So, every-time I reset my router do I "have" to put in the IP address of it and go into those configuration settings? Cause, I have used routers in the past where I did reset and they connected just fine with me putting in the password and everything that's on my router (unless I was suppose to do what was in this video as well with those and didn't), because, right now, I'm having an issue with one of my routers where it's got a red light and power cycling the router just isn't doing it, so I'm thinking about resetting it, but I did some more research and read that some people are resetting their routers to just end up not having any internet at all and having to contact their ISP to get things running again, especially if the router has been giving too you by the specific manufacturer and I don't want to through that issue. Also, keep in mind my router doesn't have a default gateway for it as well, so I couldn't even do the rest of the steps that I see in the video. So, what I really want to know is, is it better just to not really reset your router in cases like this if you have to go through this if you have gotten your router from a manufacturer that had these settings already set up for you and have all that be gone as well? Like this resetting process doesn't seem like it's something you should do in general.
Hi please am in Ghana and I have restarted my router and the name of my router is KLEOS and I have done all the needful to get my password back and is not working
Ya how or why would I use the original password printed on the bottom when I’m trying to rename it!?!? I have already given it a name and it’s not admin! I don’t get it. Help

Hi, thanks! Have you tried accessing the router's configuration through its ip address written on the hardware?
Thank you so much
