Hi Sam, I am 50 years old and have been in this cycle for a few years now. I spend a lot of time planning, a lot of time researching, but barely any time executing. I cannot get myself motivated to take actions. I stumbled on to your RUclips channel and I really like what you are sharing. It resonates with me and I am hopeful I can get better at taking actions on my ideas. Good job, I appreciate your content.
13:50 is great advice. In product development, it's called Minimum Viable Product (MVP): What's the minimum we can launch that is useful but not necessarily everything we envision. That way, we're getting something useful in the hands of customers sooner than later that we can learn from, and then iterate on.
Mate, I honestly wish your channel to blow up! Your content is pure quality and I am beyond grateful that I stumbled across your channel! Keep going 💪😊!
Damn dude. Glad I found your channel. I feel like I kinda knew some of this stuff intuitively but when you come right out and say this stuff it diffuses the anxiety for me anyway. I’ve been listening to your vids for about 3 weeks now and I have gotten further on my main project in the past 3 weeks than I have in the past year. I sincerely appreciate your perspective and it really is helpful. Especially for a guy like myself that has severe analysis paralysis. But your right I can’t stay here and I’m not. I was wondering if you could make a short video describing the 30,000 ft view of your work sprint program. How’s it going? What do people like about it? What causes people to stick with it or drop out? Anyway you have yourself a good one!
I can't thank you enough for this video. I plan and strategize WAY too much for fear that I'll screw everything up, but I took notes and am ready to take some serious action. Thank you a lot Sam, wish you the best!
I am impressed, I‘m 20, currently at university and there are lots of videos out there which try to tackle this topic. Most of them are full of placements, empty words and people repeating the same things over an over. I like your style, 0 bullshit, straight to the point and you seem to act out what you are proposing. Keep it going your gonna blow up 🚀
Hey Sam, your videos always manage to drive the point home / hit the nail on the head. It's been a punch in the gut for me. I've seen myself as the person who isn't able to get much done. I want to change that. 🙂😎👍🏻✌🏻
So true Sam. If I am so smart, strategic and organised, then surely, it's all easy. Starting is easy. It's easy to flow and be in motion. With ease then. Thank you so much Sam. Thank you.
Hi Sam, I don't really comment on videos but this right here is just gold. Your principles made so much sense to me that I've written them down on my Notion, and on my notepad and I'm gonna follow it like the bible. This is so good for the people out there who are talented and have it in them, but for various reasons, are not able to take action. It's definitely gonna take some time to embrace all this and to be able to instantly think in terms of the action needed, but I'm sure I'll get there. Thanks Sam!
Massively resonate with the section about being strategic… Always framed it as an advantage that I have over everyone else, but now zooming out and seeing it how it really is, it’s just a high-level excuse for procrastination and overall stagnation. Very well articulated video, great blend of personality and actionable techniques. Thanks mate, liked and subscribed.
I was sceptical at first but you pulled it together and the message is a good one. Clearly, I have been endlessly tweaking my system over a long period of time. It's now pretty good. Now...I have to establish projects and objectives around what I want to achieve and just "do the work". Thanks Sam!!!
I Experienced procrastination all my life and past 3 years i overcame a lot of stuff in the past couple of years, and i aim to keep this momentum going. I am glad to find your channel. i like your no nonsense straight shot no chaser message. Subbed. 👍
Dude, yes! This video was amazing, thanks for all the great content on this subject. Love your references to Andrew Huberman too. His podcasts on dopamine have been life-changing as well.
“No free dopamine” -JOCKO! Reward yourself by rewiring your brain to feel the dopamine rush of doing deep work. I miss that feeling and have been disconnected from that for a while. I’m excited to have access to this type of information which is really giving me insight to improve my work and ultimately, my life. Cheers to being the healthiest, happiest you!!
Your chapter on "playing the small game is better than no game made me think of Atomic Habits. If you just do *something* at least you're on the path of getting better. It's so easy to get lost in the "oh I can't make a million bucks my first year any way, I'm gonna go plan some more." But you should have a base of actually enjoying what you do, not focus on what you want out of it. Which goes well with what you said about focusing on the input rather than the outcome. I release my content because my goal is to create a steady trickle of blog posts and videos. When people start noticing I might streamline and focus on honing my skill in a few areas. But right now I just want to do it for me. The bigger goal is to make money off of it, but I want to do that in a way that makes me happy
I've just come across your RUclips Channel Sam and I have to say I am really impressed. The videos are of good quality and differ from the typical productivity guru. Pure gold
PRINCIPLE 4 THOUGH 🗣🗣🗣 I really have been appreciating your videos, especially the ones that come from this standpoint - that we need to be starting, not perfecting, in order to create momentum and change our realities. Thanks for posting!
This video really resonated with me, Sam. I've saved it to a list and probably will revisit some of the tactics you've outlined. Thanks for the time and thought you've put into this video. I really like how you just speak with authority and are able to cut through a lot of BS that's around. Cheers.
What a great video! I used to be stuck in the overthinking trap, but since then have radically changed things around to becoming super action oriented. I know it’s a painful process and pseudo intellectual people (like I used to be) will push back against it like mad, but I really hope your channel will grow.
Outstanding content and very well presented - I gave it a like. So we're left with... just 15 things to focus on! That's too many. You could watch it over and over - but doing that with a 24 minute video will soon start taking a chunk out of the time in which you could be "doing the work". A video for taking notes from rather than one to directly learn from IMO.
This video is very useful... I sort of knew these thing but hearing it from third person helps ... for me the robotic way of working helps alot for emotionally sensitive people like me it requires training but boy does it help. It doesnt mean i shut down my emotions its just not everything requires you full emotional spectrum of thinking .Taking action cured alot of that overthinking to begin with.
Thank you so much Sam. Great topic. You really chellenged me because I am the strategic type. I had to accept my results are product of my actions or lack of it in the past.
Cheers from the Balkans, Sam. Nice video. Old people im my country used to say: Залудо работи, залудо не стой. Which, roughly translated means: You should rather do some work, even if it is pointless, than just sit there. I guess, ancient Balkan wisdom confirms your advice :)
When it comes to quitting habits, it is easier to do something else then to not do. So if you're trying to cut out junk foods, it's better to say "I will eat more fruit" then saying "I will not eat junk foods". Ofc it can go south when applied religiously or focused on the wrong things but I've replaced my morning gaming time with 60 minutes of following along a course on drawing.
Man, you genius! And, more important, - real. Your advices really solid and ground. Hope your channel will blow up. I take this video as a guideline for this week and start to do action right now) I'm really tired of procrastination and analysis paralysis.
I feel like it's difficult for a lot of people especially in the US to get a majority of their work done ASAP. So many companies want their employees to get a lot of stuff done towards the end of their shift, or to get important stuff done the entire time you're at work. This leads people to becoming exhausted and burnt out, so they end up relying on cheap dopamine hits no matter what.
Like @ jeffphilips, I'm older and your content is blessing me, meaning what you've learned and applied is overflowing to others. I look forward to hearing your reminders in my head as I move forward out of slumber into faith (action). ;)

When “act like someone who is less smart than you” is good advice it makes you question how smart you were in the first place 😵

Great content! Would be amazing to have a video covering Prioritization. Not on week/month planning but in how to handle it in a day by day scenario
