    Finally figured out what was wrong with my editing software. I use a free beta and it had an issue with locking the FPS down to 24. I got it resolved a few days too late so all content form here WILL be in 60fps. Thanks for watching!

    I owned a yahamah r6. I test rode the ninja 400 and fell in love . Put my r6 on Craigslist. Sold it and bought the ninja 400! It's a blast!

      Isn't it crazy! It's so damn light weight that even though it has much lower power it is crazy fun...and let's be honest...an r6 will encourage bad behavior at 100+ but these 400s are just as fun, if not more fun in the 0-60 range. These are the kind of bikes that beginners and experienced riders alike will be holding onto for a long time.

      @@truemoo3450 or you can stop at the ninja 400 or ninja 650. You dont always have to keep going bigger and bigger. The lighter bikes are fun as well and great on gas

    I have a 2019 N400 and just sold my 2019 ZX6R. I kept the 400 because of how much fun it is and can ride it on long trips. So much fun ripping through the gears. The ZX6R was a blast too but a little too uncomfortable for me and way too tempting to go fast. I did 140mph on it and decided to sell so my kids can keep their dad around a little longer.

      I don't think I could ever sell mine...I love it. Sold my 18 R3 and 19 ZX6R because my N400 was all I need.

    I bought this same bike as my first bike about three weeks ago - same color, year, and everything. I'm absolutely in love with it. Even when I move onto a bigger bike, I don't think I'm ever going to sell this thing. It's a great commuter bike that can be fun on the highway (from a beginner's point of view) when it wants to be.
    If you're a new rider who's interested in sport bikes but would also prefer something without a lot of temptation-inducing power, then I'd highly recommend this bike. It's a phenomenal value...And it isn't just a boring little moped, either.

    Beginner rider here.. would you rather get the 2020 ninja 400 over a 650 as a first motorcycle? Will i outgrow the 400 quick? Or maybe stick with 650 and not worry about upgrading anytime soon?
    Thanks for the response! Sub!

    • @716Flat4
      @716Flat4  4 года назад +2

      It depends a little. If you think you will be obsessed with speed, like trying to do high speeds on a highway with friends, both bikes will fall short. The 400 rewards a heavy throttle...you can really beat on them pretty hard. The 650 will also, but you'll get a fair bit more power when you slam it...so it can put you in more dangerous places faster than the 400. This is a very difficult question to answer because it really depends on you.
      For me, I think I would have been happy with either bike. I probably would have outgrown the 400 quicker than the 650. I am also tempted to get a faster bike than the 650...but for me that may be a very dangerous idea as I love acceleration.
      At the end of last season, I re-geared my 650, taking 1 tooth out on the front sprocket going from 15 teeth to 14. My top speed is a little slower but I accelerate from 0- 60 much faster now.
      Ideally I'd be in a Ninja 1000...but that's the wrong bike to learn on for sure.
      I would advise you to go to a local dealership and test drive both bikes... If you are looking at new, both of them should have very similar features. See if you feel more comfortable on one of them than the other...but if speed is something you'd find yourself addicted to, go 650and regear after a season or two.

      Thank you for your detailed response! It helped me a lot. I sat on both 400 and 650.. both felt good and comfortable. I wasn’t able to test drive it because I don’t have the motorcycle endorsement yet. Still waiting for my MSF course. How tall are you? How’s the seat comfort on the 650 for long rides? I think i’ll be the same way, i’m going to love accelerating faster so i’m leaning towards the 650. Is financing a motorcycle a good idea? $2500 is the difference between the 400 and 650. I don’t want to be broke put everything in it, i still have to buy good quality gears.

    • @716Flat4
      @716Flat4  4 года назад +2

      @@mykg1442 as a new rider financing can be a bit risky only because you are more likely to put your bike down in your 1st season than any other. That being said, a 650 isnt a huge $ difference as you pointed out. I would figure out a helmet you like and get them to throw it into the deal...maybe even push for a jacket too if you can. Do not sacrifice your safety for the bike...if you are put in those shoes, walk away for a month till you can bridge the $ gap. for what it is worth, I am riding a 2012 650, so I bought used and my bike cost me the difference in price between the 2 new ones you are considering. one final note, check insurance quotes for full coverage. I think I pay less than 30/month for full coverage but make sure you also can get affordable coverage before you buy.

    Does it feel sporty while holding handle or is it very upright for a sports bike ?

    • @716Flat4
      @716Flat4  4 года назад +2

      The 400 has an upright riding position, but the way the handlebars are make it feel sporty. You can ride upright comfortably on this or easily tuck in and get down. the ninja 250, 300, 400, 650 and 1000 all have more of an upright ride than something like a 600 or zx10 which is very leaned forward. Its easier to put hours on the road upright BY FAR.

      I have a N400 and just sold my 19 ZX6R a few days ago. I highly recommend starting on the 400. The ZX6R is an insane beast. It's possible to learn on, but the 400 will have you smiling just as much and a lot more forgiving.

      man I am unsure. I didn't buy it, I just rode it. This video was made because the year prior I rode the same kind of bike and it was my first ride on the streets. So I redid the video to give a better perspective. I own a 650, but I think I would have been just as happy on this 400 considering how light it is and how much it enjoys being railed on.

    Is this faster than a new Yamaha r3

    • @716Flat4
      @716Flat4  4 года назад

      th 400 does 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 13.5...I can not find stats for anything other than model Yamaha yzf-r3 which is 0-60 in 5.3 secons and 1/4 mile in 14.3...the older yzfr3 was 5.1 and 14.1 respectively.
