Thanks WKS! She helped a ton on the build, and was so excited at the chance to be part of the video, I had to let her. Im sure you have the same level of fun building stuff with Hayley. She also seems so interested in what you are working on! Thanks for watching!
I wondered as I built this thing if I had gone a bit too niche on the build, but I'm discovering when it comes to props that nothing is too niche! lol. Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching!
I think your daughter should draw you a giraffe next - I can't wait to see how you do a life sized one, LOL. Seriously, the mushroom turned out really well - what a great idea to attach the swirly light underneath the cap - it is has a really beautiful effect.
On the way into town today I actually had my daughter read your comment, and she agreed 100%, though I would really need to figure out how to build such a large prop that would stand up to the elements. The mushroom in this video was actually moved to someones office as a tiny prank, which then turned into the mushroom living in said office as they will turn down the lights and let the swirling light create a great calm work space!
Hahaha! I love the intro, with that perfectly timed hand flourish!😂 🤣 Not only does the finished, uv mushroom look incredible, but even the styrofoam cutting part is flawless.---I'm over here just trying to cut some letters (freestyle🤪), and foam is everywhere!!
If you look at the shadows you can see my hand reminding her to be expressive with her hands. I laughed when I saw it. I don't do a lot of work in UV as the colours are VERY bright and don't match a lot of my style, but I figured the only way to go is to jump in head first and try it. The mushroom is so surreal, If I put it outside at night with the black light mostly hidden. The whole things looks downright radioactive. The first rule of working with styrofoam is it gets everywhere and you will be finding it after you have cleaned for the next 2 months! lol. I'm looking forward to seeing whatever project you are working on. Thanks for your support Fraidy!
Oh yes. I saw the discreet shadow at the beginning.😂@@SamhainPropworks That's so true about the styrofoam! It's elusive to vacuum cleaner, but like a magnet on the cat!
EVA foam is one of my favourite materials to work with, it's just has the right combination of resilience to damage, but huge workability. EPS Styrofoam is a close second but only for props where people can't interact with. I need to find a easy hard coat for styrofoam. Thanks for watching Mass Pranks!
Oh gosh!!! The template!! I had got it all ready but had not made it public! I’ll do that tonight thank you for catching that dawn! Thanks so much for patron support as well 😀
I’m building two 4 ft tall mushrooms and one 6 ft tall mushroom props for my partners birthday! 🍄 I only have the mushroom caps left to make and this video is a life saver because I could not figure out how I was going to make it! I have a question though.. I’d like the caps for my 4ft mushrooms to be slightly bigger than what’s in your video.. and the 6ft mushroom needs to be several sizes bigger. If I just use more of the cut outs, say 10 for the medium caps and 12 for the large cap.. and glue them together in the same way, will it turn out? Or how would you suggest I scale this up in size?
The curvature of the pieces was a real monster to get right, I think if you add pieces it might cause some significant problems with the tension on the joints. You could glue 2 mats together to get more vertical height and then print the template as large as it will allow. I'll put on my thinking cap on and I'll see if I can come up with a design using EVA mats that would allow for a larger mushroom cap. Regardless thanks for watching!
The tiny crafter needs a couple more cameos. I'm really enjoying watching all your vids!
That came out great. Kudos to your assistant for their contribution.

@@SamhainPropworks lol yes Hailey loves working with Daddy and it is fun as well as creating memories.
This is awesome! I've been trying to find an affordable way to make a giant mushroom! Thanks for sharing your creativity & hard work!

A lot of cosplayers who work with foam use kwikseal for sealing in foam seams. :3
I’m going to have to give that a shot! Thanks Seiaeka!
Amazing great job I use eva foam all the time it's great stuff to work with

Foam factory has a hard coat works very well
I'm going to have to check into that Mass Pranks! Thanks for the heads up!
came out great love it !! HFL!!
Thanks Deoblo! Now we all need to do a Alice in Wonderland haunt, American McGee style! Thanks for watching!
@@SamhainPropworks hahaha i know right !!
great fun watching your vids, though am I blind, or is the mentioned template missing?

@@SamhainPropworks yay! thank you! - (dives into her cave workshop and starts cutting foam)
