EMTs/Paramedics are NOT getting paid enough for their work and sacrifices. This is worth writing to our government officials about fixing this, especially during these times.
Very true, when you go out on that call or on a transfer, you will never know what the outcome is, but we may be responding to that same patient the next week, next month, or next year. etc. But I enjoy working as an EMT, It give me a sense of compassion for the community I service. But there are some days I wish I was not on that particular call, like pediatrics or DOAs. those hit hard, but you still have a job to do and maintain that professionalism at all times.
Trust me, these new ambulances aren’t as good. The Ford transit vans are lighter, and handle a bit better, and manage in tighter spots...but that’s it. The Box ambulances are much better for patient care, and personnel on board, and mechanically more reliable. Old Ford E350’s are great, and the Medium Duties are awesome. The best right now are the new Ram 4500, and 5500’s. Some company’s and Fire stations will even run Kenworth or International rigs if they have the space.
If you want to do it go for it. Just know not stay a basic your whole career. Eventually use it to go onto something better. If a great place to start and to use as a stepping stone.
@@danielkinakh2122 Its very stressful and hard. And if its about the pay think of the truth this is a profession not for the money-hungry hogs, its for people who really care.
The. Radio needs to be 2 inches from your mouth it’s noise canceling. Nevertheless hard to hear at Disbatch the way she’s doing it the way she’s using the radio is not correct

God protect our EMT. Within his will.
Contribution on making the world a better place. Just the littlest things.

Go to nursing school. EMS is low paying and a dead end career
St. Peter's hospital? That's the name of the hospital where I live. But have never heard of that ambulance service she is with though
I just finished the EMT-b course and I'm waiting to take my NREMT I'm excited!
Wanted to be an EMT until I saw how little they get paid
Come to NY and get your Paramedic cert. Trust me, you'll make out just fine.
You could always volunteer, too
