Aft Suite on deck 8 for $2k. Considering I booked a casino offer and the room is less than $3k along with an onboard credit, I was really interested in it given the overall. Less than $5k for an Aft Suite is unheard of. I discussed it with my wife, and after watching a video of our particular suite offered, we declined. It would have been on deck 8 right above the patio pool/bar area and we didn't want to have to worry about the noise. We were then offered the Excel Corner Suite, forward just like you booked for $1,500 more. I might have bit on that one, but I was not happy with the steel balcony (we are both only 5' 6"). I could kick myself for not over-ruling my wife, but happy wife, happy life. Thank you for sharing this video. I have 2 more cruises booked on the Jubilee and I think if I get the upgrade offer again, I'll take it. Laundry, room service and Loft19 are all worth it to me. I'd rather ask for forgiveness later than permission now. LOL
My wife and I own a bakery in Dallas and we work EXTREMELY hard mostly 7 days a week and we never get to do much so we always splurge a little and get the Excel Corner Aft Suite. It’s absolutely amazing! We’re a little different 😂, we actually stay in our room quite a bit and enjoy ALL of the amenities ESPECIALLY that big round sofa on the aft corner balcony. We take many naps on that thing. The views from the wrap around aft corner suite are simply breathtaking! We’ll be sailing in one again soon (10/19) for my wife’s birthday. We recognize that we are truly blessed and we’re so grateful for the ability to be able to stay in a suite. Y’all should try the aft suite next time. The forward suite is nice but the aft suite has a jacuzzi on the balcony too! Thanks for the great video! 🛳️👍🏼❤️
My wife and son and I are staying in one of the forward excel suites in March next year. Thank you for all of the insight on how it works start to finish. Very educational. You guys do a great job and it is always a pleasure watching you vids!
3 weeks until I'm in the presidential suite on the Celebration. That is actually the highest tier Excel suite. They only have 2 and they are perked on top of the bridge, one on each side.
Great video, guys. I wish I could stay in a suite, but I easily get seasick if I'm NOT sleeping in the middle of the ship and we're dealing with active waves (Bro did I learn the hard way when I was on NCL HAVEN a long time ago)! As far as perks are concerned, I definitely agree that the perks could have been better with having your own restaurant specifically for suites, or perhaps having one complimentary specialty restaurant of your choice nightly.
I feel like they could've offered heavy discounts on the specialty dining or have it set up like ChiBang or Cucina where the first dining is complementary and you pay a fixed amount if you dine there again. I don't think I would personally splurge on getting an Excel Suite. The cabin I booked for my sailing next weekend is just several doors down from this one, so getting a small teaser of my view has me more excited for next Saturday 😅 Fabulous video guys!
We totally agree! That is such a good idea tbh about the dining. Also, have such a great time next weekend!!! The view is always my favorite part, just enjoying the ocean 🙌😍
Agree! Free room service is all well and good, but it's still Carnival room service ;) Can be pretty bad. Other lines have upgraded dining packages with upgraded cabins. Personally I feel like it should have included a Steakhouse or Rudi's. Edited to add: now that I think about it, I pretty frequently get comped the Steakhouse from the casino. I for sure think that should be included. What are those cabins running, about $2500 per person?
@@RandomRecess Thinking you probably did get lucky, but that makes me cautiously excited for our January Jubilee cruise. I have had some truly awful room service food!
If I had the money for an Excel suite, I think I'd be spending it experiencing a different cruise line. They sure did miss with the balconies for a lot of the suites! We stayed in an Ocean suite on Celebration and it was hands down the worst balcony we've ever had. No cover, so no shade and zero privacy, parked over a bright white awning on the deck below. The room was pretty slick, but no way I'd pay my own money for it (casino comp).
Whining about gaps. Okay let’s do a 75-90. 90-105. 105-120. Etc. is it ever enough? If you don’t like the service then stop giving them your money. Or just keep complaining.
You’re out of touch with the normal consumer. I’ll only be watching this channel if it’s recommended just so I can be happy that I haven’t become you two.
lol what exactly did we complain about? We said nothing about the service being bad, we enjoyed it. It’s just expensive and we didn’t think it was worth the price.
Would you pay for a Carnival Suite?

Omg YES you should totally do it. And an Aft suite for that price is insane! So cool you got these offers, gotta love the casino lol

Wow, those views are going to be amazing.
Loft 19 looks nice
It really is

Agreed! Even if they didn’t have a dedicated suites restaurant like RCCL has, at least make one specialty place included for suites.
Is the perks like laundry service and water just one time during the cruise? Thanks for the video! You all are awesome! ❤
Yeah you get one free bag of laundry and the water was only once too. Thanks for watching!

Yeah true. We have to say though the chicken quesadillas were really good every time. Maybe we just got lucky.

We agree! I think we had that same type of ocean suite on the Mardi Gras a few years back and it was such a downer
